Yeah especially once you re-pitch/time-stretch, you just get such a nice feel out of them. Its the best out of any sampler I own for character and texture. Thanks for stopping by again man!
I agree. Even my old mpc2500 I noticed that drums coming out of it had a particular punchy quality about them. Even with the mpc compressor turned off!
Taking me a little while to get used to things but slowly getting there. Did have it freeze on me today as well whist recording so had to start again lol....all good fun!
I've heard the CF card is the most reliable. I was tempted by the SD upgrade but heard it can glitch out a bit and it doesn't make any difference to the speed or storage size either as you partition it! Its basically like having multiple floppy drives in your machine if that makes sense. Hope that helps man my knowledge is a little limited on that area at the moment
Highly enjoy the workflow of these 2 together, keep them coming! It is a shame the new MPCs One/Live don't have the same tune of the old MPCs, its a lot more drastic the changes. Anyone noticed this or am i insane?
Yo man yeah the SP can really fill in the gaps thanks to its MFX I find, they make a great pair! I imagine the newer MPCs have completely different internals now so imagine thats why they've come to operate differently. Similar with the SP I guess with it losing that incredible pitching from the 202!
@@spvidz Yeah i really enjoy running my samples first on SP202 then to MPC then SP404/SP303 depending on the mood. I do go more often for 303 out of habit though and that vinyl sim comp, even though the vinyl sim is not as good i can always just use the hiss from your packs!
spvidz cool! I’ve got the same. Every time I switch it off I lose everything. So gotta bounce everything out before that. Tryna find another way. I want to be able to keep some sounds in it. Any ideas?
you gotta use the floppy drive or its game over when you switch it off yeah! People have done CF and SD swaps for the floppy drive - i'm tempted but I've also read a lot of people having issues with it
What cables do you use for the MPC2000XL (output and input)? I have a 2i2, do you think I need a new audio interface for the MPC2000XL? What audio interface do you have? Do you sample from your laptop or from vinyl records?
Have a genuine passion for sitting down and listening to music. Research jazz, soul and other genres of music and take the time to listen to albums and artists. Keep playlists handy to drop any tracks into that you think could work. Unfortunately it takes time but you will be rewarded hugely if you stick to doing this
Not sure where you are referring to in the video, but the fx added on the SP are added to the whole loop and will have had some sort of effect on the drums, maybe its just not that noticeable
There's no question the 2000 XL has a punchy fat sound. MPCs just have a way of making samples sound better coming back out than they did going in.

Thanks a lot man!
question.... So my floppy drive bit it the other day.... what do yall think is the best upgrade instead of going back to a floppy drive?
Please help!!

Nice workflow man - yeah the hiss from the 303 vinyl sim isnt that great imo - much prefer resampling a few layers from the various SX MFX together
what kinda storage you got for the 2k? do you have the card reader upgrade?
Naa man this is completely bare bones. Still on the floppy drive and don’t have any of the built in fx or 8 outs!

I use these - amzn.to/3ctLldx. You may need some of these too as your interface doesn't have RCA amzn.to/2YhcnfM
@@spvidz Can I just use TRS or guitar cable? Why do I need RCA? Does RCA have higher/better quality sound when sampling and also as output?
you could use those too probably yeah just give it a try if you have them. I think each cable would need to be mono
what do you guys recommend for finding samples along this vibe?

Thanks for watching man 🙏
it's good but it's not quite wonderwall
🤣🤣🤣
When you added the isolator how did it not mash up your drum loop it appeared it only applied it to the sample ?

imagine getting pinned by spvids twice in one day xD
🤣🤣🤣
No, thank you. Too much of that and definitely no need for it. Do your own
"200" in title, edit to be "2000"?
Good spot man thanks for that!
