I want to make scrapbooks for my family and my all-girls outings. The DISC-bound scrapbook is ideal for adding and removing pages as needed. I have researched the We R Memory Keepers Multi Cinch DISC and the Mini DISC Cinch and found problems with these machines making clean, smooth cuts. For now, I will opt for the Levenger DISC punch tool. I will wait until the WRMK DISC-bound system has improved. Thank you for your time and this informative video. I appreciate it.
Thank you Lolly! These demonstrations that you do really helps us all out to know what to purchase. It saves us a lot of $ and time too. Thanks again!! 😊❣
WOW!! Thanks Lolly for such a thorough comparison - I used to think WRMK didn't sell inferior products, until I jumped out and purchased the Evolution die cutting machine. I didn't use it very long ( a week or so) and the gears jumped inside the machine, could not get the paper and die out without dismantling the machine - after the die was retrieved, the whole pile of plastic went into the recycle bin. Also had the same experience with 3 of the corner chompers, which I have always loved and used. The Levenger punch appears to be a higher quality!!
Oh wow! Sorry to see that there is some sort of defect on this one! Thank you for giving me the link to this one @Lolly Palooza! You made me remember that I have a pretty, hot pink, Big Happy Planner 11 punch that I’ve never even taken out of the box!!! 😩 Bought it maybe a year 1/2 or 2 ago in hopes to make my own calendars & journals! NOW, I’m on the Cinch kick?! 🙄 Lol 😂 TIME FOR ME TO STOP BUYING & GET TO ACTUALLY CREATING WITH WHAT I ALREADY HAVE!!! 😍 Many thanks!!! ❤
I have the WRMK and LOVE it. I made journals for my granddaughters and punched thick chipboard and regular paper and had clean punches on all of them. I liked the depth of the punch - it made it easier to get the rings into the holes and to turn the pages. I agree that WRMK products are not consistently good and find that very frustrating. But I had good luck with this one.
It's interesting. You would think that every punch comes out of the same factory, and all should be built exactly the same. On mine, the cutting part definitely doesn't fit the holes well. It's confusing.
This is good news. I hope mine will be better. The Levenger‘s hole punch doesn’t don’t go far enough into the paper to hold what I want to hold very well.
Great video. Thanks so very much. I was having problems with my holes on the Cinch also. As a rookie, I thought I was doing something wrong. This video help validate my problem.
Thank you Lolly. I was almost going to purchase a Disc Mini, until came across your recommendation. This will save a lot of money here in New Zealand. I will keep looking for a disc punch! Once again thank you.
This is a great video. As much as I love We R Memory Keepers, I'm gonna pass on this. I do own a Happy Planner Punch that works great for me. Thank you so much Lolly! You are the best.
Thank you! I'm looking for a cinch/zutter and this review helped me a lot. I think I will use mostly laminated papers and cardboard so I would need a solid machine with good cuts.
Thank you so much Lolly for your honest review. I was considering getting the WRMK, you saved me money & heartache! The pink & white is pretty but I figure I can get a Levenger & just add some pretty bling 😉
Thank you, I’ve gotten one of the Mini Cinch’s, but due to a stroke in my left eye I’ve not had an opportunity to try it.. now not so sure about it. WRMK has been a steady company until last few years. The quality has gone down. Think too many new products and nit enough quality control. I remember buying their large corner punches years ago, like 2008? and seems like same problem your hubby said. Not a good fit to complete the punch. Thank you for your honest review….
Really great comparison review. I'm meh about WRMK products as half is really good while the other half is just cheap and badly designed. I hate how they use so much plastic on products like that (I have the original Cinch and even told them I hated the use of so much plastic on it as Iike heftier products that are built to last). LOVE the idea of that look gift card book you showed.
This was a great review. I did realize however that we had two different goals. We’r’memory keepers has 2 mm longer tails to their holes and that will allow me to create covers for my Happy Planner. The Levenger holes were just too short to function well as a cover. (I tried) And probably for me, that would apply to any cover I might want to build at the size I would want to build it. However, it was good to know that for a little projects the Levenger would be better. Again, thanks for your thorough review.
Staples here in Canada sells the arc punch for 40.99. I have used this system for years. It outdoes all of those companies. It is a full size punch. I would even go to say heavy duty….
Thank you soooooo much, Lolly, for your honest review! What a shame about the WRMK's disc punch. They should never have released a faulty product. Let's face it, it's called a punch so it should be able to do just that. So disappointed. You saved me a lot of grief Lolly as I am homebound and only shop online and often, it is not worth it to send it back as shipping is very expensive here in Ontario Canada.
