Exactly the same reason a.erica is going to be a very horrible place when the agriculture workers get deported, groceries will skyrocket and food will be scarce. Americans want the American dream not the poor immigrant dream.
I managed Indian IT workers for about the last 20 years of a 35 year career in IT. The only reason we hire them is they will work for about half of what Americans want and will work 16 hours a day. They are not more skilled at all. On the contrary, most come with no experience and are a waste of time for about the first 90 days.
Corporations want the Visa workers because it’s not about producing a good product that customers love that lasts forever. It’s about producing the largest amount of profit for shareholders. Americans aren’t profitable when they keep asking for fair wages.
There's a problem with your argument... Visa holders come to the US legally and get American wages. Now, would you like to extend your idea to construction, landscaping, farm work, and a growing number of industrial positions? Because then you're correct.
America stopped producing high quality products in the 1960s because Americans wanted CHEAPER products and that is why they started to buy Japanese products and then products from South Korea.
Companies get a tax break for hiring H1B employees through the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC). Research and educate the masses. That's the only reason why H1Bs sound better to them.
I have worked in Tech for years. It is a fast paced, long hours environment. We have skilled American workers that work hard and long hours but their salaries are higher. If a CEO like Vivek takes over a company, he will hire more Indians into management. It creates a more difficult situation for women in Tech management due to cultural differences. The women are talked down to, unfairly scrutinized, discriminated against. It has a ripple effect on most women working in Tech. Start protecting American workers and women.
@, Americans have the technical skills and capability along with a strong ability to think outside of the box and better present data to Executives in the USA. Tech is fast paced so it is normal for USA workers to put in 60-80 hours a week. Corporations often hire more people in other countries to do the same job because wages and benefit costs are lower. They will throw multiple engineers at the same problem. I like and respect my global counterparts but it often takes more time to clarify communications. American workers are being squeezed and our government is enabling it.
I'm not a fan of H-1B visas. I lost many opportunities due to corporate greed surrounding these visas, which are intended to lower the wages for American workers.
A lot of them really aren't more skilled... I had to work with a couple of H-1B visa "engineers" ... Some of their work ethics weren't any better than some of the people with bad work ethics here. They also weren't any more brilliant. One of them after working a year or so was even let go because they messed up so bad... How is Vivek Ramaswamy America First if he just views America as stupid?
They say they need the H1-B visa because they can’t find American workers to fill the jobs, but the leave off the last part FOR WHAT THEY WANT TO PAY. Many times they can get more skilled American workers, but they would have to pay for that experience.
Not only that but Americans are training their replacements. That being said if Vivek , Elon and Democrats and their pundits are saying that we don’t have tech skilled workers wouldn’t that make for a good argument to reform our education system and these universities. Data shows at this time we have more Americans in college than ever before so what exactly are they teaching them if not to be skilled worker? Also H 1B doesn’t just apply to tech jobs. It’s also under cutting entry level jobs which disproportionately affects black men. Remember when Trump said illegals are taking black jobs and instead of the media and democrats talking about the data they just hollered racism. Well data shows that black males are the most affected by illegals and H 1B when it comes to entry level jobs. Data also shows that 20% of these tech companies discriminate against whites and Asians. All that being said what Vivek said about American workers and culture was insulting and dead wrong. Maybe he should watch Save by the Bell because Zack got 1502 on his SATs whereas Screech scored a little over 1,2OO and the actual brainiac was Jesse. So he put out a pretentious insulting statement against Americans and their culture while not realizing the irony of how democrats talking down to Americans, and bad mouthing America is the same thing he’s doing.
Vivek just said that to gaslight Americans. I suggest visiting India. India is like going back 400-500 years with lots of corruption, dirty, lots of slums, fake gurus, #CasteSystem #Colorism and lots of scams. Wise Federal Governments invest heavily into their own citizens and native population first or citizens first. People in India don't even believe in human Rights nor individual Freedoms🇺🇸
We need jobs for Americans, not H1-B foreign workers. Foreign workers are paid cheaper and work longer hours, making the H1B Visa worker an indentured servant. H1b holders only help keep prices down, and the owner and stock holder put more money in their pockets, not the American worker. American Tech jobs should be high paying jobs for Americans, not farmed out to cheap labor.
