I was waiting for this for a long time, thanks Carl you are the first who covered it, There are a million videos how to play the beginning of the song but nobody wanted to cover the solo. you are the best
Fantastic! I love how you show us the nuances and how to reproduce the magic. I personally am not interested in memorizing it exactly like he did it but I really love learning how he get's those sounds and using those lic's in all my blues songs and jammin my ass off! Thank you!!!!!! - Wag
exellent you are the best guitar teacher i have seen on the internet i'm french and i can exactly understand what you say!!! keep going you do a great job :)
The best teacher on the internet for sure, but just when I figure out and learn to play every note you show me...I realize I need to play it five times as fast hahaha
Practising to play it in a band. It is just soooooo long and pretty hard to play it at original speed. Playing the guitar for 3,5 years now and for me this is really challenging.
Thanks for the great video. Happy that we got above 600 likes. Looking forward to the outro solo. Shockingly there is not one lesson on youtube of the outro! And MAYBE 2 videos where the player even includes it close to what was recorded by BG. CAN'T WAIT!
@@WalyB01 You have probably found out after two years but if not I'll let you know. He is using pinched harmonics. If you move where you attack the string around the pickups you will get a different pitch from the harmonic.
Hey great lesson, the best of the best. Does anyone know what distortion box Carl is using here in this video been looking for something that sounds like this one great
Thank you sir, great lesson. Saved this one for the sake of reference. One small tip though... You gotta do something about your lighting. It's making you look like you're sweating profusely from every pore on your body :D
I use pinch harmonics on the second solo when I try to play it, sounds like there is at least 10 harmonics in the solo, I don't use any pedals so pinch harmonics are kinda My pedal, it's usually just a SG and and My Marshall stack,is it wrong to not use any effects or anything and to try to emulate The song the way I hear it
Always a pleasure to hear your take. You are by far the best out there. I teach keys and stringed instruments and when I have a question when it comes to guitar, it's you, hands down ! There are a lot of guys out there including some annoying clowns that people seem to follow. But you seem to always have the best take and usable information and discovery for me to pass on to my guitar students as well as tips for me to use. Best of everything Carl, Micahel Erikvon Hartung Check out my keys on TH-cam if you ever have a chance

Hey Carl-we need a lesson on the outro solo for Lagrange. No one else has done one.
Yeah was hoping for that, cause what is he doing to that A note. No idea where those sounds come from.
@@WalyB01 Both solo´s are based on the pentatonic. While the first one is based on the c pentatonic the outro solo is based on the a pentatonic.

Damn Carl... You are right about the small bites. Thanks for taking it easy and a little bit slower when you play it. Thanks for the lesson.
Do you have the second lead?
Thanks That's cool!
hey ,,,,, Great sound!! if you don't mind what kind of Amp/Pedals effects are you using???....... Thanks Eddie... : )
Teresa Saenz Hey Teresa, it is all coming from a Fractal Audio AXE-FX II... :)
Hearing it like this, it’s plain to see and hear that the Rev was heavily into the good old Beano Lp...nothing wrong with that ;)
killwr tone bro
What key is that? B sharp?
thank you
Thanks for watching Richard!
Will you teach us the outro
Outdo Solo lesson!!!
The second solo, friend
Now that I've got this down, I can finally attempt Smoke on the Water...
Is this solo the key of A-sharp? is this A-sharp pentatonic?
it's in C - using C minor pentatonic 1st and 5th positions and some of 2nd
Dude please do Why by joe Satriani
ya-guys you have to vote for this so we can get Carl to give us the rest of the song!!
If you really want to get closer to Billy G's tone, use the bridge pickup. But seriously, thanks for the pointers.
