Yes, in India, we use to practice exogamy and to practice endogamy was considered as taboo in our society. Then we started to practice endogamy and created caste. Exogamy is really important. Read "Caste in India, its mechanism, its genesis, and its origin" by Babasaheb Ambedkar. This is not the book, but thesis which he presented at Columbia University. This is must read book if u want to understand how we shift suddenly from practicing exogamy to the customer of endogamy? After reading it u will get the scientific reason for why we used to practice sati pratha, child marriage, and also other wrong customs.

That's why in Hindus, we practise Gotra System, people in same gotra can't marry, as they are said to have the same ancestor. Thus it significantly reduces the chances of inbreeding.
Not only genetic disorders, inbreeding leads to Infertility. Even if Both the Gametes are coming from closely related individuals then there's a high chance that Fertilisation won't be taking place as the Gametes won't feel the attraction towards each other and hence it's difficult for fusion.
Consanguineous marriages are allowed in most parts of the world. I have a doubt about the Parsi community.. There is a difference between inbreeding and marring in their own community.. Inbreeding means it has to be in your own blood line.. But in the community means you have to marry someone in your community like if u r tamilan u will marry a tamilian it’s not inbreeding...
jitna diverse bloodline utna accha. we practice endogamy thats why we have caste and tribe based genetic differences. i remember headlines a certain caste/tribe member were not suited for certain anti biotic.
Even if individuals of a particular community or caste, keep marrying people of their own community, there are still a lot of chances of genetical disorders in the offspring because less variation.
Don't you understand that a community = a big family? So that in a sense, you are marrying your own faar cousins. I assume you mean caste when you say "community" and not the people native to a certain state (as your example was: q Tamilian marrying a Tamilian, irrespective of their caste tho)
It's all a bunch of nonsense. Humans faced many population bottlenecks where a few thousand individuals interbred and produced variety of offspring in a couple generations. People have been fed with this diversity agenda for social justice and what not while actual historical data proves otherwise. But alas everyone is a scientist today and will preach. Diversity isn't always better. One DNA that's crappy mixing with other that's good won't make it better. But nowadays people have a habit of projecting their social justice ideas on biology itself
Thank you so much for this informative blog. In South India some communities are still in this problem, they doesn't able to understand the effects of embreeding. Because of poverty and illiteracy. I was against cousin marriage because it sounds disgusting to me but as a biology student when i actually learnt the true genetics, it is catastrophic to follow incest. I once read an article where two cousins married each other their five daughters had extreme fatal congenital abnormalities and several of their children died premature or had a stillbirth. Now you know why their is a scientific reason to deny consanguineous relations. Well we are in 21st century and its no long when people will be marrying their own siblings and call themselves 'modern' 'new thinkers' 'love is love' and incest a thing to be proud of.
I recall the concept of "Gotra" in Hinduism that is considered before marriage to escape marriage within same lineage (same-gotra marriage is prohibited)
I think its really hard for a non biology student to understand this but overall you will lose your partner offspring or both if ur family is in a long inbreeding chain ...its really common in south india and they still have a strong faith on pureline concept.. loved the video😍😍

Our Manipuri elders were advanced in science, so we have a system of classification(clans) and our manipuri(meitei) surnames are classified into 7 groups: 1. Mangang 2. Luwang 3. Khuman 4. Angom 5. Moirang 6. Kha- Nganba 7. Salang Leishangthem. They are called yek(clans) People who are under the same clan can't marry. For example a person who's of Mangang clan can't marry someone of Mangang clan because it is considered family inbreed. And marrying someone of the same clan will lead to birth of babies with abnormal condition, early death of the man or the woman, etc. And so, no one use to take someone of the same clan.
Something similar is seen in our tribal community called Galo from Arunachal pradesh where people are grouped into specific clans. One clan can have various surnames however all these surnames which are actually the name of our ancestors share the same ancestors and hence society does not allow these to intermarry. People from different clans are allowed to marry each other but the ones belonging to same clan aren't

I have a question ..in India still in some regions we have strictly been told by elders to only marry with a partner who belongs to samr caste ..is it correct or not?
This started to keep the professional expertise of respective castes. Example a gold smiths daughter will have a better understanding of her goldsmith husband's profession.

A Few Communities have set up rules for the people like They can't marry people from The same gotra or same lineage or they have to marry within their community only.
You can marry anyone who is not your same gotra.but in parsis because of less population it's difficult so they marry their cousins
It's almost unbelievable that the girls are often BRUTALLY FORCED to marrie to their maternal uncle in this 2022 era also.
MAY GOD BLESS THE POOR GIRLS 🙏🙏🙏
I have shared, and you also do the same please.

It is not because of poverty or illiteracy. Rich people usually do it, to save their family property. It is usually the women who are more than willing to get married this way. Awesome information by bigbrainco

Why two people want to marry it's their life even if they are full sibling
@@kailaehverma9741what if they are forced by family
This is the reason i like the concept of intercaste marriage.. Specially in India we should promote that.
Prevention from intercaste marriage was the reason in Indian history because we Indians were proved better in genetic code due to gotra system.....while external aggressors came India, it became meaningful to insist upon on NO INTERCASTE MARRIAGE to protect our good genes from Mughals imperfections. There it became system for seriously no Intercaste marriage to not let the genes imperfections spread in whole Indian community.
@@Thunderrr24 lol please... That's so stupid. Most indians already share genetics. Especially, North indians And South indians have slightly different genetic makeup. And so many kings in North married their children to mughals. The intercaste marriage ban is just an excuse to maintain varna system and brahmin supremacy. People marry within their own community to prevent the wealth and power from going outside the community.

Awesome! This was god damn interesting and informative!! I loved it.
unfortunately one day i saw a online community (f*cked-up group of people) and i was so curious to know more about it and understand it, basically the group was about inbreeding and love sex in family. they do daily something with their family and share it as story on group, people starts praising everything and suggest them to do bad things and share continuously.
I know lots of stories were fake but there were lots of true stories too.
my mind was f*cked-up whole week. they were more like evils, they don't consider incest as Taboo. they say sex is a form of love, and we should love family more than anything.

Our Manipuri elders were advanced in science, so we have a system of classification(clans) and our manipuri(meitei) surnames are classified into 7 groups:
1. Mangang
2. Luwang
3. Khuman
4. Angom
5. Moirang
6. Kha- Nganba
7. Salang Leishangthem.
They are called yek(clans)
People who are under the same clan can't marry. For example a person who's of Mangang clan can't marry someone of Mangang clan because it is considered family inbreed. And marrying someone of the same clan will lead to birth of babies with abnormal condition, early death of the man or the woman, etc.
And so, no one use to take someone of the same clan.
same in brahman caste...shukla, misra, trivedi, diwedi ,pandit etc..never marry to same surnames
@@luckytheracer3369 ok but ours is a little different😅

This thing turned out into a total negativity alongwith time because of several reasons. Although there numerous examples of intercaste marriages in our religious texts. So all this taboo about a strict no no to intercaste marriages is false.
