This solo was actually done by brendan obrien who was producing ... apparently it was the last day and no one from the band was around to do it, so he laid it down. the guy did so much for rock music in general.
Hey Carl, great lesson as always, much better than other lessons and tabs (which show fingering that is just plain wrong and bizarre). One suggestion that may differentiate you from other guitar lesson video channels - a player's point of view window looking at the fret board showing your left hand fingering the notes. This matches how players see the fret board vs from a camera facing you.
This is fantastic I'm a keys player so I'm pitch bending and learning this solo for my band (we have no lead guitarist) . You make it look so easy. Thankyou for tutorial.
crap thanks again man. Perfect execution. When you slid up to the high note lick and did the major 2nd flat 3rd pull offs I was so impressed that the bottom note moved from major sixth to flat seven too. I never would of caught that in a million years. Brilliant
Hey Carl, I just dropped you a one time donation on Patreon for this lesson. This helped me out a lot on this great tune. I have to ask. How do you figure these lead parts out? Some of them are so buried in the mix I can't tell what they are playing. Do you use editing tools to slow things down? Very curious.
Wow .thank you so much for that nice guitar tutorial..I learned a lot 😊
Thank you Carl! I always learn so much from your lessons.
Superb. This is one of the best solos in rock EVER. Thanks for showing!

B minor pent and B Dorian
Just Minor and major pentatonic like most all rock songs
Brendan O’Brien on the solo
I came here for the outro solo 5:04 that some other video lessons overlook :D
Perfect
clear explanation 👍
Could you mention the modes the guitar player is using on that second part of the solo?

Carl, The lessons are super helpful. I need some help with The Difference solos by The Wallflowers. Thanks, Tony
Carl, The Handler by Muse please!!
Love you man. Thanks again.
you should do a yes roundabout lesson
Any acoustic lessons coming up Carl?
could you do the killers somebody told me
You're prolly the best out there, but would be even better if you played the solo first in context of the tune so we can hear it first
I ended up moving the opening bends to the 13th fret of the G string. I find it a little easier
Hey Carl do a lesson on by the sword by Slash plz....
Carl, The Handler by Muse please!!
Just Radiohead 😄🔥
Carl!! Can you please do a lesson of the entire song, solo and everything of Dirty laundry by Don Henley? Keep up the great vids man!
This is why songsterr can really screw you up. Songsterr's tab for this is so wrong. Carl's way make way more sense.
Carl is a machine!
He needs to just put tabs on the screen though.
You are the best, but your resting fingers get in the way (visually). Especially when you're bending. Peace and Love.
This kind of reminds me of the "Barney Miller theme solo
Is this a pentatonic scale? What rule do you follow to use a scale on a B or E chord? Thanks!
It's all a combination of the B minor and major pentatonic scale
Acoustic players are you guys feeling depressed I sure am
learn to play both…ha lol
1:50 thanks
2:49 cool!
7:11 ending is awesome
8:00
