When I first saw this, I thought it was just gonna be Sonic 3 but with the Mario sprite. I'm glad I was wrong...
The Mario sprite is really good & it fits with the game really well & the fact that you get Mario's abilities like the triple jump & the dive from Super Mario 64 is mind-blowing :O

Hey Darby did you know that the glowing orb bonus stage is actually the best one to get? From it you can get over 200 rings on every visit, as getting to the very top the last 2 small orbs give you 80 rings each, as well as the others below them giving you between 10 and 50 rings each.

Based on the amount of time you went from 11:01 to 11:20 without any ding sounds, I am inclined to believe that Mario does not drown underwater.
Normally it would have done a little warning ding within a time frame as big as that (at least once).

Mario fits right in for Sonic 3 & knuckles
The number of rings you have depends on the bonus stage. Since you had at least 20 rings you kept getting the slot bonus stage.

Yeah i was waiting for this. I think i did mention once i wondered what Mario and Tails partnership would be like. This was so cool. I loved it when Mario got bored he lifted his cap. The power ups worked well for Mario. The bonus round was cool. Everything about it looked and worked so well, his roll was fun. Now we need Sonic and Luigi.... Could Luigi keep up? Thank you for the awesome upload, really enjoyed this.

I think the consensus opinion is that Sonic 3 & Knuckles (or just "Sonic 3, but the full version" as they might put it) is the best of the four and a half classic Sonic games. My favorite is 2, but 2 is only slightly more common a choice than CD. Few people other than hipsters claim the very first game as their favorite _unless_ they were early adopters who literally started with it rather than one of the sequels!
My list of preferences is:
- Sonic 2
- Sonic & Knuckles
- Sonic 3
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Sonic CD

i have an idea about how this happened (i know, someone else already did it):
sonic one day noticed that another place needed his help so he went there, so Mario decided to take a break from saving princesses (and kingdoms) so he decided to embark on an adventure to collect the shiny gems (chaos emeralds) and stop the evil egg from his plans
i was a little late but cool video man i also installed sonic 3 air on my phone
Sonic 2 is my favorite of the series as well, followed by Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic 1 (I do actually enjoy playing them all).
Luigi as Tails
Mario enemies (Goomba, Koopa, etc) as Badniks
Wario as Knuckles
Bowser as Dr Robotnik
The Toads as Animals

As I have just recently played the games, I will rank them, I would go, from worst to best, SCD, S1, S2, S3, SK, and SM (Does Sonic mania count? It is part of the outro of origins so maybe it counts?) Sad you didn't get perfect balls. what emulator would you recommend for these kinds of mods? i had one years ago but i can't find it and some sites look like they're full of bots/ viruses.

Plot twist: mario just wanted to take a vacation there on angel island, after he recued Peach on the dinasour island, (he met tails there, but sonic was nowhere to be found) but knux and eggman were the whole problem of the story

Darby in Angel island stage 1-2 you can get 4 chaos emeralds and potentially have super sonic/Mario by hydrocity act 2

idk if u know the colors for the bonus stages but ill say them anyways. Orange is the casino type stage, red is the orb stage that you race to the top, white is the slot machine. ;)
