The Throne of Glass series is my favorite. Read Assassins Blade first though. It gives you a better understanding before you start Throne of Glass. You will love this series!!
Throne of glass is also my favorite but I wouldn't say reading assassins blade first is necessary. But I would say it's strongly recommended to read it at least before Queen of Shadows. I think I read it before Heir of Fire and really enjoyed it that way.
@@thebooknight Yeah I agree, I read it also before Heir of Fire. I definitely agree on reading it before Queen of Shadows because some of the characters do reappear. I liked reading the first two books before Assassin's Blade mainly because it felt more idk the word to my feeling, not knowing who Sam Cortland was and while reading Assassin's Blade it just felt much better understanding who he is, the position he held, the relationship between him and Celaena etc. I would say the first two books (tog and com) felt like a prologue to the actual series. Then Heir of Fire is when the series actual begins.
I read These Hollow Vows last year and it's quite similar to acotar in the beginning so it feels a bit predictable in the first half but it's soooooo worth it! and this september i read the second book of the duology and I absolutely loved every single bit of it -- it just kept getting better!! so I really hope you love it as much as I did!
Thanks girl! I had a hard mental day today too and traded & of course purchased some books at my local bookstore. 😁😉 Tks for telling us when you're having a harder day. Normalizes anxiety and I feel less alone in mine.
Hush, Hush is AMAZING! I just finished the second book in the saga. I love it. It’s similar to twilight but I really feel that it’s not as complex which gives the story such a nice flow. It’s not too wordy, it moves fast in a good way. I hope you love it!
Literally so excited for this video! And they are all the books on my personal tbr! so nice to have older books becoming popular again! I haven’t heard anyone talk about bone criers moon either but i found it in HPB. I feel like everyone’s read the mortal instruments and throne of glass so it’s nice seeing someone who hasn’t!
love that your getting into fantasy because I am too and im a total newbie and I absolutely love the video idea for testing out the 5 first books in each series. can't wait gor it
Love all of these - also so weird to see a B&N that still has bags when you purchase. Here in NY my store doesnt even stock any bags. You either bring your own, or buy a reusable. Almost miss the plastic or brown B&N bags lol
Omg love this and Hush hush yes I read it when I was younger and definitely want to read it again. I loved it it’s not like twilight at all and it just holds this special little place in my heart so nostalgic. I hope you get to read it and love it as much as I do. Love your videos 💕
Oh don't worry you're gonna love it the mortal instruments series, you're in for a rollercoaster of emotions! i really wish they would continue the movies, lily and jamie were amazing in it :( i miss that era
oh my gosh THRONE OF GLASS!! I loved it SO MUCH. Best series i’ve ever read hands down (in my opinion better than acotar.) The reading order is definitely controversial. I read the assassins blade first because chronological, the story starts there, then the ending of that book leads right into throne of glass the 1st book in the tog series. however some ppl read tab 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. it’s honestly up to YOU how you want to read it though! Don’t let anyone tell you you HAVE to read it a certain way because you don’t. Read it whichever way makes sense for you!! I’m so excited for you though, throne of glass is literally life changing those characters are so so amazing ❤️
Omg hush, hush just brought on so much nostalgia for me, that was one of the first series I ever read and made me fall in love with reading. And when I say I devoured them, I DEVOURED them. I never wanted it to end, it was that good. I never see anyone talking about them. Highly, highly recomend. I so have to reread it this fall, what a dream.
Just your friendly local librarian here to say that, if you want to read certain books but don't want to shell out the $35 bucks it costs to buy them in hardback, you should check out your local library! Even if they don't have the book in their collection, they can send it in from any library in the same system, or even do an interlibrary loan, which means they can ship it in from basically any library in the country! :)
I am in the biggest reading slump, just took a bookstore trip to get some motivation. BUT, I am in school FT. Hoping to make some time for reading. Love your videos!
absolutely love the shadowhunter world!! the mortal instruments movie didn't get the greatest reviews but i loveddd the books and they get better and better. i'm planning to start the infernal devices next month and i'm so excited to be back in that world!
