- I know I'm late to the party on this one, but I literally just found out about Recovery missions for the first time the other day, and wanted to run through it for the first time with all of you. Seriously, how is ANYONE supposed to know about this?

Recovery is a hidden mission which can only be accessed when the player is defeated and "harvested" by the Zanuka Hunter. The mission requires the player to collect their confiscated weapons and disabled powers, and escape from the Zanuka Project facility in the Corpus Gas City in Jupiter.

You can melee even while unarmed, it uses a unnamed fist weapon that does primarily impact damage (who would've thought)

Goes to show how non-threatening enemies are in Warframe. I bet there are a lot of people who have absolutely no clue about this because they never died to Zanuka.
Until it's a million level 300 and up enemies that one shot every health bar in the game. Then it feels balanced lol

@@StrikingPhoenix Don't need a Zanuka Beacon to get Zanuka. Need to do more of the Invasion missions and side with Grineer. Beacons just make it easier.

Did you know that pressing the slide button in mid air actually damages and staggers enemies? It literally works as somekind of flying kick.

I think someone did a stug only game, and to avoid killing people he did slide kills, I think which didn't count as kills?
I'm pretty sure it is literally called a slide kick or something similar. There are decrees in Duviri that give it effects.
This Recovery mission if it gets reworked, would be a good justification for a squad linked Sabatoge mission, kill power to release a captured Warframe, while you run a "Kid mode" side objective to get in range for transferance.

I got captured by Zanuka, when I was more of a noob, while playing as the vanilla Valkyr. It added another fun layer to the escape mission for me.

Fun Fact if you abandon, fail, or dont recover your gear the gear will be LOCKED in your armory until you play through the recovery mission and succeed.
Ever after I knew of that stuff I wondered why the Lotus freaks out so much when G3 are arriving but keeps shut when its Zanuka. Like that thing will capture your Weapon, your Super Suit, your friend. And she does not lose a single word about you needing to be careful

I'm here incredibly late, I'm at mastery rank L1 and I've never seen anyone get captured by Zanuka, thank you for doing the research we needed to see done.
Reason for powers being separate is due to them being equippable mods back before U13

I always don't even know Zanuka spawned when Zanuka appears on screen. Then next thing I know, Zanuka is dead. Either from my teammates attacks or from my own attacks. Lol
I remember I got captured by zanuka once, when is was still a humble newbie. Yoinked me right out of my squad
Omfg that would be hilarious and sad to watch a teammate get kidnapped, would be cool if that was another version of a secret mission If you're in a squad with someone who got kidnapped you get a mission to rescue him, could just use the players Warframe's look so you can escape by yourself still

they code all these random mechanics into the game and then completely invalidate them by letting you 1 tap every enemy on sight lol... classic DE, spending development time... not so wisely...
@@mw2zorzest you do know that half these things were coded in back when “one tapping enemies” wasn’t a thing and death by g3 or even zanuka is possible

DE has a habit of creating pieces of content and then leaving them to die a slow death, they do it all the time, Nightmares, conjunction survival, mirror defence, they all are basically forgotten, you do them once for star chart and you never look at them again until you need like 1 or 2 specific unique rewards, instead of updating the mechanics they create new ones, instead of making arbies they could have just updated the way nightmares work or fused nightmares into arbies so it would have the nightmare reward pool AND modifiers, but instead they made a gamemode with a grand total of ONE extra (barely) new enemy. Same way they never update events past the first one or two times they show up, so those events give nothing to people who have already done them, ghouls, thermia fractures, both events with cool premises and implications, but they mean nothing, you do them until you get rewards once and never do the events again.
There's a ton of content that just needs a touch-up, but I can't name a piece of content that got a big update past the first couple of tweaks and bugfixes that are necessary, heck, it doesn't even need to be much for something like the zanuka, just give the player a glyph or a bp for something, just so the player is then encouraged to explore the content.
When it comes to g3, that's quite a cool mechanic where people would have to play around the res shielding, maybe kill a drone or something before they can res their teammate, something interesting rather than stock grineer/corpus/infested number 85932.

I redid the recovery mission when Gas City remaster came out just to see if DE forgot to remaster it too lol. Sad you didn't try punching anyone.
I found out about the team mates energy bar at mr.26 .. so yeah ( playing as trinity and suprised pikachu the bar spiked when I did EV.)

Rak'Shar The Paladin God under the team mates name. It’s backwards though, it increases the opposite way your energy bar will increase
I got caught during a steel path mission, that zanuka was freaking strong
I heard about zanuka being able to capture you very early in the game a few years ago. But back then I didn't let it capture me because it felt like a shame to the low level I was to lose against an assassin. And then I just forgot about it until now.
So funny story, this happened to me. Way back when I first started playing warframe and up until this day, I forgot that it was zanuka. And not the stalker, so I've had this rage against the stalker. For so long and he was just Misunderstood. I feel bad now.
Nowadays you just feel sorry for the guy, losing his was to be wife and what not.

