Pay attention to the trend. ICE down about 15% since 2020 and EV’s up 5x. EV’s continue to get cheaper as battery costs fall, (down 51% in the last year), and ICE will only get more expensive to produce. The writing is on the wall, the transition is happening.
Curse these trucks and SUVs that are 4 ft off the ground. Yall are so unserious. Be having 2 kids; and a rabbit now all of the sudden need a 4runner, Denali or Bronco raptor 🙄
you also should do a story on the reason that a lot of people don’t transfer over to EV‘s is because our government is not building the infrastructure for charging stations. We are a huge country one of the biggest in the world. We need to have a lot more Options to be able to charge cars quickly or have battery swapped out immediately for long road trips because American love their road trips. I would love to have a electric vehicle, but I’ve heard horror stories of people going to charging stations. They’re broke they don’t work they’re slow. So our government like European countries need to invest the infrastructure for charging, and a lot would switch over But due to the all the lobbyist in our government, that’s gonna be a losing battle. You need to get the oil company out of your back pocket and start building us what we want stop listening to them and start listening to us. Some actual high-speed rail would be a bonus. We don’t have any like literally America’s lagging behind in every denomination That makes a country right now. This pipe dream of where the best country in the world is a lie. It might’ve been true 50 years ago, but not today.
Very expensive car sales are down, in general. Luxury ICE pickup trucks are sitting on lots for over 200 days. Speaking for myself, the economy is looking uncertain and I’m not going to make any big purchases right now. I repaired everything wrong with the wife’s 2010 gas car and it’s good for another 5 years at least. We’d like an EV, waiting for prices to drop.
This won't change for at least a decade. 60% or more of potential EV buyers can't charge at home, work, or out running errands. There also isn't a viable used EV market yet, but again, if you can't charge an EV you'll keep buying gasoline.
You make that sound like it a bad thing….you understand how electric cars work right? You mine for lithium which is limited and terrible for the environment
@@prestonphillips3375 You obviously don't. Lithium supply is abundant and using it is a hell of a lot better for the environment than burning gas or coal. Educate yourself!
I didn’t say using it I said mining for it…reading comprehension is hard for some. And no it’s not abundant or I wouldn’t have to pay 50k for a piece of plastic. Not to mention the fossil fuels it requires to run the power stations.
How about a different headline? More than 1 in 5 vehicles electric? Is that lagging behind? With everyone buying trucks?
I thought you were going to talk about trends. Look at the graph. Ice down, EV's up.
It's just not growing as fast but it's still growing
EVs are not going up, hybrids are. Even auto manufacturers took notice and are making more hybrids over EVs.

Electrics and Hybrids now hold 21% of the market? That is amazing progress. That’s how you should have approached that story. You’re welcome. 😂
The US 🇺🇸 has just over 1% of EV's on the road now. China 🇨🇳 has roughly 50% EV's currently on the road now.
China has a more EDUCATED society!
Seems like the CCP is forcing them to buy electric only.. their government is pretty corrupt if you didn't know
Chinese EVs are less than 33% of cars on the road. New car sales are about 50% EV. Big difference

Things will change slowly. One fifth of sales isn't bad really. The Cadillac Lyric seems to be a hit.
Could this be because car dealers and car producers push non-EVs and non-hybrids?

More subsidies for corporations than there are for the consumer

I thought the economy was in shambles and people can't even afford eggs?
What great news and you try to destroy it with that stupid headline. Embarrassing, CBS News.
They so expensive
They do not cost Gas Tax
Old news no longer true. Look for yourself
President Elon will require all citizens to buy Tesla
I prefer the term Emperor Musk 😆

No reason any new vehicle should cost more than $6k
Did you just arrive from 1950?!
I think trust that they can make a dependable ice vehicle is also falling apart.
what is the point of electric vehicles if cities can barely keep up with electricity demand???
Gas is still king for the time being.
Then make 1960s and 1970s muscle cars with big block engines!
Why buy overpriced junk
Exactly, that’s why ICE sales will continue to fall
Nobody wants a fruity electric car….especially if it’s a truck thats comical
😂 thank you for saying it.
Speak for yourself, we’re behind Asian and European countries. Because of that type of mentality.

Value proposition for the middle class just isn't there for EVs....
You mean for "American" EVs, because pretty much every else the Chinese are ripping it up
here is a good podcast about Ford Pro and its tech approach
