    What about magnet fishing in saltwater? I live in southwest Florida where there are many many places to magnet fish off docks, boat ramps etc. however im hesitant to do so because more then likely your magnet will rust as well as possibly not even really finding to much stuff due to, again, the salt water just corroding anything metal.

    Gloves definitely a must have. Weil's disease a bacterial infection from water contaminated with rat or cattle pee can easily be picked up as many fishermen know, especially if you have small cuts to your hands. Not a pleasant illness at all as my son found after helping to clear fishing water of rubbish one time. He recognised the symptons and saw the Doc straight away but was still really ill for a fortnight.

Now we know that Silver & Gold is out, but is that only the purest precious metals? How about pocket change? Guns/firearms? Ammo...brass? Aluminum cans? I'm a disabled USMC Veteran and I am planning on trying out, thanks for sharing 👍

    To me a 200 lb 1.75 inch magnet worked for me, I even had only 25 feet of cord too, it was kinda macgyvered together but ended up pulling up a kids tricycle out of this large pond, I left it there so the kid can be excited about his old bike and found large fishing hooks, a small boat motor, and metal bars for construction, also found a few magnetic rocks I’ll have to classify and examine, but to me, the absolute minimum for magnet fishing is at least get a 200lb magnet.
    It was only 10$ and I already made my money back in scrap metal alone. It’s one of my essential tools now for mining and prospecting for things.

      Its only when the whole magnet surface has been connected to something so basicly you can just slide the item to the place where its connected least to the magnet and its easy to pull off. Jope u understood my bad english :D

      Hello, I'm a pharmacy technician, so I can help explain. He is referring to a "Tetanus shot".
      Tetanus is a bacterial infection that can cause muscle spasms and can be deadly. The odds of infection with this bacteria is possible without injury, but getting a wound like a cut or puncture with a contaminated item will get the bacteria right into your blood system.
      It is recommended to get a tetanus shot BEFORE possible exposure because there is NO CURE once you have it.
      In the U.S. we have an immunization shot called the "TDAP". It protects against 3 common infections in one shot: Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis. Once an adult gets the shot, they are protected against Tetanus for 10 years.
      If you haven't had the shot against tetanus in 5 years or less, the doctor will just give you a "booster shot" to keep you protected if you've had a potential exposure. Better to be safe than sorry. I think it's crazy he got so many shots in one year, but at least he's safe.
      You are likely to handle dirty items contaminated with tetanus while magnet fishing, so it's best to wear protective gloves.
      I hope this helped :)

    • @DanielBowens
      @DanielBowens  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      there shouldn't be any quality difference between brute and other magnets. They all literally go through the exact same manufacturing process and all companies order from the same supplier. They just put their own stickers on them and resell them. A few companies in china have magnet manufacturing locked down. That being said, if you dont get a flat solid click you wont be able to utilize the full force of the magnet. There are variables that can make a strong magnet get a weak connect. Hope that makes sense
