The people who had no time for the needy( though all those needy were Hindus),now had ample time to find faults with the Mother Teresa. I studied in a Christian school that is within a 200m radius of Mother Teresa’s “Missionaries of Charity”. We would volunteer and spend time at her old age facility. Have seen sun weird stuff.
I happen to know that ship loads (not joking) of toys, clothes, books and all kids essentials would be reaching Kolkata Port for her charity. But very few of these items would reach the orphans…
Not all is evil, but her most trusted aides weren’t honest.
It has since become a sham.
Is it possible that they sold the toys, so that they could use the money ? AND TRUST THE INDIANS not to cheat..
Why don’t you go and see it by yourself in all those charity ministries and then criticise, that too the one who follows her footsteps now are unable to do like her exactly.

I have seen the same thing too, but there is a the point that joaquimrodrigues said, maybe they sold those toys so they could feed those kids. The ones I went to really needed 24x7 help, most were physically and mentally disable.

In kolkata there was a man named Premdas Goswami he was in stage-3 cancer, and was extremely poor. Doctors had told him that he wouldn't survive more than 6 months as his condition was serious. Someone told his family about mother teresa and how kind she was, so they all reached to her for help. She helped them and guess what?? in 6 months he didn't die, infact premdas never died. Coz Peter Gonzalez died of cancer in hospital.

I have followed mother teresa from a young age, like we have literally read her stories and other's stories as role model right? I didn't believe some of the videos at first but then when I started reading about the complaints my heart broke. Honestly it was like when we are young and we idolise some people and as we grow up those images shatter. Wish it wasn't like this

You still are not familiar. And Teresa claimed to be the angel, she pretended to help the poor while she used the poverty for years and filled banks of Vatican City. On one hand she has helped a few on the other hand she has kept away the resources to herself which could have been used. Same needles were used for multiple patients do you even understand that's next to killing the patients willingly? I knew these long back, just passed out from St.Teresa's Secondary school, Kolkata. Honestly, I feel fortunate for not being brainwashed like my other classmates and understand the underlying intension of these Christian Missionary schools. They didn't even leave the chance to cut off Rakhis or holy red threads on our wrists .I was ashamed to be a part of this school for the last 12 years and now want to forget all the memories.
I have also studied in a catholic school and thier they also cut off our Rakhis and red threads .

I agree with you too. I completed my high school 3 years ago from Loreto Convent, Delhi (same Christian institute of Loreto sisters which Teresa joined) and honestly the way they treat people of other religions, especially Hinduism is like hell. Christian teachers and students were in majority so obviously hating on Hindu customs, rituals, and of course our Gods was used as the prime example of teaching. There were stupid discussions in classrooms regarding Hindu temples, and nobody bothered to care about hurting the sentiments of people like us. So am I ashamed to be part of such a school. And I vowed myself never to join any private so-called Convent school or university again in my life because what they show on the outside is very different from inside.
Then who asked u to study into a convent school ? Who brainwashed whom ? Don't you know everyone has the right to share their own religion there are lots of Christian people converting inti hindu and their are lots of Hindus converting into christians ... It's all about their own beliefs u can't just say they convert schools brainwash people .... I am also from Kolkata and yes 80% schools are Christian or u can say convent here ... I did my schooling in a convent school and obviously our teachers, staff members were all Christians. We had a really intelligent teacher in our school she was pursuing her PhD then and that was the 1st time our class got to know what PHD is. she used to always share information out of the syllabus and some very intresting info. Once while teaching about mother Teresa at the end of the class she told us that mother Teresa was only here in India to spread Christianity and there are many dark truths about her which no one discusses. Being a 10th class student it was a instant shock for us. I was flabbergasted and forced to do a personal research on her. Now when I learn about her and colonial India I feel immense shock that there's so so much more to know and there are tremendous and hell lot of things which are still kept under the carpet. Insane

this is a wrong line of thought. India's economy was and still is crippled by foreign powers. Missionaries came all over the world along with aggressor who conquered the natives by various cunning mean and crippled the local economies. The poor and vulnerable then fell pray to missionaries free food. Remember there is no free food in this world. Even parents do not give free food. They give because you are carrying their genes and serve as security in their old age. 1) Will i touch people with leprosy and wash their wounds without any hesitation with only service mind as Mother Teresa did
2) Will i seek poor people and meet their needs
3) Can I leave my country and my family and go to someother region just to spread love of God and to serve the people and make sure their suffering is relieved. I Thank God she chose India..

