Okay an important question, how did you get your desk to look like that? I absolutely love it. Also, i love the way you present your videos, most of what you cover is exactly the content i want, to improve my journaling and my thinking about journaling, hopefully soon ill learn to decorate my notebooks with similar aesthetics as yours, although a in little bit more masculine fashion (gotta do some thinking on it ig)

Wow. This is a great way to journal about things I come across in this world! I can already see one issue for me... I don't like to collect things. I like to collect experiences. I went minimalist many years ago and while i do it imperfectly to this day, this is the major thing that shifted in me: I realized as I get older, I don't want "things," as "things" are disposable, whereas experiences are with me for life, no matter what. That said, in a Cabinet of Curiosities, I would need to not keep "things," rather take a picture or draw it in my journal. I understand that defeats the purpose of examining it over and over to inspire new questions and to really study the object, but my mindset is too far into minimalism to start collecting things after spending a decade learning how to let things go. Ha ha I love this idea. I'll just need to modify how I do it to keep my brain happy. :) Another thing I like about the Cabinet of Curiosities journal... It's like creating a museum on paper! That sounds very exciting. :)

I'm new to commonplacing, so I've been looking up video after video for tips on getting started. I have never heard of commonplacing, and when I came across your channel, I feel like I've struck gold! Thank you for the uploads. I look forward to learning from them.

Hello Sylvie ! Love your channel - became a new subscriber instantly ! Just want to say that your notebooks are SO SO lovely 🥰Just looking at them is such an inspiration !! At the same time your videos are very helpful and i took a lot of helpfull information and visual tips from them and incorporated to my own commonplace books. I have one problem though with which i struggle a little still - how to put my notes into a commonplace book when i'm reading multiple books at the same time. I am very eclectic in reading and often hop between books and also i try to commonplace after each chapter or two (mostly because i find it very daunting to do it all after whole book - it feels to me a bit overhelming to do whole books at the end. My readings are mostly non-fiction and so i have many many notes after the readout) Do you have any advice ? Should i maybe reserve some space for each book i read in my commonplace book ? (but then there is always a problem with how much and so on) In simple words i don't know what to do if i wanted to make notes into CPB from few books simultaneously. Thank you wholeheartedly in advance for any tip, Anne.

Hi, I’m from Brazil! I loved the video. I’m researching the commonplace book as a tool for organizing studies. I’ve tried a few times, but it hasn’t worked because I feel like it will end up disorganized and lost. For example, if I start studying an organization course or take notes from a book I'm reading, but then switch to another topic, when I want to review, everything will be separated. How can I manage this? Do you still recommend it? How can I access the book that teaches John Locke’s method?

Love your channel, that it is paper art without cutesy pastels, and the fact that you are focused on information and not the same self-help angle of many other videos on here! I wish TH-cam had suggested this to me before I started multiple themed commonplace/repositories books this year. Might have to start one or two over. Would love to see future videos on how you approach structure so that the information and art fits neatly and looks like it was organized like a graphic designer importing content.

What a gorgeous book you made!! It is really stunning and it looks to me as the most beautiful history book. Making history more fun then boring, your book is the best thing I have seen ever. I love history, especially of the Great Masters, pitty you wrote the name of Vincent van Gogh wrong, my fav painter and Dutch like me. I have always had the idea of starting a study, but now I know what the most gorgeous and efficient way would be. I just strated this last week my first commonplace book, ofcourse all about art, but it is nothing like yours. I love what I have done so far, but your video gave me al the information I needed. I have seen so many videos about commonplace books, most are just writing with evey now and then some pictures etc, But your gorgeous book is such a great inspiration. especially all the info around the margins, so helpfull. I am on my way, love what I have done and with your video I know how I can make it even more me then it allready is. Thank you so much for this great video, have a nice day.