"but that only helps the consumer" smh 🤣 it only helps the rich guy in charge. the swamp. trump and his friends.... how can yall still get this so wrong? you cant be this dumb???????
With so many people around the world who want to come here, we should only allow people who want to be Americans , People who want to assimilate to our culture, language and way of doing things. Real patriots who cry from joy when they become citizens. NOT the cheap labor that the billionaires are craving to bring into the country.
Yes we would want our own people to be educated, we want to produce our own goods, we want to eat our own food and burn our own gas. That makes total and complete sense.
The problem with that, is the average American has to go into a decade or more of debt to get the education required to fill the types of roles that are going to workers on Visa status. It's hard to compete with Countries that offer higher education at a fraction of the cost we do, or in some cases, no cost at all. It also doesn't help that we have one political party that's very anti-education, to the point of banning books, de-funding schools, and starting an anti-education culture war.
I like most of Elon's and Vivek's ideas, but I have to disagree with them on this. Having worked in IT for about 20 years, I can say that the reason for H1-B visas is not because America does not have talented engineers, it is because companies want to pay much lower wages. While India and other countries do have very talented engineers, most of the ones that are granted H1-B visas are not top tier compared to Americans, they are simply cheaper. However, companies are finding ways around this by simply sending jobs offshore to India. This is actually easier for them because now they don't have to sponsor the visa and they can pay even lower wages.
If you want "America First" then put your money where your mouth is. What they REALLY want is inexpensive but skilled foreign labor... which is the same problem that sent our manufacturing out of the US. They'll either use H1B Visas or they'll outsource completely and that worker will never actually step onto American soil... but it's all the cheapest option for them, that's why they take it.
I worked at a company that processed a backlog of H1-B Visas and the requirements are they have to advertise to Americans first and IF they don’t get any qualified applicants then they can select a visa applicant at a lower pay rate. They had to send in the ad, the resumes. When I tell you they advertised the lowest pay rate and Americans were not applying, that is how they slip them in here.
So a person born in the U.S grows up. Goes to college spends a hundred thousand more or less owing the loan. Is considered not educated enough to Musk to get a high tech job. Because a person coming from a third world country is better qualified for that job. I am sure all the high tech college graduates think allot differently then that. Never was a fan of Musk the day I heard about him. And have now become a person that wished he could be thrown out of the U.S and go back to the country he came from. And his buddy from India background can go back to his original country too.

No one elected Elon or Vivek. The MAGA movement was about blue collar and middle class people. It was not about billionaires. BTW- When they say not motivated, they mean that hiring USA talent costs more than they want to spend. They want talent that is "motivated" as in willing to work for less, needing their employer to maintain their VISA. America First is not about bringing in talent to work at lower wages than Americans, even if it's done legally. Elon is motivated by the need to make even more money, despite being the richest man in the world.

H1B Visas have NEVER been enforced. In the Early 2000's my career of Technical Writing in the software development industry was overtaken by foreign workers. Indians and Israelis came over on H1B visas and could stay here legally for 90 days. They all WAY OVERSTAYED, and there was ZERO enforcement. I ended up training my own replacement at 3 different companies before I quit and changed careers. This is a case of our government shipping our precious resources (skill) overseas for THEIR OWN PERSONAL PROFIT. Since then it has crept into many industries in the U.S. Our government has sold US expertise to foreign interests for personal gain. THIS is "Globalization."
There are more than enough foreign workers in this country. Save these great high paying tech jobs for our own “legal” citizens. Invest, educate and train our own citizens for these great jobs. No more excuses.
Then make our education system better? Americans raised here have weaker and/or much more expensive educations, which makes them less competitive against international workers
Unfortunately, Elon Musk says that you literally aren't smart enough to hire or train. He actually said worse but I don't feel like catching a ban in TH-cam comments over Elon Musk telling the American people the truth about themselves
I was a certified project manager with a BS, MBA, DBA and my job was outsourced and bevause of HB1 visas I could not stay in the profession. As a result I started a business and was wiped out financially in 2008. After losing everything I have been living in poverty since then. I am just one example of how Americans have suffered due to these visas.
