its not just buffing it in general, it 025 spactory is better when being buffed by a 420/5xx alchemist or other damage buffs, however, attack speed buffs affect the 205 the same way as they affect the 025, but damage buffs like alchemist or upgraded geraldos sharpening stone benefit a faster attacking tower more than a tower that does more damage with less attack speed as the faster attacking tower can deal the extra damage from the buffs more. most towers that have a crosspath that increases damage and another crosspath that increases attack speed are still better with the more damage crosspath no matter how much you buff it, but there are a few cases like the elite sniper (x5x) or recursive cluster (xx4), which when buffed by different things are better with the extra attack speed crosspath.
if you look at those spiked mines in the 70s you can see that every spiked mine explosion kills like 10-20 pinks/whites… If you want to know the exact numbers: - 2/8 damage per spike to bloons/cerams 14 spikes per ball (so 112 ceram damage per ball!) - explosion has 10 damage with 40 pierce, and compensates what a spactory is weak at: grouped bloons It’s actually a really underrated tower if you ask me (it was almost matching your carpet of spikes on logs and you called it trash😭)
I’m probably in the minority, but I like my permaspike to lay down its spikes normally, rather than all in one stack. This helps me visualize how far thru its defenses I’ve gone. Really useful for deciding whether or not an ability is merited.

Works best if you alternate ShredR 240 & Spike Balls 320 on final bend, use at least 2 deadly spikes on normal 024. If you make Bloons wait to contact spike balls / ShredR in a mix then it's the perfect combination of Ceramic/Moab damage. The 024 just has a ton of RBE /$ =]

I always get a 250 Permaspike. I get that the 025 produced faster, but if you're pile isn't being touched for 20-30 rounds anyway, I think a 205 pile will be sufficient.
the spikes only last 4 rounds, and the 025 drops spike piles 1.78 times faster. the 205 has 1.8 times more pierce though, so the total pierce will be almost identical, however they have the same damage per spike pile, so the 025 will have the full 1.78 times more maximum single target damage.
205 spikes are super strong, and can singlehandedly solo multiple ddts. The pierce is so huge that 1 permaspike literally can pop multiple ddts without expiring
the village plus Geraldo or village plus Sauda may actually be possible on one of the super easy maps. you came close to a 1 tower chimps with Geraldo, a village could possibly make the difference. Sauda has had a 1tc as well, and maybe getting a 500 village could make a village + hero chimps possible. I think you should do the village only chimps just for fun.

I've found the spike factory to be quite formidable, it's best used in conjunction with ice towers though because the bloons will be slowed down giving the spike factory more time to carpet the track. Add a few (20 or so upgraded to ring of fire) tack shooters and more spike factories at the beginning of the track and it should get you to somewhere like round 76, if you can somehow fry the ceramics then you'll be fine. I think it is possible to go nuts with towers that have no targeting priority that are stationary like the Spike Factory, Ice Tower, Tack Shooter and Mortar.

I have to wonder about placement a bit. I know 3xx/4xx spactories are great against cerams, so I wonder if it would have been better for them to be a bit further up the track, so they can deal the big damage to MOABs and Cerams, and then not make the spike storms/pspikes take out the cerams, and instead play cleanup.
Suggestion: BTD6 but the scaling starts at round 100 (So the speed and hp of the r40 moab would be the same as a r140 moab, and the r100 bad would be the same as a r200 bad) You could adjust other things such as prices, or game mode if it’s too hard/too easy

@@Sipsipsip600 the top crosspath gives each spike +40 pierce which is an 80% boost in damage, and middle crosspath gives a 79% attack speed bonus which is a 79% boost in damage. the top path also allows it to pop lead, and they both cost the same, so the 205 is 1% better than 025 and pops lead bloons. (watch hbombs video on the permaspike crosspaths)
While I recently quit playing this game, I still enjoy watching videos on it. Also the 023 is a huge blunder. That only works if your using the alch buff. If your going without alchemist then it’s better to go 205 for the ability to pop leads. DDTs have lead properties and a 025 can’t pop DDTS without alch buff. But since most get the Alch buff with the 025, it can be easy to forget about that.
Spike factory is the weirdest tower in the entire game it's powerful and it can totally save your buttbut that's the worst part as soon as they're popping something you know that your actual defense isn't cutting it a cruel fate for this tower

Watching this video I kept having this weird dichotomy of knowing this is the same guy who later revealed that the Super Spike Mine Factory is that co-strongest tower in the game. He hadn't done the Tier 5 contest video yet, but now? Now he knows and now he dominates even harder.
How about, druid with eitenele (drone hero) since he gives global camo detection. Or any other towerr that dont have camo u can use that. In case u want to make more of these lovly chimps videos.
btw if you don't have an alcheist to buff it you want to go for 205 spactory over 025 as it has better popping power in general and lead popping power.
I'm pretty sure you could've saved yourself a lotta misery by going with the top path crosspath on the perma spike, from my testing it dealt more damage.
