Oh wow! Actually… no. I’d never heard of Ghostly International. It was more based off a stylized version of a pac man ghost haha. We don’t always use black ghost on white background (we change the ghost color/BG with every record release) but I think that’s what’s bringing the Ghostly International vibes. We should try to get a record put out by them!
I like your videos but the staccatto editing by cutting out all the gaps while you talking is so so annoying. why is everyone obsesed by it ? sorry I just cant ….
I personally appreciate the editing.. especially because the chops have been done in time with the BPM / phrasing of the tune he's writing. Would have been way more jarring if the edits were done in the middle of a bar/phrase.
@@studioviper3016I def make an effort to at least cut on the beat- glad you notice. 😅 I’ll noodle around in one of these phrases much longer than I’m showing here and it just feels excessive when trying to watch as a viewer.
I Hear ya Mike. It drove me fucking crazy seeing that editing too… but i do see the purpose it serves now. There’s a lot of dead air and ‘umms’ and other vocal filler that just takes up so much time. I feel like these already run pretty long as is so I’m just tryna keep it moving. It’s hard enough for me to leave in flubs and experimentation I later throw away! Lol. But I feel those have value in demonstrating the creative process and how so much of it is just goofing around. Appreciate the feedback! I’ll keep in mind when I do the next one!
