Cristiano Ronaldo's final game for Portugal? 😢 Roberto Martinez on Euro 2024 quarter-final defeat

- Portugal head coach Roberto Martinez believed his side "deserved to win" Friday's Euro 2024 quarter-final against France, who advanced to the semi-finals after by winning a penalty shoot-out 5-3.
Cristiano Ronaldo-led Portugal failed to score a goal for a third successive, but unlike the round of 16 win over Slovenia, goalkeeper Diogo Costa was unable to make the difference in a shoot-out after the game finished in a goalless draw.
Joao Felix hit a goal post with Portugal's third penalty before Bradley Barcola and Theo Hernandez slotted home their spot kicks to send France through to the last four.
The teams' previous meeting in a European Championship came in 2016, when Portugal beat tournament hosts France in extra-time of the final.

Abel Ferreira of Palmeiras 2 time Brazilian champion 2 time copa libertadores champion among another 8 trophies in 4 years. He has expressed his desire to leave Brazil over the past year because he won every trophy in South America
Sergio Conceição with 12 trophies in charge of Porto now he is out of a job. I like his no bullshit attitude and his man management ability. Not to mention he was a great player and I have to take that experience into account
There’s a lot more but this list would be to long. Portugal is blessed to have a lot of great football brains at all levels from the youth teams to the A teams.
If the national team calls most managers wouldn’t turn down the call. It would be a easy replacement if the federation does decide to sack Martinez. But I highly doubt that due to the incompetence in the federation to begin with. So I’m really looking forward to the elections in October we need a change of hierarchy.
Barring any bad injuries, I'm sure Ronaldo will stick around for the next World cup, perhaps in a lesser role. He'd definitely wanna give it another shot.

Ronaldo didn't make touches to the ball, so others can touch. He didnt score so others can have the opportunity. He didnt jump high enough so others can leap. And poeple still call this guy as selfish?? What else you want from him to be a team player.
He dictates how the attack operates. They can only play one way with him. He restricts the options to play a different way. The quality of delivery from wide areas was poor and you play against high level defences when you attack centrally. The result is no goals. It speaks for itself. A striker who is more mobile and not just standing centrally could allow the other players to be better. He's still a great finisher but he has no pace, his elite level touch is going and he's not as clinical any more. Great player.. an all time great but he's almost 40, It's over at international level. Qualifying against bad teams he will score. Tournament level he's done. If he cared about his team mates he would move aside and allow them to build something without him. He should have done that after the last world cup but he doesn't because in his head he still thinks he's the player he was ten years ago.

Conceicao is a wonderful player but to jump neto, jota, ramos in depth chart is only because he is in the good graces of ronaldo having the family connection thourhg his father being a former teammate. It was clear when they even put him on leftwing a position he has never played in career. He only looked to cross to CR as well. Bruno being taken off early as your best player and PK taker all because he dared take one of ronaldos precious free kicks is embarrassing. CR was clearly angry as he started his usual long run up and bruno took it instead.
All of it is embarrassing and as a portuguese I can assure you the only one you brought joy to was ronaldo and those that insist on him playing because they are financially vested in him as walking advertisement.
