- While we often listen to stories from our fellow students about their experiences abroad, we rarely get to hear from the other side of the exchange programme. Here are some international exchange students sharing few anecdotes from their stay at IIT Bombay.

@Good Boy obvs it's harder to get into IITs because MIT's acceptance rate is 6.7% (and that's the best uni in the world) but IITs' acceptance rate is 0.7% .....IDK why every other Indian kid wants to become an IITian when they can easily get into more elite unis and these unis will get them better placements as well!😶...the financial aid structure is also good in the western countries!
@Good Boy but what I meant to say is that they give quality education!...and if you talk about ivy leagues, most of ivy league unis give full aid financial aid to the students whose parents' annual income is less than 60,000 dollars!
Also, the alumini/alumnae contribute a lot to their school's income!
I know ivys are hard but the sate unis also give a good amount of financial aid!

krishna G McGill is actually ranked higher than Brown and Cornell - both Ivy Leagues in the USA, it's known as the Harvard of Canada and was instrumental in creating Hockey, Football and Basketball. Plus it has 12 Nobel Laureates - is including Ernest Rutherford who co-discovered the structure of the Atom. So yeah...
my bad i have never heard of that university , if that is the one of top universities of canada than that is ok.............
for us ranking doesn't matter , these days ranking system are bogus and fraud , first you must pay some money for rating agency to visit your campus and rate it .....second the parameters of judging top colleges are based on quality of physical infrastructure (which is not related to academic) and there is a parameter which is based on international students acceptance and their interest in the college , diversity ........all these doesn't cope well with iit because it is public funded institute which focuses primarily for indians ..........
if you rank iit by sheer number of acceptance rate then all iits will be rated like 1,1+,1++,......
well that is your opinion , and by the way do you know what is public funded in indian terms , the government not only pays for the academic education but also pays for his stay , and expenses .......creme da la creme ........
well europe universities are rich because the government spens 2% of gdp of institutions and students have to pay hefty amount with huge loans if government is not covering the tuition and where did all that money came from it came from colonies , take any europe country the story is same it is not limited uk,france,spain, germany......they not only robbed money but technologies ( don't say it happened 100's of years ago but that is when they got money )
indian colleges soon when the country reaches certain level of prosperity will bring in indian education system which is way different from western (which is mostly structured to make good followers and workers )
indians go abroad to study because they want to migrate to that country through education , or some who feels that country and university is doing research on topic of interest with ample of funds available .......already many in europe migrated to usa not because usa is better to europe than their own because it is the largest economy with many ways of making a living .....same thing happening now with many from usa and europe migrating to china and japan .......this has got nothing to do with leaving the country because they want better education or they hate the country
any scientist or researcher looks for funds it is quite common from ages where the people want to be funded to satisfy their ego or who genuinely wanted to prove something ...funds come from countries who are wealthy to fund those ( so many choose countries based on this )
about acceptance all billion people will not apply for college , and not all students apply for iits but if you look at the number of acceptance rate it is outstanding .......i am not talking about things in digits but in percentages ........and finally i am not in here for advertising iit ........