What I am hearing is that our own citizens need better and specialized training right here in our own country. Not college, but IT schools, essentially trade schools for people with aptitude.
The types of roles that typically hire H1B, are doctors, scientists, engineers, etc. We'd need to find a way to make college more affordable for Americans to compete. That will never happen as long as we have one political party that's very anti-education, to the point they ban books and de-fund schools.
No there is that highly skilled training here in the US. The problem is, as a company you can pay a H1-B worker crap wages and they will take it vers paying a decent wage. It all about costs
@@LearningStudent-ey4ofThey're not even remotely close to typically hiring for those roles. 😂 A simple Google search will corroborate that it's almost exclusively tech companies. 😂

I was on H1B visa and I am not into IT. I did my masters in the US in mechanical engineering in control systems and worked for eight years before returning back to India. I have multiple granted patents from USPTO and I agree that H1B is a flawed system which is misused by many IT workers from India. Many consultancies in the US file multiple applications or use fraud experience or proxies to hire people. This has been the case for many years and it is only getting worse. I only hope Trump could fix this. Immigration system should be on pure merit and where there is real shortage of talent. There needs to be a better way to hire genuine talent and ensure thorough scrutiny of fraud applications.
Merits are hard to judge via interviews when they run industrial grade certification mills overseas, not to mention the inherent bias once they overtaken lead position in a team/department
H-B1 visas allowing big corporations to pay a smaller salary but also b keeps them from having to provide health care etc. This takes away from Americans.

H1 visa's were created in 1952..at the start of America's GOLDEN AGE and was a big part of it. We take other nations BEST and make them OURS strengthening us and weakening them.
Nepotism is alive and well in the skilled labor market. American CITIZENS should obviously receive preferential consideration for jobs in America. That's just common sense.
Speaking of Nepotism, I don't know why Trump is letting Musk steal the limelight regarding immigration visas. He did, after all, marry a Genius who received the highly coveted "Einstein Visa". This is a great issue for the Second Time Around First Lady to oversee, don't you think? 🤔 🧓 per BBC, 12Mar2018: "Melania Trump obtained US citizenship on a visa reserved for immigrants with "extraordinary ability" and "sustained national and international acclaim", according to a report in the Washington Post. Nicknamed the "Einstein Visa", the EB-1 is in theory reserved for people who are highly acclaimed in their field - the government cites Pulitzer, Oscar, and Olympic winners as examples - as well as respected academic researchers and multinational executives. Mrs Trump began applying for the visa in 2000, when she was Melania Knauss, a Slovenian model working in New York and dating Donald Trump. She was approved in 2001, one of just five people from Slovenia to win the coveted visa that year, according to the Post.... "
I've worked with entire IT departments in India and H1B1 visa holders. They may be cheaper but they don't add much value to companies and Americans have to hand hold them thru their work due to most being incompetent. Most are only good at memorizing things which is bad for production. There is no shortage of American citizen tech workers. Hire AMERICAN CITIZENS if you want to do business in AMERICA. AMERICANS FIRST. We do not care about your shortcuts at the expense of OUR PEOPLE.
I believe H1-B visas should only be issued for fields that do not have enough qualified americans to do the job. This would be specialty fields, and there should be a much more strict process of approving these visas.
That's already a requirement. Employers just lie and say they aren't getting enough qualified candidates. This entire "labor shortage" narrative has just been a ploy for mass immigration.
As Americans, we might not always see eye to eye on everything, but we stand together when you threaten our jobs. Republican or Democrat, NO to H1B Visas. JOBS FOR AMERICANS!
I think it’s incredibly myopic to say no work visas. People need to be able to come here to work for their job if their job has them coming to the United States for any reason for work. Just like there are Americans we have to go overseas for various points of time in order to do their jobs. There’s a balance that needs to be met.
I hired an H-1B worker from the Czech Republic. It actually costs more to hire an H-1B employee than it does a US citizen. There is a $1,000 fee that has to be paid to the State Department by the employer to sponsor an H-1B employee for one year. I hired them and sponsored them because they were better qualified than any US citizen applicant. The pathetic state of education in the US is forcing employers to find their qualified workers from other countries. It is also not the President or anyone in the Executive Branch to determine the number of H-1B visas issued. That is a power only Congress has been granted by the US Constitution.
