It is always a learning curve on reloading and rifle maintenance. I still learn some little things once in a while about this round. Savage amazingly has been the best for repairs and service, they have re-barreled it and did other work at very low or no cost to me. The company has been very easy to deal with and this has kept me always coming back to them. Sadly most competitions I use to shoot aren't allowing this caliber and I've since moved to smaller rifle calibers, but I still use this rifle as my go to for private ranges where I can open her up to 1,600M. The 338 actually has a little less ft/lbs energy at 800 yards compared to a 308 at 100 yards. They are about equal with 300 LM at 700 yards to 308 at 100 yards. It still rocked the targets at all ranges though. It's a lot of mass hitting that steel.

That's cool that you guys got Guga, from Guga Foods to do that voice-over intro.
Another great video.
I would love to see a 9-Hole review of the Sako M10 (new Canadian sniper system) and how it compares to the AI and other systems
Finally, some magnums
I really want to see head to heads between the calibers at range
When you own a setup like that, the bullet cost is negligible compared to everything else. Very nice though
Man that round slaps. You take a throat shot at 1000. Endex.
I own an SRS and an MDR and I can say that they both function better in their full capability configurations. The "sub cal" configurations (especially the SRS magazines) work less well as they just weld a plate in the back of the mag to length. They work, but not as well as they do in 338. For me, the SRS always shoots better suppressed.
Folks that don't drink Starbucks shouldn't comment on it as they are normally wrong. An X-large(Venti) coffee at SB is about $2.85 but will vary according to area. Sbs XL coffee is about 10 to 15 more than the local chain convenience store. With the machines they have now they brew the cup when you order, it's not 2 hours old. I don't drink it at the store often but brew it at home everyday. Oh the Desert Tech ROCKS. I got to shoot one several years ago and the .300 is also no slouch
From what I've heard from different interviews with Ukrainian snipes, 338 LM is the main caliber for long range (1000m+). 308 is mostly for DMR or closer engagements. Of course it's not a rule and depends on many factors. Also, recently custom rifles from Cadex in 375 CT were issued to extend confident engagement range to ~2000m
Thanks, guys.
Headshot at 1000 is crazy!!
Dang. That Texas wind was really trying to make you waste a couple of 'top shelf' mixed drinks...

Would b interested in seeing either a Maadi ARM or an Eddystone M1917 Enfield in the PA/Speedway course.
nice shoot
I had thought that 338 LM was big, but then I saw an article about the .373 EnAbler. With 90% of its long bullet sticking out of the case, it looked cartoonish!
I love this caliber
this is awesome timing!!! i just did the same course of fire to 1200 today with my Barrett mrad, 300 Norma. with no misses
26:51 The only time I ever laughed at Jack Black
Stacking some of those rounds at 1000!!!
Ive never clicked so fast
