- / @nickfoleyuk It this episode we take a quick look at the Leslie 3300 Mark 1, have a look at the controls on the front panel and understand how I have it setup.
In the next video why don't we mic it up along with a Leslie 145 and compare and contrast? More from me exclusively at / nickfoleyuk - เพลง
...oh that would be an interesting series! Thank you, Nick!
I was rehearsing with my 3300 today (black with wheels 😀) and it does everything I need. I was using the 11 pin as I find the quarter inch picks up a lot of noise. Be interesting to see if you get the same issue. Will be nice to see/hear the comparison with a vintage Leslie too. Looking forward to the next vid. J
Hi Nick. Love your channel.
When using 1/4” connection how do you configure your xk5? Would it be leslie ch 1+ line? Thanks in avdance
(From memory) yes that’s it.
I wished the 3300 could directly connect to an audio interface, delivering all the effects of the 3300 to a DAW.
And for the money you’d hope so too
I have a road 3300 with wheels that is great, although it makes a little noise when it spins slow on the bass rotor. It's a lot more transportable than my 147. Heck, the problem with my 147 is because I primarily use my Crumar suitcase organ, the line level output is not hot enough for the 147 input. Is there a cheap solution to that, because right now I think I'm just going to bypass the 147 amp and use an external Poweramp.
You need to boost the input then I think? I use an xk5 into a 145 too. I’ve used an mxr micro amp pedal before and also a lounsberry organ grinder. The Tall and Fat would do it too.
@@nickfoleyuk the 147 is expecting an organ level output so my line level stuff doesn't get as loud over the noise floor of the Leslie amp. It's not terrible. I can just boost the organ grinder pedal.
I picked up an organ grinder shorter after purchasing my Crumar last year, actually from your recommendation.
What do you think of the grinder?
@@nickfoleyuk adds great saturation and can even be used in lieu of an amplifier. The integrated distortion on the Crumar is very one dimensional, but in a band setting it's fine. Grinder can be last if you're going for a stationary sound, otherness need a Leslie speaker or sim on other end (Crumar doesn't have a loop either so can't use integrated Leslie and effects). If I don't bring a Leslie, I just plug it into my axe FX as I always have that at gigs because I am half guitarist/half keyboardist.