There is only ONE reason they want immigrants. Just ask them one simple question: Are you paying those immigrants more because of the value u say they bring? We know the answer.
I think they were just pointing out that the average American has received less education and schooling than most other countries. It's most likely due to our higher education being the most expensive on the planet. 1/3rd of Americans speak and write with a 5th grade vocabulary. There is a reason why most of the world views us as 'poorly educated'.

@@axiomaticidioms3857 Exactly! The current system seems to create more barriers than opportunities. Investing in affordable and equitable education is one of the most sustainable ways to strengthen our workforce, instead of forcing young people to carry the burden of debt just to achieve basic opportunities. We're reaping the rewards of our poor education system! As a nation, we MUST have the best engineers. However, a search must be made among our citizens first.
How about they have them come on H-1B visas to merely use the best of the best to teach our citizens instead of giving away our middle class employment?
Ooooorrrrr, American companies could be forced to keep their money here by only hiring Americans to begin with. The output is exactly the same, the difference is the pay and benefits that Americans are willing to work for. Also, American companies should be banned from owning foreign manufacturering at all. The only product that should be allowed into the country from a foreign operator is raw materials, nothing else.
@@axiomaticidioms3857the best of the best are already in America. Why else would other countries send their students to study at our schools? If you are an engineer or know any engineers then you would know that America has many competent engineers. What these tech billionaires want is to reduce their salaries and higher dumber cheaper engineers that they can bolster using AI. Musk and Vivek were educated in AMERICA. Colleges filter out the poor performers in public schools and they get weeded out further in STEM programs.
My best friend is here on a H1B visa and he works incredibly hard he wants citizenship. He has been here since before the pandemic and completed his schooling here 😢 I feel he deserves it. He loves this country more than many of the people who were born here
This country has laid off hundreds of thousands of talented Americans over the last two years. The United States has some of the best universities in the world, and its citizens are highly educated and intelligent. While these individuals could be rehired, Silicon Valley corporations and others, often choose not to hire them because doing so would require paying top dollar. Instead, they prefer to hire non-American workers on H-1B visas, offering salaries that are 50% lower and providing reduced medical benefits and other compensation.
Importing people from other countries to compete with Americans for jobs floods the market and reduces the value of those positions. If we don't have enough talent here its because of two simple reasons. First, all the failures at the department of education. Second is the price gouging and pay structure which allows CEO'S to consistently take the lions share of the profits while skilled laborers live check to check. We don't need more visas we need better morals and competent leadership.
It is interesting that Musk and Ramaswamy, two foreign-born tech bros, argue the necessity of H1B visas, which support their industries. No immigration carve out for the agriculture and construction industries, which rely on a lot of foreign-born workers. Under-employment in the food and construction industries would hurt the country more than setbacks in tech employment.
OK, take out the foreign-born part. The rest of what the OP said is correct. Elon and Vivek only want H1 B visas which support their industries. Their DOGE is not about cutting government costs, it's about serving THEIR interests. It's certainly not about helping average Americans, many of whom voted for Trump. FAFO.
This issue can be easily addressed by amending the law to require H-1B visa holders in the tech, engineering, and manufacturing industries to receive wages and benefits equivalent to those of American workers.
A lot of my comp sci classmates were unable to find jobs post graduation because of this. These companies don’t want to invest in junior developers, not when they can find people overseas who have a year or two of experience and are willing to be paid a lot less.

Vivek wants all Americans to get dot on forehead 😂😂😂😂😂
Your implying that the ones who have obtained millions in their lifetime careers as American politicians care more, or at all.
yeah.. Elite dems don't care about Americans

@@scoth2930 In that case, companies using those visas should pay a hefty tax to fund engineering scholarships here in the USA.

Yes we would want our own people to be educated, we want to produce our own goods, we want to eat our own food and burn our own gas. That makes total and complete sense.
It wouldn't be in the best interest of National Security. (Sarcasm).
Then the rich would have to pay higher taxes so - not going to happen.
This is actually easier for them because now they don't have to sponsor the visa and they can pay even lower wages.
nice you support immigrants like them 2. getting rich off American tax breaks.