Thank you for this review. I was eyeing this WRMK one, I already have the Levenger. I thought WRMK would be better because, like you mentioned, the punches go in further. I thought that was a disadvantage on my Levenger, now I KNOW it's better! I'm set! 😀🙃😃
Thank you for your demonstrations, have been thinking about getting the WRMK but you have made my mind up. I am very particular about the quality of my projects so fuzzy bits are a definite NO. Thank you again
Hello thanks. Great I do I was just about to order I love the colors and design but it’s pricey not to CUT clean. Do you know if wrm keepers resolved the issue please? Thanks
Wow! Sadly, WRM's Mini Cinch Disc tool has cutting problems. The cost of this tool is no light matter. I am excited about the "New" Multi-Cinch tool, but it is also pricey. I wanted to make different-sized scrapbook covers and pages using the Multi-Cinch tool with varying hole styles. I'll wait for a few years to see if WRM makes improvements. I cannot justify buying a tool that doesn't quite do what I need it to do. I thank you for the demonstration.
I like the idea of the Multi Cinch. I looked into the cost of buying it all (Cinch plus all heads), and it was wayyyy too expensive. However, I'm sure I wouldn't want all the heads.
@@LollyPalooza I don't want all the heads either. I like the Disc cartridge. I can use the Disc style to add or remove pages in a scrapbook album, especially if I make a scrapbook as a gift. Using the Disc style would make it easy for someone who isn't into crafts. I would make a page that the recipient could add to the gifted album a lot of fuss. Amazon has the Multi Cinch Kit with 2 cartridges, a circle, and a disc priced at $114.99. But, again, if it doesn't cut well, I would not be happy. 😒
Thanks so much for sharing this. I would have consider buying this, but after your review I'll pass on it. Please give your husband a Thank You too for his input.
Thanks for this excellent review. I haven't yet broken out my WRMK Mini Disc Cinch and I'm wondering if the blades on your punch need sharpening? I think you can punch with aluminum foil a few times to sharpen. Did WRMK address your concerns? Please let us know how you make out. Thanks!
I used to think foil would help, too, but as my engineer hubby said, punching through anything other than paper will dull the blade, not sharpen it. Plus, this is brand new, out of the box. It really should arrive sharp. The fact that it doesn't is concerning. I emailed customer service and sent them photos. I asked if they would like me to ship this to them so that their product development team could look at it, but they said no -- they would forward the photo to the team. I got a refund from the place where I bought it, so nothing else needs to be done.
@@LollyPalooza Thanks for coming back! Yep agree it should be ready to go out of the box. Thanks for the tip from your husband. I hadn't considered punching other than paper would present a problem.
This is disappointing. I've always loved WRMK, because of their quality. When you pick up one of their machines, you know you have something sturdy in your hands. I hadn't seen this yet and probably would have snatched it up for just that reason - I automatically assume (there's that word lol) that it's going to be great quality and do what I needed to do. Unfortunately in this case, it doesn't seem to come out the winner. Price point with them doesn't usually scare me off either because - I'm willing to pay for quality. Every single WRMK tool I've ever purchased is still going strong. Another thing I noticed was that you have to have your hand under the punch bar with theirs and that looks a little uncomfortable - did you ever find yourself smacking your knuckles with the handle when you were punching? Thanks for the honest review - darn it 😅.
IMHO, when paying the sum of money required for each of these items, you shouldn’t have to “jury rig” the proprietary Levenger, nor should you have to trim out the WRMK cuts. Neither would be worth my $$. TFS this very informative video. Sharon
The only reason we need to rig the Levenger is that they make it to go with their journals. I've found that when I do any custom sizes, I use tape on several of my hole punches to mark where to align the paper
Poor engineering gets poor execution. 5 years ago I decided to spring for the bigger Levinger punch that usually costs $99 because I had a 25% off coupon. Five years later it still works great and I'm glad I bought it. I would buy it again if I had to. Sorry WRMK
Thank you. I had no idea it was going to turn out this way. I was all prepared to really like this. I didn't even "need" it since I have the Levenger punch, but I thought it would be a good tool to share with my viewers. I was very surprised at the outcome.
Wish I had watched your review before purchasing disc punch. I literally returned punch because it was dirty and I thought it had been used or was defective. When the new item arrived it was the SAME. This is just poor production/packaging. I expected better from We R memory keepers. This product is a definite thumbs down 👎🏾
I can handle a little grease more than I can handle poor punching quality. In a perfect world, there wouldn't be either, but I at least want the tool to punch.

How deep does the Arc punch and have you tried it with chipboard? I had read a review that said it would not work for making things for happy planner.

The box says it can punch 8 sheets.
