WOW! These are my exact symptoms. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 2 years ago after both my mother and son passed. Now, my doctor says I have IBS. My triggers aren't just foods, but dental procedures and mammograms as well! I usually suffer 2-3 full days with diarrhea and terrible back and upper abdominal pain. Then, it just starts to subside, and it's over... leaving me exhausted. This is the most thorough information on this condition I've heard. Thank you.
Thank you for giving detail of this connection which exist....i had right side paraspinal flank pain which has disturbed my routine very much....i m going to treat on IBS line after watching this video and inshaAllah (if God wills ) i hope my back pain will resolve
The way i know my back pain is related to the bowel issues is because it always first starts in the lower right back, and then within few hours or less it transitions to the lower left back. It usually ends when i have a good BM or pass a lot of gasses. Figured it myself, but not before starting a serious physical therapy for lower back :)
Yes! Sometimes that’s my first indicator a flare is coming. Once it’s over, the pain is gone. It wasn’t always like this but as I get older, last four, five years I’d say, here we are. Oh my gosh, you just mentioned leg pain. Yes!! I get pain in my thighs, my right more than my left.
Been fat since 2016 (due to depression and already loving food too much, but I wound up eating more lol) and nowadays, every time I stuff myself uncomfortably full, I feel this pain in my lower left side on my back. It hurts more when I lay down and it can hurt to the point that I scrunch up my face and turn over. This has happened before. I’m always terrified that it’s kidney stones. It’s my worst fear. I do have diarrhea a lot more lately and I fart a lot after eating a lot throughout the day. I don’t remember all the symptoms I saw when I googled this, but I fit all of them, just about. I do get constipated every once in a while, but not often at all
Yeah, it's confusing and complicated. But I think it can go the other way too - spine fracture and related back issues can be the driving factor for me.
My back pain went into my legs, terrible leg pain almost unbearable. I’m just about over this flare up but it was the worst! Had to do smoothies and pain meds and sleep, it’s nice to know it’s connected cause I didn’t want to go to ER cause they don’t know a lot about it and just run tests
@@pinkyjay1881Can you give me more details? I have low back pain, tight muscles plus hip pain and style sciatica. I've been having horrible constipation over the past few weeks. I'm even doing physical therapy for the back pain! I didn't know they could be related. How long did your flare last?
Thank you! I never felt my IBS symptoms in my stomach. Always in my lower back, and spreads to my ribs. That is why it took me years to realize what I was realy suffering from. So painful. Nothing seems to work. It will disable me for days and weeks somethimes. Feels miserable and depressed. Using a combo of 100 billions probiotics and enzymes. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I live in Fort Worth, TX. Do you jave any clinic around here?
Doctors say i have IBS (i have had diahrea for over 20 years) they only did one blood test for crohns, newer gave me a kolonoskopi, but the last years i have had a lot of lower back and hip pains, that comes and goes, sometimes it is cripling, but doctor wont scan my back and hip, symptoms are most like Ankylosing spondylitis. It get worse during the night and morning like AS. i did try the carnivore diet now for 4 months, it helped on my stomach but not my lower back and hip pain. Best regards and thx for this channel! :)
It's unfortunate that my insurance will not allow me to go to the IBS Treatment Center and I'm not interested in getting into debt with payment plans. It seems strange to me that I pay each paycheck for medical care with my insurance provider, yet they won't cover this. What's the point of having medical insurance? I checked with GEHA and none of the doctors at the IBS Treatment Center are covered under this insurance. IBS is debilitating. It's painful and disruptive. Insurance should cover the IBS Treatment Center if they are accredited and legitimate. No one should have to go into debt for medical care.
Insurance is in the business of selling insurance. Their priorities are much different than yours. If you limit yourself to only doing what your insurance company allows, then you will deny yourself the opportunity to take advantage of numerous advances in health care, including great IBS care. If we only did what many insurance companies allow, then we wouldn't be very good at treating IBS. That's what sets us apart, and our patients routinely tell us that it was a small price to pay to get better and that they wish they had done it sooner. Don't let your insurance company control your health!
Doctor, does irritable bowel syndrome and irritable stomach cause chronic pain in the upper abdomen and mid-back that increases with eating? I have had this pain for a year and I have visited many doctors and they do not know the cause of the pain.
Since 2020, every year in August to January I have stomach problems and visiting the chiropractic, and they know, en August they ask me if I am ok, but not after that, every thing is gone and I am ok, years ago, I have that problem but just with my mother in law stay a month with us, she already pass away, but now I am 54 and having this problem every year for 4 or 5 months. Waiting for January because I know I will be ok.
That's really interesting. It sounds like you are near a tipping point, and then something puts you over it for awhile. I wonder what that is? Regardless, we'd love to work with you to improve your digestion so that you're not living near that edge and don't have to unexpectedly go over it, which is what I think is happening now.
I wouldn't say that. At least I haven't seen that. Sciatica is usually about either a low back issue or a piriformis issue, but IBS wouldn't be helping matters any.
Hi doc, I have recently experienced this diarrhoea four months back and it's started flaring so many times in this span. But now from past 15 days i am experiencing back pain snd pelvis pain as you mentioned. I am going to washroom 5-6 times a day almost. How can i get cured

Huh, I noticed that sometimes I get nauseous that I also have back pain... For years, I thought it was unrelated to my IBS...but now I'm wondering if they are actually related.
Hi doctor I have had pain in mid to lower back and on both hips towards the tops. I have had lots of tests but no diagnosis. I have had my kidneys checked and they seem ok reading 87-89. Do you think it’s IBS related pain? I have also had a colonoscopy with nothing showing up. It seems to get worse after a heavy alcohol session or certain foods. Appreciate any pointers and thank you for Video. I have subscribed to your content.
It doesn't help. But in most cases there will already be something else weakening your digestive system and making it susceptible to the back pain. Meaning that the back pain is exacerbating a problem that is already there in the digestive tract.