So they're pretending to bring back manufacturing while outsourcing all the tech jobs. We can't win.
Everything you just said is probably the truth The complete truth
With that visa program, he wouldnt have gotten Elon, or many other geniuses who made our country what it is today.

I think it’s incredibly myopic to say no work visas. People need to be able to come here to work for their job if their job has them coming to the United States for any reason for work. We don't need more visas we need better morals and competent leadership.
77 million people voted for Trump. Your saying that some of them have different opinions? Wow fascinating.
Not any opinions that matters.
Vivek is US born
Ramaswamy was born in the US.
FAFO.
why is it so hard to understand why Elon and Rambleswamp want H1-B visas???
This issue can be easily addressed by amending the law to require H-1B visa holders in the tech, engineering, and manufacturing industries to receive wages and benefits equivalent to those of American workers.
If Trump can't do the job without PRESIDENT ELON MUSK WHY DO WE NEED HIM 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"President Elon Muck". You leftist Dems are funny.
Trump is just ☠️ weight at this point LMAO
I never thought the leopard would eat my face. 😂
😂😅 Exactly
This is normal political discourse. You should really do some soul searching bro
FAFO Season in full effect 🤣
A lot of my comp sci classmates were unable to find jobs post graduation because of this. These companies don’t want to invest in junior developers, not when they can find people overseas who have a year or two of experience and are willing to be paid a lot less.
Corporate greed! Just shut up at this point Elon!
Save the best jobs for Americans. Americans are talented and don't need extra help.
Lolol as someone who went to high school over seas I can tell the public American education system is far less intelligent than other first world countries. They are right, we celebrate jocks over math nerds
You voted for him, so sit down and take it.
@MayaMaya-ye7rl where did kamala go? I've never saw someone rushed so fast out of the spotlight! Pretty hilarious, that's what she gets for having the diddy girls up on stage with her ( Beyonce, Oprah, JLo )
@VivaLasVegasX "overseas". I guess you were a jock.
Sure we do. We are only talking about the very best in the world, top level genius stuff. Sometimes you find that here, sometimes your find it somewhere else. We want the very best in the world. We dont believe in DEI, which is what you are wanting, aka only hire American, even if that means hiring someone less talented from somewhere else.
Keep jobs over here in America it's pretty plain and simple
President ELON!!!
You voted for president musk
@MayaMaya-ye7rl musk is not president. I actually voted for trump and he won.
Its to our benefit to attract the top talent from around the world.
Puppet Master in Chief
Buy an election & you can act like a president 😂
Every election is bought. It’s just a billionaire you don’t like so it’s an issue this time
arguments on Twitter about politics is acting like a president? my god someone better tell the entire republican & democratic party members, every political influencer, journalists, and commentator about this so they will quit acting like the president. how did we not know this before musk ?
@hugoschmeisser2484 your perception of reality is funny dude buys Twitter demand all follow the king then claim it's just speech 🤣🤣
Puppet Master in Chief 🤣🤣🤣
Exporting jobs abroad wasn't enough for the Tech bros. Tech bros. have using H1B visas to import cheaply paid high tech workers from India by the droves instead of hiring US tech workers. These workers are here for US citizenship. It is our high tech workers and college graduates who suffer for the Tech bros greed.
Here’s an idea: Allow for more selective H-1B visas (fewer with higher quality candidates) AND special visa category for foreign CEO visas to compete with US native born CEOs. Make BOTH more competitive.
Before Biden only 200k H1B's, currently over 700k :P
America was better off when it is 200k :)
I really like your idea. It’s a race to the top, not the bottom. Also really like the CEO visas idea as well. Make it more internationally competitive.
You all need to look at the companies that hire these immigrants to work in the US. If we don't have the talent here, then these companies have to look elsewhere, that's good business, correct? So you get the H-1B visa to get the talent, that's Capitalism, not bleeding heart liberalism. How many of you have really thought this whole immigration thing out? You rather go with emotions, instead of thinking how this country truly works. Trump knows better, but this is one of the things he became President on. He played on your ignorance and fear of the other, especially if they are brown.
Not a talent issue, just a wage issue.
