Something about this coaster is just so much fun. Sure it's a little bumpy but I've been on worse. It adds character. The drop is great, the airtime is great, it's got some decent speed, that classic wooden coaster feel without being boring, good lateral Gs and a fantastic night ride.
@@zoriian7484 nah, sometimes the rough and aggressive ones can be the most fun though. Perhaps the adrenaline dulls the pain for some or i suppose you build a tolerance for these things over time when you're an avid enthusiast. Our opinions and tolerances often vary widely from that of the general public because most of them prefer rides that aren't too rough, over the top, uncomfortable, painful overly forceful or terrifying. We enthusiasts gererally don't require this in a coaster but almost always welcome it and most don't mind if a ride is a little rough as long as it's enjoyable. We also tend to develop preferred riding techniques on the coasters that require you to ride defensively based on experience and we learn to anticipate whats coming next rather than be tossed about like rag dolls in order to avoid excessive discomfort. We tend to share these ideas among ourselves as well, so what may be genuinely uncomfortable to you might not even bother us much during the ride. Like neck pain on El Toro for example, never happens to me but it does to some, and honestly i didn't find Grizzly painful either time i rode it, just comically bumpy as is common among coasters of its advanced years and more primitive design.
I rode this today the first time, it was the roughest coaster I've ever ridden. It was extremely bumpy and violent. I had fun, but this coaster is ROUGH.
I rode that yesterday. This is way more violent than i305. I'm surprised this is still in operation given how rough it is. In this one you actually grip the handlebar very tight and hope the coaster to finish.
How steep is the drop? With the height being 87 feet tall. I'm going here in 2 weeks and I'm on the fence about riding this because I'm scared to ride a big wooden coaster. I've only been on Hurler at Carowinds and the Swamp Fox at Myrtle Beach.
@@ioxxd90 thanks! Hopefully ill ride it I hope i love it. And also I've rode way bigger steel coasters but wooden rollercoasters are for some reason scarier for me because of all the air time you get on the drops and its not much to hold on to lol.
@@GamerGirl_BRE that is generally the appeal of wooden coasters. the feeling of being out of control with little restraints is mainly of what gives them their appeal and you just don't get that experience from a steel track unless you are on a 30 year old Arrow but then you get those hard over the shoulder restraints which suck (talking about you Anaconda). its not for every one but I certainly enjoy them and the jerkier the better as long is it does not hurt but if you have back or neck problems then I would stay away from it. Racer 75 has better air time in my opinion but i just wish they would run one of the trains in reverse like they used to and I was so disappointed when they stopped that.
This is almost always my favorite ride in the park. Such a great ride!! I305 competes for my attention but I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Grizzly.
man i have fond memories of me and my highschool friends just getting thrown around crammed inside those small cars. there was rarely people in line so we'd get to ride like 4 or 5 times
James C Flight of Fear @ Kings' Island and Jokers' Jinx at Six Flags America (Maryland) are the same ride. And I *HATE* the Grizzly. I have since high school. It's always felt like I was going to go flying off the track in those cars. lol
so do you literally die....Grizzly is super painful, wish they'd just tear it down. They have Rebel Yell which is great, and the upcoming rmced Hurler "Twisted Timbers." Even if they replaced it with a GCI it'd be sweet. Has got to be the most painful wooden coaster i've ever ridden.
This doesn't seem like a bad ride considering almost half the ride time was spent leaving the station and making it to the top of the first hill. It's no Phoenix, but if I ever take my kids to KD I'll ride it.
I never got the chance to ride this, because it was always broken down when I would go there. Now that I'm 50 years old, I'm not getting on NOTHING!!!😂😂
James C I just have an important question for you. Are you going to have a chance to come back to any of the parks that you been to for filming more roller coasters?
This coaster is notorious for beating you up.... you will leave bruised and bandaged after riding this POS from 1982....and if your young and or small you might fall out....the bar is loose on young ones...they will catch air but not the good air. .
This was the first roller coaster I ever rode!
Same! It was by accident, too. Nice way to wake me up and prepare me for the others!!
Then I'm afraid you had a terrible introduction to roller coasters cuz this thing is rough asf
@@gigachad1087 maybe it was smoother when they rode it

Coasterlocity it hurts like hell but I love it
I like this Coaster. It seems to gain extra speed once it goes through the tunnel.
I think the roughness is part of the fun!
y'all like getting hurt don't ya

This coaster here is awesome and one of the best wooden coasters I have ever ridden
That ride is so shaken and it feelings like I’m gonna die and my head always hurts after but I love it so much
Noob haha loser
I went on intimidatior
@@Teegopoopy going on a roller coaster is nothing to flex about, so shut the fuck up dumbass.
@@lemonboi1317 I reported Trigerpoopy to TH-cam for breaking TH-cam's Terms Of Service for cyber bullying!
I love that ride too but it does shake a lot
The Grizzly, The Wayne's World Hurler, and The Rebel Yell Wooden Roller Coasters, are all three all-time favorites of mine-Always and Forever, Amen!!!
Such a great ride! Old school wooden coaster! Love it even though probably bruised the next day!.... all part of the experience

My ride was so bumpy! If your parks ride is a bit older or something then TRUST ME don’t go on it however, it was a scary and fun ride
The most PAINFUL ride in this park.
man i have fond memories of me and my highschool friends just getting thrown around crammed inside those small cars. there was rarely people in line so we'd get to ride like 4 or 5 times
This is a great ride but if you get headaches from wooden coasters I definitely do not recommend!
May I use this for a review? I will give full credit.
this was my first roller coaster and it was so scary! i had to hold my friend’s hand the whole time
My first was the scooby doo ride I can’t wait to go back I h8 carona
Same here I was nervous especially when in was the tunnel part but it is my favorite ride at kings dominion
I also just really love wooden roller coaster
I was 7 when I rode this back
Btw I was the girl screaming I rode the roller coaster I saw u with the camera
FOOD_FOREVER FOODIE_PERSON you had to ruin it, didn’t you ?
Nice. I just rode the Grizzly my first time on June 21, 2018
Vids of Anaconda, Shockwave, Avalanche, Flight of Fear, and Stunt Coaster?
Anaconda, Shockwave, and Avalanche were not running the day i was there
And Flight of Fear is impossible to film

Clone of Wild Beast at Canada's Wonderland. Wild Beast opened 1 year earlier but way rougher than this.
How bad is wild beast?

OneAndOnlySound rmc it.
Well it's good to know if wild beast gets RMCed I can still ride the original version here.
It’s an old woodie the beast wasn’t rough for me I did sit in row 2

LOL

When I went on this my glasses almost fell off and I had the first time experience of a roller coaster
A wind muffler works wonders. Costs next to nothing and only removes the wind noise leaving all the coaster sounds to enjoy.
This ride is awesome.
Who needs a chiropractor when you can just ride the Grizzly! Fixing people's backs since 1982!
LoVe this ride!!!!
I’ve heard this Is pretty rough But So Is GCI’s after awhile too
you might of already know but i want to tell you. if you want to go to KD you should ride it, it is still a fun roller coaster
Very rough coaster.
Stone 501 Not too rough if you sit in the front
Didn't Kings Dominion go out of business due to lacking funds?
When I rode this, as soon as the train came out of the tunnel I was ready for it to be over.
I remember riding the Grizzly, but it was a little shakey
Good memories
I think they RMC’d the wrong coaster.

Zachary Elder Possibly
Cool and nice and fun and it is fast

fun ass rollercoaster

Is the racer/rebel yell more thrilling I can’t decide
Rebel yell is tamer in my opinion. It hurts a lot less too.
