Tbh I usually only watch for the sts content but Spirit Island seems rather fun. Your analytical commentary is what always keeps me hooked with your content and I got a lot of that here. Hopefully I can catch some of it the next time I pop by stream :D
I play this with 3 friends every couple of weeks and it's an interesting puzzle every time

Spirit island is an amazing game, your "8 very complicated StS turns" description was a good description I think. The digital version is about to get so much better with the Jagged Earth content starting next week.

I love this game. I mainly play either Forest as support or River with turn 4 level 3 flood strategy. It's so fun cleaning one region per turn for the rest of the game while also drawing through the minor or major powers and juicing other spirits with energy.
Straightforward bottom track River is fun in its own way, indeed.
Unfortunately, it quickly becomes a bad kind of Kama Sutra the moment you run into England 5+. It probably gets better if you get cards from someone else, but still...

The UI is so bad it's tough to watch as someone who doesn't already know the game.
It's okay when you don't try to play several Spirits from one computer. Otherwise you get this, and indeed it's pretty bad as most of your stuff is hidden from the screen at any given moment. Which is okay if you know the game and you play it yourself rather than try to watch someone else as you keep everything you need in mind, as you said, but that's a big "if" when it's a stream/youtube video of an unfamiliar game.
Looks like a cool game but a terrible stream game, any game that needs long videos to make people understand how the game is played is probably not a good streaming game, there will be people tuning in, not understanding 10% of what is happening and going out.
