a a y a h h Well skin care isn’t one-size-fits-all, so it really doesn’t mean that it isn’t making her skin worse, especially because it’s not made for the sensitive skin face and could be drying it out, which makes acne worse in some people, believe it or not.

The girl in the kimono has the right idea. Yes her routine is long and has many many different products involved, but look at her skin compared to the girl who puts hand soap on her face. (Huge no no by the way) She has adult acne, (which some people are just prone to) hyperpigmentation, (most likely from picking) and says that the products on her face feel oily. That tells me that she probably has oily skin which means that her skin is probably dehydrated. When your skin is oily, it is trying to compensate for the lack of hydration, so it overproduces oil to make up for it, when in reality that extra oil is clogging your pores and creating other issues. The one thing she has going for her is that she wears sunscreen. Everyone should be wearing sunscreen every single time you go outside. Sun damage is the leading cause of skin issues and will make a huge difference if you just start wearing it every day. This video is a great example of what a good skin care routine can do for your skin. I’m a licensed esthetician who treats skin every day, preforms acne treatments, preforms chemical peels, and a lot more. The number one thing I tell people is that if you get a facial and don’t have the correct home care, there’s no point in getting a facial because you’re not going to be able to maintain the results and improve your skin.
    Edit:
Dang I didn’t realize how many likes this had gotten! I really appreciate the support! 🥺🙌

If your skin feels dry and tight after the shower, and gets very very oily later on.. you may have dehydrated skin.
This means your skin barier is damaged and your skin is losing moisture due to that, and overcompensating with oil.
Solution: skincare without harsh ingredients or a high pH, lots of ceramides/fatty acids/cholesterol. Lots of hydration locked in with an occlusive cream.

Korean skincare products are kinda light weight and they make them in a way that multiple products can be used together . most Koreans/japanese/chinese,... have a long skincare routines, so I dont think that it would be a problem (or else 90% of the country wouldnt do it). Plus I think those long steps actually help in the long terms as you can see that anyone who took care of their skin well would end up looking younger in their older age.
I have combo-oil skin and I can tell right away if my skin gets bad as I was lazy to take care of it. But if you want to try. I highly recomend brands like Pyunkang yul, DrJart, Corsx, Sulwhasoo and Neogen. I found these brands really clean compared to all the western, korean brands I had use. And try Cica products too if you have a acne problems.

When I started using skincare products, I thought I have to use a foaming cleanser, toner, serum, eye cream, and a lotion twice a day. Then my skin began to get very oily, breakouts, and sensitive. Now I only use cerave hydrating cleanser and cerave lotion at night. In the morning, I try not to wash my face. If the sun is very bright that day, I will wash my face with water and put on sunscreen. If it is cloudy or raining, I will skip this step. My skin is less sensitive, no new breakouts, and less oily (not drying or oily which is good).

Don't skip sunscreen. it need to be applied every 2 hours outdoors. 4 hours indoors (depends how much sunlight comes through). I wish i learnt this when I was young. I was able to reverse my age by 6 years just applying sunscreen for over a year. It takes time but your skin naturally heals itself (to a certain extend) if your not exposed to sunlight. Experiement with different sunscreens until you find the right one. There is so many out there. Watch youtube vids on beauty channels to see which sunscreens is good. You shouldn't wash your face mid day, just apply the sunscreen. Only wash morning and night.

I feel like acne prone skin tends to be labelled "oily" and needing harsh soap - but I feel like the skin can be (and often is) really sensitive. So you should just use a real mild cleanser. I had severe acne and as soon as I stopped using harsh cleansers/ exfoliating scrubs my skin started cleaning up. Especially these harsh cremes you get from the dermatologist don't help in the long run. I use a natural oil mix as a moisturizer because a lot of cremes/lotions have substances in it to keep it on top of your skin (to keep it hydrated) - but that can clog your pores. Sorry for the long command but when I was struggling with acne I found experiences other people had very helpful. So maybe this can help somebody. I also take zinc daily and avoid milk products...

    • @cv3083
      @cv3083 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Using gentle products can certainly help improve acne. However, I disagree with the statement regarding prescription strength creams. Retinoids have a well-established history to combat acne and this, along with sunscreen are your antiagers. It’s simply important to pair something like a harsh retinoid with gentle and soothing moisturizers, cleansers, sunscreens etc.

Some tips from someone who has done skincare for 4 years and does lots of research:
    1. If you have oily skin, wash your face with an oil cleanser. I know it sounds weird, but the oil in your skin mixes with the cleansing oil, making it easier to wash off.
    2. More is not better. I use 4 products all together. I recommend some sort of makeup wipes, an oil cleanser, a water cleanser and an oil free moisturiser.
    3. Natural products are good for more sensitive skin. I’d recommend natural products for everyone, but especially if you have skin that is really sensitive like mine. Chemicals will only irritate the skin.
    4. Don’t wear makeup every day if possible. It prevents clogged pores, and makeup may have chemicals that can irritate the skin.
    5. Have a consistent routine. Your skin will get used to this routine, leading to spots/irritation if you change it.
    6. NEVER SLEEP IN MAKEUP. Your pores can get clogged, and it’ll lead to spots and irritation of the skin. I can’t stress this enough.
    7. Check the ingredients, and research ingredients you aren’t sure about. For all you know, it could be something that could irritate your skin.

At night I use the ordinary alph arbutin at night or my acne cream, it depends on how my skin is doing and then two times a week I use the ordinary peeling solution. Lotion whenever I want with Nivea and always use spf in the morning

Sometimes a simpler skin care routine is better... I have really sensitive skin and I used to have an extensive skin care routine but my skin is honestly better now that I’m using about half the products that I used to

Vitamin c my fav is tatcha violet c, and peptides peach and lilly glass skin serum and good molecules peptide serum. And of course spf.

Best thing for my skin was switching to Korean and Japanese products. The dermatologist products just dried my skin. I got rid of my acne by not using acne products and staying away from certain foods. I have a 7-9 steps in my skincare routine. But, my mom has amazing skin and she only uses a cheap lotion from Costco. So, every person's skin is different.

I have a really long skin care routine, I first use the cleansing balm, then a face wash, an essence, toner, some thing that supposed to be for pores not really sure, then an eye oil , like two different eye creams, cream for my face, then lastly a neck cream. And twice a week a do a face and eye mask and I use a dermaroller.

clindamycin is an antibiotic. as much as it is effective on treating pimples caused by bacterial infections, it can lead to antibiotic resistance which is getting more common these days. having antibiotic resistance is very dangerous, i just hope she does not use it excessively and will only apply when necessary.
