    Glad I saw this video! I was just looking up Doublesided vs single sided magnet. I just ordered the cone Magnet you had linked in this video.
    So far, the only thing I found was an auger for ice fishing that's still usable! I'm already hooked on this new hobby up here in Michigan!

    I used to search under docks with a snorkel and mask. 40 years later,I still have the scissors and BB gun that I found. The golf balls are long gone. I just ordered my first magnet and I am looking forward to trying it out. No snorkeling for me at age 60. I am also looking into a metal detector since it is what retired folks do, right ?

    • @surelyyoujokemeinfailure7531
      @surelyyoujokemeinfailure7531 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kevinsnelling6202 I think they meant some kind of reinforcement of the rope right where it attaches to the magnet, since that's going to be the part most exposed to wear and tear by rubbing up against the edges of stuff underwater. I would just use a noose knot like the guy in the video did.

    Poly Polypropylene, That`s the missing link I was wondering about a better rope/cord to tie off with mine are the Neodymium Magnets. Round not cone, One is 360 degree rotation. cords are like 60 feet way to short for me, been shopping for different cord, I was undecided well this video was educational so to speak

  • @tomservo3401
    @tomservo3401 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    One thing you should mention is it depends a lot on how you are fishing. This magnet could get caught just as easy in the V of a log/tree if you are throwing/dragging it. There are also double sided magnets that are good for dragging. The flat one sided magnets are also good magnets for bobbing say off a bridge or pier.

    Years back company called "magnitizer" claimed very strong magnets used for cleaning water pipes etc! (I worked for water pump company an tested to work) also single polarity good for plant growth good for fuel lines, all in various shapes an sizes an strengths! When out of business! But I got box of them! Their even rubberized coated! I have info if you wish! Ask an ill find it! Some you can't pull apart have to slide across faces to separate! Oh Baby for what your doing here! Look up magnetizers!

So my magnet is stuck and we need to get it out by buying more rope and pulling from the opposite direction but I also said the shape of my magnet it’s bound to get stuck but I’m in the uk and the cost of exporting would be way too expensive, I also don’t like how everything is from Amazon so is there another route for me to get one of these come shaped magnets 🧲
