    I love the simplicity of this! Great video. If you want a pencil that you can clip onto your notebook or notebook cover, you could use a click pencil (also called mechanical pencil) or a clutch pencil (also called an architect's pencil). Click pencils don't need to be sharpened, their 0.3mm lead stays sharp just by using it, and they often come with an eraser. With clutch pencils you trade an eraser for an in-built sharpener and the lead can be shaped into various widths for writing and drawing.

      Hello Jessica, I am glad you find it simple. I love simple because its efficient and practical :) YES! I totally agree with your recommendation regarding the mechanical pencil. I will look into the clutch ones, hopefully will order and get it before my trip. THANK YOU!! for the great tip and feedback.

    I am not in a life situation where I can travel these days. But if I ever do again, I would love to do this. I wish I had done this sort of thing when I did travel a few times! I took a few pictures and did a bit of journaling for my one big life trip to Spain years ago. But I wish I had done more, and in a more organized way. We think we will always remember our experiences, but... as the years pass, the memories do fade. It's wonderful to have a record of your life! (I love your channel, by the way. I just discovered it last night and was up way too late watching.)

      Hello Yesica, Thank you so much for your feedback and I am very pleased that you enjoyed my videos. I myself had many memorable trips that skipped my journal. However, photos and albums brings those memories back. My Travel Journal include local one day trip or a weekend. Sometimes I journal after spending half a day in the park :) I also explore other type of journaling where I log Nature and Books I read. I look forward to always hear your opinion.

Additionally, I feel like your experience in travel would qualify you to maybe give us a small video on your favorite travel essentials. I love your videos, aesthetic, and tips! Especially the one about pre-decorating. I recently took a road trip and did NO journaling, every time I stared at the blank notebook pages, I felt no motivation. If I had some pages decorate lightly, it would have helped. Thanks for sharing!

    I really hope to do something similar for a month's trip. It is so hard to leave things behind! I always fill my writing board with a variety of single sticky notes to mark ideas and to make additional notes. Would love a video on how your trip goes.

      Hello Catherine, always happy to hear your feedback :) sticky notes is a great idea, I think I will add few inside my travel journal. I will be sharing on instagram footage of my trip and hopefully a flip through later. Have a beautiful day!

    I never understood the need for a pencil board/writing board until I started using a notebook that had thin pages. Yep, pencil boards are very useful esp since I use stickers, washi tapes, and ephemera.
    Small gluesticks are great but if you can find one that's cheap, get a small gluetape instead. Works faster and less messy. I skip pencils and go straight to my pigma microns when I'm sketching outside. I've also learned to leave my watercolors behind and just bring one brush pen (either one of my Tombows or Zig) if the trip is long, just so I can add shadows or fill in some spots during down times. I've seen artists/journal keepers here on YT who fill up water brush pens with ink.

      Thank you for your feedback. I love all your tips, especially the one brush pen. As for skipping the pencil, I need to practice :)

      @@journaldesylvie lol it was def difficult for me at first, but it ended up being a good practice for being more loose and forgiving with my sketches

    Thank you for the very helpful video. I wondered if you had a link to the small pen case and the passport holder? Thank you.

    • @journaldesylvie
      @journaldesylvie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, I am pleased you liked it :) I just added the links to both items in the video description box. If the items are not currently available, the site will show similar products. The pencil case came as a set of 4, however due to its small size, it doesn't fit any long pencils (such as the yellow one with eraser) but it fits pens and mechanical pencil.
