I find it funny how people post comments on crossfit videos and dont half know what they are talking about.so what you power lift or olympic lift and then go do cardio.....you cant put employ them simultaneously in a work the way we do in crossfit. People in the fitness community hate crossfit because all around crossfit is generally better. If you specialize in power lifting or olympic lifting you should have a higher 1rep max....but can you 15 min in a WOD at 60% of your 1 rep max....dont be a hater.....

+Lawrence Wiggins That's the problem, they're technical lifts. People don't like crossfit because it's dangerous to perform technical lifts when you're blowing steam because you're doing it for the 50th time.
So something that is technical can't be done In a workout? That's crazy, how does anyone's form get better if not stressed in a workout. They are not lifting high percentages of their max in CF workouts. That's why it can be done
Lawrence Wiggins yeah seriously it's not high percents, we'll do a workout with high reps for deadlifts and I'll be at maybe 50% of my 1rep(I used deadlifts, because I'm most familiar it's my 1 rep for them)
Olympic lifts are the only thing I don't hate about CrossFit.

If Its is lowweight = cf dont Lift, if it is heavy= cf are fullof peds, (and bbuilding, powerlifters and weighlifting isnt ..sure) ifit is a regular weight =cfitters has terrible form(like only pros do the other lifting sports and whit perfecto form) if cfdokipping = is useful (like gimnasticis doesnt exist) if crossfitters get Hurt= cf is snap City (like neones get Hurt everyfucking Day doing football,basket, mma, weighlifting, well basically all sports,Ha ters gonna hate, but the ignorance about sports amaze me

Crossfit is simply a combo of oly lifting, powerlifting and strength training just with shit form instead lol! Competitive Crossfit athletes are very impressive but the shit that goes on at your local Crossfit gym whoooie, that shit is a physical therapists wet dream! Mainly middle aged people who pay 150 bucks a month to have some swole dude tell them "Yeah this shit is totally working bro, you look fuckin jacked today!" 450 lb deadlift for a PR and you just started lifting a week ago, go for it bro! Axle clean and jerk your bodyweight, should be easy as fuck bro! Strict form pull ups? Fuck that bro kipping pull ups will get you fucking yoked! I oly lift, train strongman and powerlift and none of them is better than the other! Oly takes balance, athleticism and posture. Powerlifting requires brute strength, coordination and usually some emotions. Strongman muscle endurance, brute strength and some cardio believe it or not (It takes some decent cardio to pull a bus for a minute straight!) Crossfit is kinda cool too I just don't like that they overcharge people for it and could care less about injury! Form is so important in oly lifting and powerlifting too if you don't want injuries! Strongman though is kinda like crossfit in the sense that you just do whatever it takes to move the weight, injury should just be expected.
GoodBitDigital I was exaggerating but still with the amount of Crossfit fail videos floating around I'm willing to bet a good amount of them are fairly similar to what I described
afrosoul4eva I oly lift, train strongman, powerlift, bodybuild, do endurance work, grapple, mess around with mma training so yeah I do quite a bit actually LMAO! Way to miss any single point I tried to make in my comment lol :) I don't have perfect form but I also don't lift weight that's clearly to heavy with complete shit form! Why do you think Klokov snatches 450 while these fucking idiots struggle with 265? Oh yeah that's right he did it with good to perfect form his whole life! You cant just oly lift for 6 months to a year and expect to snatch high 200's good form unless you're some freak of nature gifted athlete but that's still a stretch to say considering the discipline it takes to become a world class oly lifter! I by no means am a bum and I put my time in at the gym :)
***** LOL Rich Froning is nowhere near as well rounded an athlete as a top 5 mma fighter and I train strongman once a week oly lift 3-4 times a week bodybuild 5 days a week and train mma 1-2 times a week with my buddy who owns and mma gym in Mesa AZ. Crossfit is legit I just don't like the disregard for safety at the recreational level I could care less about the pros.

Isaac Beckel most crossfit gyms are actually full of people 20-30 and many coaches care about injuries highly because they have to have insurance for 1 and because they don't want to see their members getting hurt. And as far as kipping pull-ups, theyre usually only done in competition, while strict form is practiced in gyms
7:20 = crossfit in a nutshell. All of that hype for a 130 kilo snatch? Don't get me wrong, thats good, but think of this: Ilya Ilyin routinely snatches 185+ kilos (or 404+ lbs). Search 'ilya ilyin snatch' to see what a good snatch is supposed to look like.
Who cares if he made a mistake. And whats the point of comparing yourself constantly to an elite weightlifter, you are never going to the olympics so what's the point? Do your best and cheer on people who might be PRing or creating accomplishments of their own.