At the peak of anger, the rich man spit on Mother Theresa's face and started scolding her.
The divine Mother, patiently cleared it and with unimaginable patience asked him,
"Thanks for what ever you gave me, but what will you give to help my poor people".
The rich man got stunned by her response and gave her sufficient funds to help the needy people.
She never had ego while helping people, which most of us have when we do such activities.
Her only intension was to reach out for people who are in need and help them. She always believed that she's just a tool being used to help others.
She never took the pride of her achievements. We should try following her path to the maximum extent possible.

The work she did and her sisters continues doing is breathtaking. She and her sisters leave the comfort of their foreign countries and also many Indian sisters leave their families to forever serve humanity. Can you imagine? You and myself and we all are busy making our career and future, money, bank balance, marry, have children, expensive cars, schools, houses etc... while Missionaries Of Charity sisters sacrifice their whole full life in just one saree, simple food and day and night serving humanity without a salary! Can we do it?

To think there is nothing wrong Mother Theresa. Many hindus abandoned their kids or parents during sickness. Zero survival of patients who was sick so she just wanted them to die peacefully.

A German magazine aslo revealed that only 7 percent of donations to the organization were used for charity.
And Forbes revealed that the first home she set up had a mortality rate of over 40 percent.
I believe that, in the end, she probably sincerely believed she was doing good work, and genuinely felt her various compromises and shady associations were in service of a just and noble cause. Were they? I personally don't think so, but I believe she did.

I am from Kolkata and have studied from both St. Teresa's Higher Secondary School as well as from Loreto College... both being places where Mother Teresa had taught. At that time there was a voluntary nomination for all students who wish to do social service for which I enrolled myself. One of the places was the orphanage home which was under missionaries of charity. I got to actually work with Mother Teresa and her aura was very calm n strong and the orphanage was well kept. I also got to meet Princess Diana When she visited Mother Teresa because of this. Being a Sardarni I wear Kada on my wrist but in no institution was I ever asked to take them out. I too have heard a lot against her... but since I never got to face her evil side (if she had one) I guess I will stick with what I experienced.

As an institution run by humans, I won't deny that there are errors and a nber of failures but all in all I believe that she and her sisters have contributed much to the poor and marginalized sections of society... I myself being a medical doctor have worked with Mother and her sisters in different capacities... In our state of Meghalaya it is always the sisters who are at the forefront of helping and providing basic care and a space for the severely handicapped, the elderly, the sick destitutes where even other NGOs won't go near... Infact the government has many collaborative ventures with these sisters where in most of the major districts the Leprosy colonies and the TB center are helped by these sisters... I've visited their home of the aged...they were very simple, sometimes lack hygiene, and tend to be overcrowded...but what I also noticed is the love, the care, the dedication these sisters have while providing care and also the peace in the eyes of the inmates who are under their care... I believe as a society we should stop pointing fingers at them for with so many hurdles they are continuing their work... And I myself used to criticize them alot before but then I realised I criticise but I have not done even 5% of what they are doing...any work is not smooth...if only I could have the courage to pick up a sick man from the street and bring him home rather than criticize...

Having lived in Kolkata, I have seen the good, selfless work that Mother Teresa has done for the poor and downtrodden. We used to feed a lot of beggars in Kolkata and occasionally help them with medicines when ever we could. On one occasion we came across a very old man who had wounds in his back and feet, he was in pain, dirty and hadn't had bath in months. Later we found out that there were maggots in his wounds. We couldn't find a way to take this man to any government hospital so asked the institution of Mother Teresa to help. 2 nuns arrived arranged an auto rickshaw and lifted the man and took him to their institution.
A few weeks later we visited and were glad to see the man recovering. Many years later we heard from the man who was grateful to Mother Teresa but also remained Hindu and explained to us that he was never asked to convert. As a hindu with firm beliefs in Sanathan dharma, I will always be grateful to mother Theresa.

