I have an issue with hik nvr. The status is offline but i can view it locally. Network parameters is synchronized with the router. Since i can view it locally, then internet cable is okay. But whats with the offline?
My DVR has another company listed other than HIKVISION. I have Guarding Vision. Can I do a custom change over to HIK by changing the server address in platform access.
Keep the platform access same and you can download hik connect app and use the same login details as Guarding vision app. It will work ok.
@@DORISCCTV Thanks. Could you elaborate somewhat? When you say keep the same platform, what do you mean. Are you saying Guarding and HIkVISIon are the same company or own both platforms? Just curious how it would work. I got the Guarding to work but HIKVISION seems to have a more user friendly app from what I have seen.
@@lt5550 Yes both app are using the same platform. You can download the app and use the same user login details.

Try a factory defaults and make sure your connection between the recorder and your router is stable

Because you are adding from Local network. make sure you scan the right QR code from platform access page into Hik-connect app.

You need to have the device serial number and verification code. Then you can add it manually.

that process only works if your phone wifi and NVR is in the same network...there should be another way t configure hik connect

My recorder shows "offline" eben though it is connected properly to the router, which is definetely ONLINE (cameras=>switches=>router=>DVR). Tried on/off/reboot... settings seem to be ok. When I go to "network test" under system options, I can even enter a website and send a PING, which seems to be working and results in a "OK-Box" showing me the delay time for the access!
Any idea where to look or what to check?

Once making the changed did you click 'Apply' at the bottom of the screen? In this tutorial there is no Apply button(maybe an older version) but mine was showing offline also until I clicked Apply to Apply the settings change

I have done everything. The device gets add too.. name is also showing but no live view. It says no camera linked or camera is hidden
You need to update your device firmware
Go to network settings > platform access and disable the encryption code.
You need to contact your supplier and ask him for the latest device update.
Some updates are not available online
If I turn the receiver on and off again, it is asking for setting again. There is a solution
There is a little battery inside the DVR/NVR motherboard, the battery saving the data and you need to replace it.
It doesnt allow me to enable DHCP, what should I do

@@michaelwharton1931 No problem. Make sure the DVR/NVR is connected directly into router via cable. Dont use wifi extender. Also go to Menu, maintenance page > Default and reset the device into factory default settings and re enable the hik-connect.

How many devices can connect?
As many as you want. but to add more devices you need to share into second device from your account. Go to app, click on More, manage share devices and add second device details.
