- The two 'being; videos were recorded on April 28, 2019, the last full day of GANNET's circumnavigation. I have chosen to upload them out of order for reasons that will be apparent if you view them.
There is an incomplete sentence in one that starts: "I am glad this passage..." The lacking words are "is almost over."
I will start uploading videos tomorrow in chronological order, starting with the evening before our departure from Hilton Head on January 25, 2019.
Iove your philosophy , and your story, epic!
Sail on indeed, best wishes Mr Chiles, tedd
Thank you!
Have you noticed that there is someone who does not like me? A thumbs down to your innocuous comment and to all those below. Well, as I have written elsewhere, no one defines me except me, but I must admit that there is satisfaction in knowing that a few have sensed what I have done with my life and perhaps been moved by my words.
So the thanks to you, Oleg, and many others is reciprocal.
Congrats on the trip. You have been an inspiration to me for the last 40 years. Thank you from SV Moana - Neiafu, Vava'u, Tonga. - kevin
Really enjoying "Open Boat" and your perspective on the page and here on TH-cam. It's eye opening that one can build a life so focused on circumnavigating. I suppose a lot of people will look back on their lives and think of the high moments including sailing. You just have spent a lot more of your waking and sleeping hours doing it. I mentioned you in a somewhat similar monologue, but it is future-looking, not reflective. It's the most recent on my channel if you want to see :)
Thinking too much about being seems to diminish the being part of life.
I just saw this.
I have paused to consider.
I think not.
Grateful that you have chosen to share with us your unique life experience. Though we can't all do what you have done, you do serve as an inspiration to all of us to be willing to make unconventional life choices and to seek, in small ways and great, the edge of human experience.
Thank you ....Thank you...Thank you ! I have followed your writings and adventures for many years of my life now while always being entertained , enlightened and moved . You are probably the most voyaged sailor on this planet during your time and you have done this your way ...professionally ..quietly...while navigating many sailing vessels most people would not leave a harbor in . I always admired your humbleness , self drive and insight as you journey through life . Your very unique in a great way ! Congratulations Webb Chiles on completing your 6th circumnavigation !

At my website: www.inthepresentsea.com you will find a contact email. I’d enjoy hearing from you.
I salute you.
Lost for words. Thank you for sharing this moment.
I’m about to embark on my maiden voyage on May 13th. I have a 22 O’Day which I purchased off of Craigslist for $500. You can see my path from the beginning on my channel.
I was heavily inspired by you. Thank you very much for setting the example. I hope to pick up the torch you are dropping and inspire the next guy.
P.S. I’m an outspoken atheist/antitheist also.
....thank you for the insight....life and it’s meaning is ultimately a mystery ....but at least you lived one
Thank you for giving me the words that has encouraged my dreams and given me resolve to fight for the epic experience that is smoldering within.
I have enjoyed and have learned much
Since I started following you over five years ago. I look forward to the continued musings onward and I pray ( I know that is not in your constitution) that I can have half of the experiences while at sea that you have encountered and that I have the strength and resolve to live through them.
Fair Winds, Following Seas and a Beautiful conclusion to a Great Mariner
I have enjoyed your videos and reading about your adventures, thank you for sharing them with us.
I'm surprised that you don't believe in God, especially after spending so much time in the wonderfully complex ocean environment.
Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse."
you're gonna get bored, i predict another trip around the world in your 80's. You may end up like Joshua Slocum but thats not a bad thing in my opinion. What a way to go out.
Thanks for a great trip, enjoy your new life.
Great that you shared with us, thank you!
WOW , SAIL on , just know you a very lucky man to find your true meaning and true love ! you my friend hit a homer in life !
Saw this on sailing anarchy this morning. Loved it.