I remembered I was scared of Zanuka... back in 2013.
After I understand how Warframe damage system works, Zanuka is basically just another mooks I have to kill.
I just got LR3 and I was poking around in the codex... AND I STUMBLED ACROSS AN ENTIRE GAMEMODE I'D NEVER SEEN BEFORE
It was fun for me as well to find out about that for the first time. However my capture was still unintentional XD
I got downed by other enemies, Zanuka abducted me and the rest of the squad did nothing XD
Joey you can use your hands as melee weapons when you don’t have any. You don’t have to bullet jump, you can punch and kick
There should be a dynamic alert mission where if you are taken by zanuka, other players will get an alert rescue mission to save you, and you can't move until they initially come get you out of the restraints

I've been marked by zanuka for over 2 years now and he still hasn't ever shown up.
You can also lose your warframe to be "permanently" captured by failing the recovery mission. I have tested this but not if it was your all/only warframe. Only way to get them back is beating the boss

You could have just used punch and kick attacks/break necks, not everyone knows that though basically like if you have a sparing weapon equipped, just for that mission only. Your welcome.
I always just killed the zanuka hunter, i had no idea there was a unique thing when you lost to it.
I was actually enriched by this. I mean, i knew thanks to another video long ago that zanuka could capture you... but then when i tried to get captured my cat killed zanuka (i had a "legal" mark, i didn't summon it). After that i simply forgot to try again xD. It would be interesting if the rescue mission could be done in operator only. (also, those assassin types need to be buffed, like, a lot xD)
A few weeks ago I wanted to try out getting caught by it when invaded, but I had Hildryn, which would have taken it hours to kill, so I pressed 3.
i've played this game off and on for about 2 years and i've never seen or heard of this mission
I didn't know Zenuka could capture you, I thought when you died to him he would just screw off like Stalker does but I didn't know because I never died to it.

I've been captured by Zanuka three times. Twice as a noob & once at MR twenty one because I answered the phone in a solo mission & spaced out. What I can't figure out though is how to put spiders outside my liset!
I haven't tried it myself (the Zanuka mission--though i knew of it- nor the decorations outside the orbiter) but I believe it has something to tampering with the camera while on Decoration placing mode. Something about standing around the top of the chair thing in the Operator room.
you step on the Market console so your head is stuck in the cieling and go in Decoration mode, it bops you outside the ship and you can explore and place spiders or whatever you want :P

The G3 can capture you too applying a debuff so you deal less damage to grineer units.
Honestly I got literal flashbacks to DKDiamantes' play through of The Second Dream, the part where he genuinely didn't see the message of 'left click to use your powers' which would have let him kill the Sentients. He played the entire last part of that mission just walking slowly away from the enemies instead of killing them.
You walking through the entirety of that thing to find your Primary weapon without realising you suddenly have a bare-handed combat style...

I actually came across this a few moths ago when I said that Warframe could have a "survival" mission like in The Division, and someone alerted me to this.
I this this SHOULD be a proper mission, since now we have the Parazon in our kit. All it needs is a (Zanuka) boss at the end and it's done!
I hope DE fixes the lighting bug with the Gas City tile set soon. All the maps that use it, are virtually unplayable, because all the interior lights are off. You can only see where enemies are, with the mini map. The areas that are open to the outside are at least semi-lit.
fun fact, you can also get a special grustrag bolt from the grustrag three if you lose to them
Ah, you see, I only found this out because a friend decided to yoink me along for a Zanuka beacon run back when my Volt was barely rank 19, and me being the naive idiot I was I tried to kill it without my friends intervention. And then I died.
oh yes, i remember the first time i got captured by G3, i killed the stalker in the mission prior and was feeling cocky "ha, someone else trying to kill me? just try!"
next i woke up on a grineer base weapons naked

If you fail the recovery mission, you will lose your weapons and Warframe and have to complete other mission to rescue your stuff

I had known about this forever, but it never happens. To like anyone. DE buff zanuka hunter pls. The g3 also do a thing if they take you down successfully, you get reduced health or shields or something.

I've only been captured by a Zanuka once and that was loooooooonnnnnnngggg before the new gas city tile set. It was also when I was generally very weak because I was still a noob back then with a not yet fully kitted out Excal.
Haven't been captured since. Kinda forgot this was a thing.
Just so you know:
when you fail to escape you can try again later, but your warframe and weapons won't be usable until the recovery was successful.

I’ve been captured by zanuka once back in the very early days of warframe, (update 12-13) and never got captured again
Everytime I log on I say, I didn't know this was a thing. That's been my entire time playing warframe over the last 4 weeks! Ridiculous

I think they should rework it to be you can’t parkour without your Warframe powers. Even stripped down, parkour 2.0 makes this a breeze to get thru

I've known about this for awhile but have never done the mission, since Zanuka Hunter probably wouldn't last against my sentinel much less me
Oh yeah also you can glide slide feet first into an enemy to kick them down to the ground like a ninja. That will probably help you force ground finishers if you have a specific build that needs it.
I think I'd been playing about a year when I found out about this! I went and ran it once.
You can karate punch at the start and strangle a moa to death.
