Omg, today I also got a surprise of passing sbr when i wasn't very sure of it... That means i am left with only 6 weeks for AAA... Very inspiring Zeynep, I think I would also manage in this short time... Thanks 👍
Hi Zeynep excellent video. I am thinking of doing Advanced Audit and assurance soon. But my audit experience is seriously lacking. I got the exemption for audit at degree level so don't know much. Should I relearn the foundation audit stuff first and then sit the exam?
I didn't but it was hard. I am sure it would be easier if you start studying the foundation level but it was too much of a time commitment for me and I just didn't. Good luck!
merhaba hocam.

I passed SBR in 1st attempt within 4 week preparation self study. I am planning to write AFM and APM in June 2020. Any suggestion /notes to prepare for above optional paper please?
Congratulations on SBR. I didn't take AFM and APM so I don't have specific tips. But I find open tuition, acca free resources & one text book/kit (bpp or kaplan) is more than enough for me. I found out that technical articles were very important for AAA so it may be the same for other option papers. Best of luck!
@@ruzainiali Mainly the above mentioned resources. I don't like having too many resources to study especially when I have limited time. For both SBR and AAA, open tuition videos+lecture notes, acca past exams, practice to pass webinars and technical papers supplemented with one text book/kit (bpp or kaplan) is more than enough for me.
Hi, I came to check if you had a preparation video on sbl and I just thought to drop a message and say thank you… i had just 3 weeks and some days to prepare for AAA in March 2021 and I was panicking big time… this video helped me have direction and I followed your tips and passed my exams. Thank you so much for doing this. Please what other option paper did you do. I am struggling between which to pick between AFM and APM… I have no fondness for both and I struggled with both FM and PM
Congratulations on passing your AAA and thanks for sharing your experiences! So encouraging! I am preparing for SBL for March and would like to ask you if you read all the articles published on ACCA website for SBL? Thanks,
Thank you! I prioritize the recent articles & the exam technique articles for all exams and read the rest depending on how much time I have. But the more articles you read, the more confident you get about the exam and there are not so many SBL articles so I would try to read all and if not I would read at least one article per syllabus area if I'm short on time. Also if I'm weaker at a specific area, I would prioritize articles on that area to get a better understanding.
Zeynep Mercan Gongrats on passing your AAA and thanks for sharing your experience which gives me a hope to pass AFM this March since i just start a week ago 💔. I’m using Open tuition videos and BPP book to prepare to my exam . However, I’m not sure what technique articles you refer to.. can you guide-me in this? And I would appreciate if you share more specific tips for me

Hi Zeynep. It's really fabulous that you decided to share your experience and crucial tips over passing the Professional papers. I have got the exemptions for 9 papers too and will be taking my first professional paper in Sept 2020. I was a bit demotivated as every time I tried to work on a question for SBL I had no idea as to what to write. But I assume I will just have to keep trying and then look into answers and improve. I just have a quick question. Would you suggest I complete the EPSM before writing my exam? If so how long would it take to complete it? Thank you and congrats :)
When I first started SBL question practice, nothing I wrote was making sense and I did exactly as you said. It is hard to keep going at first when you feel like you don't know what you are doing but trying is the only way to improve. As for the EPSM, I think it is nice to complete EPSM before SBL and ACCA advises you do so but if you haven't completed it but studied well for SBL, I think you will be fine. I guess I am a bit late to answer but best of luck at the exam :)