@@AmeriGlobalexcept it’s not just about wages….. there are plenty of other ways to make sure we have more jobs for Americans yet you guys are brainwashed to think foreigners are the main reason you struggle🤦♀️ yea that’s done on purpose so you don’t blame the real people responsible
If the US wants to be #1, you get talent from wherever you can find it.
Thats right.
What you're saying is you exploit people willing to be treated like dog crap. Plenty of Americans good enough. Not enough that are willing to throw their life away and do 80 hour weeks forever. Worst part is it doesn't make anything better.
@@Codisrocks You have a problem with how the world is ran. This has been going on since the first nation state. They’re willing to come to the US when many other countries provide opportunity. Here’s they making more money than they would back home. They’re fighting to come here. Why would you leave your paradise to come work in Hell?
@@Codisrocks They come here to either become citizens or get rich then go back home to live very well. Some return home to start their own businesses. Elon is push for them to come here to work top jobs. They can stay home and sit around waiting on a job. The Americans with tech backgrounds went into the financial sector to rake in millions. People in India realized that left western countries looking for tech workers.
@ Are you saying Americans want to be exploited? The ones with hi-tech jobs are being offered 3x their pay to work for China. It’s so horrible sitting at a desk for 40 hours with the option to make more than you make in your home country or 3x what Americans who trained you make. So cruel
Just watch, what President Elon wants, does what it takes to make sure he gets it, and if not, throws a literal global scale temper tantrum
Yawn...not working for ya libby.
Puppet Master in Chief 🤣
Trump sided with Elon 😂😂 All those people who voted for "America First" are now realizing its "Billionaires First"
H1-B visas should only be given IF there are not enough qualified Americans to fill positions. It should not be used just because industries want cheap labor. Americans should be given preference.
The Narcissist Team.
EDUCATE AMERICANS TRAINS THEM AND GIVE THEM JOBS.
Remember, MAGA: This is what you all voted for. What President Musk wants, President Musk gets!
He’s apartheid Musk!
Still suffering from the Republican sweep I see.
Not gonna work libby. Trump and Musk are tight and they agree on this issue. lol Nice try though.
@@bobby-ov9qn uh yeah. we are all going to be suffering, no matter what party you belong to lol
We know what we voted for and we do not have regrets. 👏
Vivek ranmswammy is wrong , there are Americans that can work in tech.
Sure there are, but we are only talking about genius level, best in the world stuff. You hire the top talent from around the world if you want to be #1. Sometimes that is here, sometimes its somewhere else.
All while homelessness of American citizens is up 18%. Why can’t we take care of each other instead of chasing profits? That’s why we’re unhappy.
These corporations are already doing a lot of offshoring!! Someone needs to look into that and stop it. The greed for cheap labor is suffocating.
Don't forget doctors, engineers, etc
AMERICANS FIRST.
Let the $#@+ Show begin!
Even MAGA people are not Sure, Who is running the show. Trump or Elon. My bet is on ELON😂
We are smart enough to see you guys attempts to drive a wedge between the Trump team and supporters. It’s not going to work. You guys lost. Get over it.
@@Stallion_1044 y’all wish we were divided. 😂
Keep watching your mainstream propaganda.
@@Stallion_1044So because our side is having discussion on this one particular issue we are divided? Take a look at the Democratic Party right now and that is divided.
@@lordkuriki5475 I agree that, DEMS are in shambles as of now. But, you guys got scammed again. Its the PRESIDENT ELON Running the Show, not TRUMP. At least MAGA should have the guts to admit that fact.
Turns out Trump does indeed like DEI hires.
Welcome to Mumbai, America!
But DEI would be to hire only American when the higher level genius can be found elsewhere. So, place of origin takes precedence over qualifications/talent level. Your stance supports DEI, not Trumps. lol...nice try.
😂😂
LMFAO
Remember all the protests across the country on university campuses? There is your reward !!!
Racism for thee but not for me. That's how racist MAGA think and behave.
Poor maga realizes Tech maga hates them. Wheres American first😂😂😂😂😂
Sorry but I voted for Trump not his two Tech billionaires. He needs to take this presidency back before he is innagurated. The level of interference is a slippery slope.
Your apology’s not accepted!
Sorry Kare bear you get what you voted for. It’s done 🤷♂️
