- Today was an ultimate fail... we had a lot of fun attempting the install of the Ultra Racing braces for the Type R! Unfortunately, the Ultra Racing braces were for a different model Honda, so they didn't fit the new Type R!

PRL makes the best intercoolers. I have their intercooler along with a bunch of their other stuff on my 2017 WRX and it made a world of difference. Plus the costumer service is AMAZING! 10/10

Good thing Mickey noticed that clearance issue in the hood. Prob would have damaged the vent canal if you you dropped the hood onto the bar when closing it

Sad to see you can’t put on the UR braces. Yes, there is alot of Honda Civic FC here is Malaysia rather than the FK8. I think there is only abt 6+ FK8 Type R’s in Malaysia. Sad :(

You are a person I truly look up to
Go Ktuner. Group forums on facebook on the 10th gens have everyone mainly using PRL and Ktuner. They all seem to get the most results as far as performance. There are others that have things for the civic like mishimoto, greddy, invidia and others. It varies though since some only offer products for the base models(ex,ex-t,ex-l) then the SI and the FK8 since their platforms are all slightly different.
I guess that's the confusion that happened here with your FK8. I Love the car and your videos man. I have a 16 Ex-T that I've had for two years. Glad you got a Type R.

We got alot Type R in Malaysia.EK9,DC2,DC5,EP3,FN2,FD2R,FK2R and FK8R.Alot honda Fan here.The UR bar they send to You is for normal 1.5T civic.

What socket did you use to undo the bolts for the front Strut bar? Also how much did you torque them down to?

What if you run a couple of washes on the front lower strut brace you might have just enough clearance to mount it

Most probably not, we don't get the US variants imported to SEA and it's much more expensive as well. Their site also has a warning saying "Fabrications based on Thailand models", and it's the base model Civics not Type R.
Hoopdey Dooped Yeah but with common sense you can make them work. For example add an inch or whatever onto the length of the mount for the underside brace to clear the resonator. The front lower could do the same. Strut tower might be a little harder.
Dude the one that goes on the front underside, why don’t you get some spacers and longer bolts, spacer in between the car and the brace then longer bolt through ? Should fit then

Sorry Dustin, from what i know, ultra racing only produce FC parts at the moment in malaysia, and so far only few using fk8r due to higher price + tax. Hopefully all sorted out soon for ya, and im from Malaysia and i feel shame about this.

WOW so many comments, GOOD and BAD, not big deal. We will take them all as a improvement ground. The FC2 and FK7 share the same chassis, now understanding that these braces were given to Dustin as a test. I do see where the mounting points are ... they are in the same place as the FC2/FK7. As far as the front strut brace, it bolts up with no issue with the exception of the hood air duct. The front lower brace below the IC looks different then the FK7 and the middle lower has the same mounting points, but why does the CTR have so much resonator? The FK7 is smaller. There are two additional item that we wanted to send out, but clearly it need the undertray plastics trimmed. - LEGENDS MEDIA, and Dustin, we want to thank you so much for giving us the opportunity.

All i know those Ultra Racing parts you got, aren't for the Type R civic... but for normal spec 2018 Civic

Dude Honda's are great but there are hardly ANY aftermarket parts for the new ones. I have a 2017 accord touring and i put every aftermarket part i could find for it and I ran out of stuff to put on the car after owning it for two months and about 5k later. I wish more company's made stuff for them. It's making me well mine to go but a new toy.

Those parts you bought were designed for civic fc and fk7/4, not for type R including the strut tower, oh my GOD 😂 I know it since the first minute... hahaha
I read that the hood vent is meant to aid in brake cooling. I definitely wouldn't remove that off of the hood, it seems to be true.. lol
Mark Harvey - It is not routed to the brakes. It’s to relieve positive pressure under the hood.

(Edit-Never mind you already got PRL intercooler).(Edit 2-Get other cold air intake not Injen).
CarPro Installs injen makes an awful cold air intake that doesn’t do anything but suck hot air in on the type r. I’m planning on getting the eventuri cold air intake because it has a box around it and dreamautomotive took their time making the product to make sure you would gain horsepower out of it and not just make a noise.

Of course there is no typeR in Malaysia.. Those price almost RM380k here...amost the same price of a house...maybe you got parts for civic 1.5 turbo, maybe there is different in chasis.
Vanguard Fwz You are sorely mistaken. The FK8 Type R is officially marketed here under Honda Malaysia, and not a P. I (parralel import) model. By the way, Malaysia is the only country, other than Japan, to have the FD2 Type R officially marketed by Honda themselves.