Hi Zeynap! Your content is good! May i know if its possible to take AAA exams this december if now im only 40% into the content. Im doing self study AAA . But at the same time im also preparing for my SBR for which i took classes
Thanks! I took one paper at a time. That's really hard to know and the only person who can gauge that is you. I would say it would be too much for me but it really depends on you. For some people 3 months is not enough for a single paper, others can study for both in 3 months. It also depends on your background, education and work experience.
I had a whole month, 24 hours, and still managed to fail SBR and AAA. How was your working plan? How did you divide your 6 weeks time while working, watching video, do past papers, read articles? How many hours did you spent to study per day? Give me your tips! 😭🙏🏼 (i dont think ill be allowed any study leaves if ill sit for march papers) Thank you for helping.
I probably should have started much earlier but I just didn't have it in me to sit and study advanced audit for months. I usually can't study long hours even if I have nothing else to do and I do much better when I start early and study a little each day. For me studying two hours every weekday is so much better than trying to study ten hours on a saturday because long study sessions are very unproductive for me. Maybe you had a similar experience? Honestly, I mention most of it in the video. When you have limited time you need to be honest with yourself: I knew I didn't have the time and the patience to cover everything. So I decided past papers and prepare to pass videos were going to be my best friend for AAA and for gaps in knowledge I would go with opentuition. I watched more than one session of prepare to pass videos (one session is 15 hours and they are intense, they cover a lot in that time). day 1 of december 2020 session: th-cam.com/video/iW4qaaFQS1g/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=KashifKamran
Hello friend! I personally wouldn't dare and would take 1 or 2 in 3 months and the other 1 or 2 in 6 months. It's not just the prep but the exams take so much energy, I don't have it in me to sit for 3 papers in a week!
I'm preparing for SBL and SBR from today for June 2020 attempt.. What is the actual time required to complete these papers, I've been awarded 9 papers excemption.. Plz guide me
Hi! It changes for everyone but you have enough time for June. Just try to study everyday even if it's a little bit. It is ok to skip a few days but the more regular you study, the easier it gets. I was exempt from the first 9 papers too. Starting with professional exams can be hard but it's totally possible to pass. You have time, you got this!
thanks for your helpful notes is their any possibility to contact you i'm a junior auditor from middle east and it will be great to take some professional tips from you
hey, idk if you've found the resoruces but i've just checked out a website which is super useful for studying ACCA called ACOWtancy. i found out about it on someone else's YT Channel. check it out and let me know how it goes. i'm also studyng for my AA. Also I was wondering if you're doing AA and SBR together? because I was told you cant do professional strategic exams without having passed all the applies skillls exams first? Good Luck
Hi, I'm going to do SBR exam this coming September. I'm having a lot of trouble trying to finish a chapter because I had to refer back to my FR textbook over and over again. I fear if i keep doing like this i won't be able to cover all the chapters in time. Do you have any tips how to at least make my study for SBR manageable?
Hi Bobby, I'm doing the SBR exam in September too! I did my FR exam almost two years ago and I don't remember anything. So don't worry about referring back to FR text and notes, as everyone else is doing that too! However, if you are using a BPP or Kaplan study text (I'm using BPP), you'll have all the FR information included in the SBR text. This way you don't have to refer back to the FR text much as you are technically learning both FR and SBR. I will tell you my plan- I think it may help you as we are in the same position. I started about 2 weeks ago and I'm going through the chapters in the BPP book, covering approximately 1 or 2 standards per day and practicing it on the side. I aim to finish all the standards by this week and finish consolidation by the time june exam results come out so that I can start question practice. If I have any doubts, I watch the opentuition lecture on the topic (opentuition.com/acca/sbr/acca-strategic-business-reporting-sbr-lectures/) and If I still don't understand, I check out the acowtancy.com website. For extremely particular doubts, I ask them on the opentuition forum. Acowtancy chat can also be used for this purpose, they reply pretty quick. If you have just started out, I think you still have a lot of time to cover everything by the end of this month, so don't stress about wasting time. Also, planning may not be that effective as you don't know how much time the topics will take. So my approach is to make vague deadlines but do as much as I can everyday. In that way, I dont waste time making unnecessary plans With regards to question practice, start with the past questions first (advice of a friend of mine who completed SBR) and then work through the exam kit. One month of consistent practice should be enough I think. Remember that practice is more important, learning the standards will not be enough to secure a pass! In conclusion, just do as much as you can every single day and make sure to get in enough practice before the exam. Hope this helped. All the best!
Hello there, sorry I didn't realise you replied. Great breakdown on your plan btw, but I was wondering about what you mean practicing on the side while you are learning 1 to 2 standards per day. Would be great to clarify that haha. But anyways, it's now week 5 and honestly I have quite a lot of unfinished chapters and there's 7 more weeks before the exam. I kept thinking whether my study techniques & my study schedule are ever working at all. Let me tell you my study techniques & my study schedule, I had followed so far & see if you could give some advice. So my study schedule is study 1 standard for 3 days for 4 hrs per day from the FR textbook, make up the notes & review the notes but the question practice are left until Week 7 since its the start of my revision phase so that I can solely focus on just question practice and review my notes to learn from my mistakes during question practice. Unfortunately, it has not come to bear any fruits. I wasted a lot more time just to just read 1 standard for 3 days & affected my other chapters without any side practice. My other unfinished chapters are piling up and I am facing a lot of pressure to allocate those unfinished chapters in the limited time slot I have. Right now I am considering if I want to defer to December or stay on with September. It'll be great if you could offer some advice. Thanks so much!
