I wish the kilt was more common in the United States. I have always liked wearing the kilt as my ancestors were Scottish even going back to the Pictish era
Irish kilts are a bit newer - around the turn of the 20th century and began with solid colors: saffron, blue, green and I think one other. Some family tartans came along later. In the mid 1990s, county tartans were woven by one mill to go with the tartan craze after Braveheart.
Thank you for your comment, it is Robertson Hebridean. Very similar! www.scotlandshop.com/tartan-finder/robertson/shop-the-look?tartan=Robertson%20Hebridean
I came here to know about the kilts and their significance to the Scottish. I am an Indian and this kilt reminds me of dhoti that men in our culture wear traditionally
Lots of similarities in traditional dress! There is more information about how to wear the kilt on How to wear guides here too which you might enjoy www.scotlandshop.com/guides
Originated from the Irish 'kilt' (Saffron agus Léine) which spread to the Highland and Islands of Scotland by the Dal Riada is the actual origin of the Scottish Filleadh ('Fold' in Irish)
You miss out important intrinsic factors, pretty much never give a reasonable distinction to the difference between the modern kilt and a plaid, and you repeat content a lot… Feels suspiciously like mr gpt was consulted

Would love to talk History, with your. I am a fan of history, or His Story.
The tartans were originally, regional, because of the colors available, from LOCAL dye plants. NOTHING OF CLANS, EXCEPT LOCATION

Hi all. Breathe air. God made all. His son, Jesus, pardoned all.
Poorly researched video. No mention of the Allen brothers.
You're wrong kilt was introduced by english in the 18th century...
No you are wrong. They weren't introduced as they are seen today until the 18th century but a variation of that existed prior.
