I've never tied a fly in my life but this is my favourite fly and after casting god knows how many of them into trees I decided it's time to bite the bullet and try to tie some. You've made the process look very do-able for a complete novice. I await the arrival of a job lot of used fly tying kit from eBay and I'm looking forward to giving it a crack. I'm not expecting miracles but I reckon if I follow this video exactly then I could create something passable enough to fool a salmon. Great video, many thanks. Hopefully it will save me a fortune.

I've heard that but I'm determined to stay strong and only tie a coup[le of patterns. My addiction is already to fishing so I have no interest in going down another rabbit hole!@@RyanHoustonflytying

Lovely fly Ryan, Though I rarely fish for Salmon since we're not allowed to take them. Only the goosanders cormorants and mink , otters seals and sealice from the salmon farms are allowed to take them . If I sound bitter, I have good reason to be. Great video though Ryan.

Hi Ryan, could I ask what size the hybrid cones are you use? I have some future fly hybrid cones in 4mm but they look smaller than yours! Would they work okay?
Thanks for your videos, lots of good tips and techniques.
