HLA B27 alone does not mean AS. Orthopedic surgeons often base their decisions on blood reports alone. One would see inflammation on MRI in AS. Please speak to the rheumatologist in detail & aks him about other probable reasons if this is not AS. Is it fibromyalgia/ other causes of back pain?

Happy to know that you are so active despite AS. You need to talk to your rheumatologist & physiotherapist before planning full or ultra marathons. One needs to know the exact status of your AS & the fusion to guide. They would be in the best position to guide you. You can apply for a disability certificate. I am also suffering from AS since 2003. Though the doctors may answer you specifically but from my experience, as I have also taken Adalimubab 40, I could only say that "it depends". It means that after your complete course of medication i.e. Adalimubab 40, if your disease goes for remission then this injection could be discontinued. Then after 6 months or 1 year or more if symptoms come back, then you need to start it again. Now, you may ask, how to know if it's in remission? the answer is __ your pain, symptoms, blood tests reports, x-ray etc. will decide. And the call is to be taken by your doctor in only.

HLA B27 alone does not mean AS. Orthopedic surgeons often base their decisions on blood reports alone. One would see inflammation on MRI in AS. Please speak to the rheumatologist in detail & aks him about other probable reasons if this is not AS. Is it fibromyalgia/ other causes of back pain?

Sir, I am doing running & have done multiple half marathons, suffering since last 18 years. Got cataract because of Uveitis attack, my shoulder & neck has got bent also l3/l4 is fused. I am trying hard every day to beat AS, so want to know is running high distance 21kms & 42kms is good for me also I am taking Jaknat right now only so what other medicine to take aside to this. Happy to know that you are so active despite AS. You need to talk to your rheumatologist & physiotherapist before planning full or ultra marathons. One needs to know the exact status of your AS & the fusion to guide. They would be in the best position to guide you. You can apply for a disability certificate. You need to approach nearby government hospital for the same. I am also suffering from AS since 2003. Though the doctors may answer you specifically but from my experience, as I have also taken Adalimubab 40, I could only say that "it depends". It means that after your complete course of medication i.e. Adalimubab 40, if your disease goes for remission then this injection could be discontinued. Then after 6 months or 1 year or more if symptoms come back, then you need to start it again. Now, you may ask, how to know if it's in remission? the answer is __ your pain, symptoms, blood tests reports, x-ray etc. will decide. And the call is to be taken by your doctor in only.

Sir i am hlab27 negative but I have AS , i have pain in my back and chest ribs cage. There is deep pain while sneezing and coughing in chest. I took sulphasalazine and tofacitinib but both of not worked. Doctor suggested me infliximab but dur to side effects i have not taken.
I daily walks for half an hour and doing stretching exercises but no any improvement. Pls suggest me what to do i am tired of my life due to this pain.