I can't believe your barnes and noble still has penguin classics, I'm very jealous. All of the barnes and nobles near me almost completely got rid of their classics section
the fact about the Shadowhunters series is that the author's writing got better in time, so the first trilogies (the mortal instruments) are like the """worst""". they're still sooo good and the world is fantastic
most definitely read the cruel prince series!!! the first book is really slow until about 75% through, but after that it is so good. Trust me, it didn't seem like my type but i was thing about it for weeks after finishing. also the BEST slowburn enemies to lovers. like really slow, but they give you little moments to keep you entertained
These hollow vows was such a cute duology. It’s very ACOTAR inspired but a more PG-13 version. If you end up liking then I highly recommend the cruel prince series. Same vibe with the fairies lol (my go-to fantasy is anything with fae lol)
Jamie Campbell Bower is in the immortal instruments: city of bones also known as “shadowhunters” Movie. Which in my opinion was actually petty good. But they also have a tv show “Shadowhunters” if you ever wanna continue seeing the storyline come to life. Cause there are multiple books but they only made one movie. I also heard the books are really good! So I’m exited for you to get to them.
I’m 21 now but I read hush hush when I was 13 and it was one of my favourite series! I’ve been wanting to reread the series to see if Id still enjoy it as much as I did then.
i actually really love the unhinged pained woman dark topic but beautiful writing books (like bunny, the bell jar, etc) but very important that i’m in an okay mental state while reading
Hush hush is the first in a series of four book. I have read it and loved it. I loved it so much that I ordered the other three books and am currently awaiting their arrival.
You should read The Assasin's Blade before Throne of Glass. It's a novella but when I was reading the series a friend of mine told me to read the novella first because it gives you so much insight into the main character and I agree.
I’m so glad you are exploring fantasy and sharing with us. Like you I don’t read fantasy so I have no clue where to start. Thanks for sharing and appreciate friends here being supportive and make recommendations. Thanks y’all! Where did you get your water container? I see it would fit in the car cup holder.
Loved this video so much! I just found your channel recently and I immediately loved your content and subscribed! I watched so many of your book hauls and 24 hour reading challenges😄🥰💚
OK LISTEN i love The Mortal Instruments but it is the worst of Cassandra Clare’s series SO PLEASE GET TO THE INFERNAL DEVICES (which you read after you finish the first three books of the Mortal Instruments) BECAUSE THATS WHAT STARTS YOUR LOVE FOR THE SERIES and The Dark Artifices is A M A Z I N G and ugh it’s my favorite series ever and the characters are SO SO SO perfect just stick with it it’s so good
Throne of Glass might be your best reading decision ever! I read Assassins Blade right after Throne of Glass (first one) and I picked up everything so easily on the later books!

There’s 2 ways to read tog there’s the published order and the romantic order from tog you can read the romantic order so it goes tog, crown of midnight, heir of fire queen of shadows, assassins blade (technically that’s published first), empire of storms, tower of dawn (you can tandem read empire of storms and tower of dawn if you want there’s a chapter order online) and then finally kingdom of ash
I recently read City of Bones and LOVED it. I usually only buy books in series as I go but I bought the rest of the series after reading the first one. I think you’ll love it
So I have only seen the beginning of this video, but… I saw you pick up Hush Hush and I just have to say that the series is worth it! I love it to death.
A dream of mine? Going to a Barnes&Noble one day😂
Same but it's only cause there's no Barnes&Noble here 🥲💔
I felt the same until I went! It’s literally Waterstones if it had a Starbucks attached too it and all the books cost about triple the price 🙃
Bro same 👁️👄👁️💔
Same 🥺
@@katiemorgan1873 the books cost the same as what's printed on the back. Hardcovers are more expensive. Target and Amazon does sell it cheaper though
I am so jealous that destiny is reading the mortal instruments for the first time 🥺🥺 I wish I could have that experience again!!!!
Also jealous of the first throne of glass experience!!!!
The Throne of Glass series is my favorite. Read Assassins Blade first though. It gives you a better understanding before you start Throne of Glass. You will love this series!!
I agree!
i also own throne of glass (haven’t read it yet because i need to get assassins blade first!!)
