Thank you so much Kevin for enlightening teaching, now I understand what it means to rightly divide the Scriptures. I just received , a couple of days ago, your MJLT of the New Covenant Scriptures and really enjoy it.
Thank you for this teaching. I once watched a video where the person thought they could interchange the KJV translations for a word that was given at the bottom of the definition. I suppose that falls under your 3rd point. She came up with some very wacky stuff.
Shabbat shalom, Kevin. I pray you and your family are all well, dear brother. Thank you for the informative and edifying BCP #67. I see you have a good handle on the dangerous heretic Mr Robert Holmes Bell Jnr with his progressive Christian word vomit, ridiculous Bible babble and lexical gymnastics. Good work, brother. Much appreciated. Stay safe and well. Sabbath blessings to you and all the family. David (UK) PS. I see you have a new student, Kevin 😁
I am confused why New Testament in the original is translated from Greek. If the writers of the New Testament were Jews, then why did they not write in Hebrew or Aramaic? Were the original writings in these languages destroyed during Roman invasion? Or, did the writers actually write in Greek?
I’m a Jew and my first language is English. Being Jewish doesn’t mean that you automatically speak and write Hebrew. First century Jews were still a product of foreign conquest, dispersion and more. Paul, for example, was a Roman citizen by birth. So the identity and experience of first century Jews had outside influences. Greek was the main written language of the region in that time. That’s why the original New Testament writings were actually written in Greek (despite the claims of some today that the original, lost manuscripts were in Hebrew or Aramaic).
Thank you Brother! May we always be rightly dividing the Word of Truth!
THANK YOU
