    Well presented Toby. That black interior is 🔥🔥🔥.
    Today we will settle for a bidet in lieu of a heated towel bar.
    Opulence shall never be compromised.

    another fantastic vid. Fantastic for me because unlike many of your viewers, I, during the pandemic stumbled backwards into yacht racing as a means to help me get over the loss of a real F1 / Lemans / Sports Car racing. So here I am watching all the vids and loving them. Stupid Question No. 1........ can you please explain the performance differences between lets say, "Bella Mente"(Maxi 72) and "My Song" ClubSwan 80. 'If it were possible for Hap Fauth and his crew to sail them both, same wind, same sea conditions, is one boat just a much better performer? Is it like comparing a Porsche GT3 RS to a GT3 Touring?
    Thank you very much. Tony Davis

    Your walk through and Matt Sheahan’s piece together give an excellent introduction to this sailboat. Thanks! Is ClubSwan basically an Italian venture? Swan CEO Italian, ClubSwan in Firenze, design firm Italian, made by Persico, Italian launch customer? Doesn’t look very Finnish ;)

    • @yachtingworld
      @yachtingworld  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Joshua.
      And yes that's a fair comment. The brand is Italian owned and managed. The CS50 is built in Finland but the CS36 and CS80 are not. It collaborates with specialists such as Persico for race projects when and where necessary. But the Finnish shipyard and remains the heart of the company, particularly for its main production lines.

    Imo the most exciting series boat to Come out of any boatyard since the clubswan 50 in 2016. Cant compare this to the full custom boats (imocas and cup boats for instance)

    • @WinWindowS.K.Julian

      @@OGillo2001 just edited the comment. I meant out of any boatyard that builds Serie boats. In my mind there is a big difference between something coming out of Swan (even if they only build one or two) and something like an ac75. Should have been more specific

    • @WinWindowS.K.Julian
      @WinWindowS.K.Julian ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OGillo2001 although i would say this is more exciting than the imocas. But Not the cup boats (ac50, ac75 and the New ac40 which all are very exciting in their own Way). Not to say the imocas aren't exciting. They are awsome boats

    • @OGillo2001
      @OGillo2001 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WinWindowS.K.Julian I hear you. There is a massive difference between something that will travel amazing fast, in a fairly narrow wind range inshore, and some thing else that will travel amazing fast, on a lap of the planet, single handed. But this is down to personal interest. As you said 'exciting in its own way' all good fun

    Yes, this is really is extraordinary. They have excelled. Simplicity in the perfect application of the essence of function. It always has been the essence of the best racing yachts.
    It would be even better if they could still also do some combinations of classic beauty from their history and modern technology though. Some charm in the range of offerings would go a long way.

  • @vorda400
    @vorda400 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why did they even bother to make a cruiser out of such a machine?
    But I have to admit that I haven't had the chance to use a carbon bidet yet

    Beast of a boat, but at about 4.14 the graphic, (and Toby), suggests that the canting keel can "allow the boat to access shallower ports". WRONG! In a hull without extreme sections in the canoe body, operating the canting mechanism of the keel whithout any lateral load on the rig will simply rotate the hull around its lateral centre of buoyancy, effectively canting the hull above a gravity seeking ballast lump which is the keel. While a bit of negative cant can be useful in very light winds to achieve a bit of heel to help keep shape in the sails, the draft will remain the sane, give or take a few centimeters, in the absence of a load on the rig. I suppose if fully powered up in race mode and at full cant, you might be able take a course over a bit of sea bed that would be risky in a non canting boat, it would be a puckering moment. And definitely when at anchor or in a marina the draft will not alter, but it certainly will change the look of the whole circus.