I am nobody to judge or comment on a person so highly applauded and who dedicated her whole life caring about the downtrodden , sick and underprivileged.
What my view is after watching the video is that if we just go back and see, we would know that she helped the homeless by giving them shelter, the hungry with food, the sick with very basic treatment and the dying by giving them a chance to survive if possible and if not, then giving them at least a little more respectable death than an animal down the street. I had been the speech translator for Mother Teresa (MT) when she came to Kerala for the first time in 1972 to start her Missionaries of Charities (MoC) branch in Trivandrum, Like in all Christian charity organisations, they are controlled by the Church organisation. So the funds are mainly generated by Church and Christian organiastions and since they also have many other organisations to also support, the money can be spread out in certain percentages and not totally for one specific activity.
MT never lived a rich and pompous life and she and her followers always lived a poor and simple life. None can deny that.
Regarding mistreatment and not giving the right medications is all lies. All patients who cannot be totally looked after her are sent to Govt hospitals and health centers but they are the guilty ones who show helplessness and send them back to MT and MoC.
The big question is why are the non-Christian charities not coming forward to do a better job than MoC? Why? Why? the answer is they are least bothered and just prefer to criticise those who do charity work.
MoC had definite shortages of funding and so they can only do what they can with their limited financial resources. Why do people like you and your group never step forward and supply MoC with medical help?
How long can any organisation continue to serve the poor and dejected full-time like a paid service? Do you know why non-Christian organisations don't come forward? Because they cannot get adequate funding and even if they get it, the higher-ups will start looting the funding as well.
There are so many accusations that MT has hidden money stashed in various bank accounts in different names. If that was so, why did it never reflect on her as an improved lifestyle?

To be honest, I'd rather have something than nothing. Imagine if there was no Mother Theresa in a newly independent India ravaging from famine and poverty and sickness? perhaps the sickness and poverty would have consumed more lives. I was once asked if i would dress up the wounds or feed a single meal to an abandoned boy on the roadside, for which i didn't know what to say. But the fact that someone lived their life to do that to atleast make the lives of these suffering a bit better than what was is significant enough. Let's put ourselves in this situation and think for a moment.
Unfortunately we love putting things in boxes of good or bad. While in reality people are differing shades of grey.
The sick patients were screaming in pain and they were only being baptized without their consent instead of giving proper medical treatment. Does this reduce their suffering in any way ?
@@yaminisingaravelu4107 when u are using absolute words like "Only" in ur sentence as in "they were ONLY being baptized.." are u certain of this being a Fact and that there exists no bias in ur claim as to whether they got medical treatment or not? 🤔 And u have mentioned "instead of giving proper medical treatment", that's exactly what i said, I'd rather have something than nothing, if there was a top-notch medical care service available for free at that time which catered to the abandoned people rejected by the very society they lived in, then obviously I'd prefer that any day over Mother Theresa's but could u tell me if there were any? 🤔 Nope? I thought so.. hence i say again, I'd rather have something than nothing. If I happen to be a leper sitting on the roadside with no one even giving me a piece of food or a destitute thrown out of my house and made to beg, i wouldn't mind a lady giving me a place to stay and food to eat and dress my wounds.. I'll be least bothered if i even have a religion.. I'll be glad i have a life that is not pathetic as earlier in the roadside.
Exactly!! Those who are so proudly condemning mother Teresa should ask themselves if they will even do .01% of what she did. Leaving her own country, learning foreign languages and customs adapting a saree instead of the gown which she could have and caring for those on the streets. Their own mother and father did not care for these people who she gave shelter. There are limitations to what she could do being in a nun. She broke many boundaries to serve God by serving him in the poor and had saved many souls.
