Makes the place look more “finished”. Thinking back to when Sloe Patrol was an empty hulk of old steel. Amazing when you think of all the work that’s been done. Glad you took us along to be part of your cyber family. Stay safe. 🇨🇦🇬🇧👍
Nice tune that one wasn’t it !! I used that hose again today. One day I’ll stop telling you but for now, I’m still so impressed with how it works and folds to nothing !! Have a lovely Sunday Sue
Hi James, floor is looking excellent, better than trying to manipulate a roll of vinyl round all the nooks and crannies in a narrow winding space 👍 Hit a problem and you can back out the errant tile and and go again. Good choice of colour, certainly does make things a bit brighter and easy to keep clean 😊
looking good James, just catching up on your progress after having no power for 12 days and no internet for 16 days following the storm you mentioned. looks like I have quite a bit to watch tonight 👍👍
Go for it James aim to complete one task completely before starting another. Have watch all you Vlogs and you have done remarkable good considering you don't have a trade back ground 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great job James , the flooring choice and colouring is ideal , making it look a lot brighter , and more homely...You have achieved so much over the past months , it has been a pleasure to follow your journey . Take care , and if the weather is good tomorrow , enjoy the cruise down towards King's Langley.
Really like the flooring James. Your home is looking more finished now. All you need now is a table and cushions (and maybe a door for the bathroom). All the best from Missouri.
Great choice of flooring. Looks lovely. Glad you’re getting back into the build. Once you’ve decorated your boat will fill so cosy and homely. Hope you haven’t got to wait much longer for your hot water to be sorted 😊
Wow, it's calm down there! I've seen some clips of the weather further North but it was bad enough here in the Marches. I heard a fence panel flying by in the night and it's not from of of my immediate neighbours. Now it's eerily as calm as a mill pond but snow forecast for next weekend. First weekend at minus temperatures. Floor looks nice and will be very east to keep clean in through the door in wet weather and other traipsing routes.
The trick with those tiles is to have a very clean surface to stick them to, and get them laid accurately. If you decide to put on a floating floor at some time in the future, there would be no need to tear those up. Good choice of colour and texture. Of course, when it comes to floor coverings, there is the essential reference to The Big Lebowski. Dude, all you need now is a carpet to tie the whole place together. 🤣
Good job. Did you consider painting the wood with floor paint so removing the tiles is possible without fooking the wood and snapping chalk lines for guidance? Do get some plastic chair glides for the feet of your director chair (minimize indents in the vinyl). Cheers!
Great job on the floor James, my only concern is, does the pattern go through the tile, if its just printed on the top, it will wear off in high walk areas after a few months. Been there and done it. Good luck..
It look nice floor it will make more happiness in the winter time it 27 f out or you us C-4 foe to night with snowing out. Cheers Stephen - the water is quite cold now and the puddles are frozen over but probably nothing compared to Canada this time of year. Have a great Sunday
Hi James floor looks great. Can I ask how you have insulated the floor beneath on a project boat. Or do you feel/think it's not nessacary!!! Looking to do ours and considering the options.
Hi James I’m new to the channel but love what you are doing with the tiles look amazing wow nice with flooring,do they lift off easily again though?? Thanks
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt the nba basketball team has a parquet floor in their arena. In the old Boston Garden, it was an extremely cool place to play. But they tore down the arena, built a new crappy modern one, but kept the parquet floor (style, not original floor).
Well if it isn't too late, start with the longest visible seam. That would seem to be the stove, past the bathroom, and into the forward bedroom. If you get that line straight, everything will be OK. If you don't, the seam will not be "straight" down the length of your boat. Pick a centerline, snap a chalk-line, and work outwards towards the port and starboard.
Cheers for that Bob, but it is a bit too late. I’m thinking though, owing to the small patterns, that this will work ok - the lines seem ok at the moment - heading for bathroom by lunchtime I reckon
On a wood floor without sealing they will come up in a second. Should have put spray adhesive in the wood to seal and give extra sticky. Also go over with a rubber roller to get them really stuck down.
The one I tried to take up to replace took a hell of a lot of work to unpeel - I think these will stick just fine - let’s see how the fair over time like the rest of it

Those tiles were a good choice and they look like they will be very easy to clean. You are creating a lovely cosy home James.
Nicely done there young James--don't forget to add a mop to your shopping list ;-) Kudos to James' dad for the musical accompaniment.

@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt I know, right??! It's like something out of Star Trek. Tell me as often as you like--it makes me smile. :-)
You've done it now.... Can't get away with cleaning the floor every three months, whether it needs it or not! :)
I know - I’ve already mopped it - what’s the world coming to??
Your dad's playing makes any tune sound good.
James. What a difference the floor makes. Great choice.
You're pretty handy with a blade, young James. I see a lucrative future in surgery, or carpet fitting. ;o)
All the best, mate.
“Pretty handy with a blade” - shall I add that to my CV ?

That tranquil water is super soothing…..loud, but soothing.
Mate it’s awful. Always either needing the loo or thinking my boat is filling with water !!
The Yoga that James is doing…….meditation on the cut! 😂😂😂
Your floor is looking great James.
Good choice. Any herb burns and you only have to replace a single tile. Cheers!
Surely you mean small fragments from the stove 🤣

Definitely makes a difference - looks much lighter now, maybe a couple of nice cosy rugs to make the floor warmer ?

There’s been a few deaths from falling trees so yeah it’s bad. Luckily it’s passed now. Thanks
nice choice with the tiles mate, I would've kept them all going in the same direction myself, but that's just my OCD kicking in.
Cheers pal

Nice choice on the flooring. All those cuts can be a pain. Just take your time and it will be done before you know it. Crack on. Stay safe.
It’s taking bloody ages - an hour to cut 4 tiles !! Cheers bud
great job

Hope you bought extra! If one gets damaged, i hear they are easy to replace. Looks good!!!

You'll just have to have a beer or three and watch the film again! Every time I see it, I spot something new.
Very good and neat job James 👍
Dont forget to leave one 'deliberate imperfection', the tradition in ancient tiling !
Oh rest assured, there’s plenty mate
Thanks for making me feel better !!
In Roman Times, only the Gods were perfect 👌
Good job.

Do get some plastic chair glides for the feet of your director chair (minimize indents in the vinyl).
Cheers!
Thanks James - good to hear from you !
The directors chair has those chair glides but I’ll get some more for other bits if I need
Thanks - stay safe
if you had known about it , you could have had a paper roller for wall paper seams and pressed down on it to help seal the tile to your floor .

Thanks - I got them from b&q. £9pm2
No adhesive required which helps
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt Thanks. We need to do the bathroom and galley on our boat. These look easier than battling with sheet vinyl 😊

Super sticky hard as heck to get back up without a hot gun I did it on 18 mm ply and I had to replace the hole floor after trying to take them off
They’ve been down now for more than a second now so all looks good.
