- It’s sad what this mall has come too. Both anchor stores shutting down. And eventually this mall will be gone as a whole. It’s a shame. I’ve always enjoyed the architecture and riding the glass elevator in this mall.
My father worked on the construction of this mall and its rehabs throughout the years. I remember going to Sears for my yearly photos lol and seeing Santa. Used to have a candy story inside it and a cinnabon store. Was last in it late 2000’s… just read they demolished the white plains mini mall on hamilton ave. Another staple gone. White plains has changed drastically in the last 10-20 years. Almost unrecognizable… its like a mini nyc. Used to have a small city/town feel in the 80-90’s. Thanks again. Great video.
My daughter went on that carousel when she was an infant. Sad to see the mall this way. My dad helped paint it when it was built in 1980 and told us about this mall. It was frequently visited by my family back in the 80s.
They just announced that they are closing this mall. So many memories 😔
This is so sad! It used to be my go to mall in white plains! And they still haven’t done anything with the Walmart that left 3 years ago 🙁
Meanwhile white plains is building more apartment complexes adding a new parking structure, downtown is thriving with bars and restaurants. White plains is in no way a dying city and this mall is in the center of it. I can’t see this mall becoming a completely dead mall if anything they can re do it and build something else.
Walmart use to be a Sears years ago and it was in McDonald's there can you get the old White plains more which is it that one shut down I haven't been down there in years remind you I live in the Bronx when I used to frequent this small cuz I have friends in Westchester I'm the one to Westchester Mall open in 94 the galleria I don't remember because I was too little so I think I was like five when it opened

Oh wow. For some reason I thought this mall closed. It was one of our faves to go to. Will have to visit it at least once more before its gone.

In fact the music they play in the mall is mostly music from the 1990’s.

Man, this mall went from an thriving mall to almost an dead mall in little over 5 months and now with forever 21 pulling out, this mall is doomed.
Never been inside but I visited White Plains for the first time a few days ago. I liked it. I did drive past the mall though. West Chester county is good area.
Dam it's sad I'm normally used to be a friendlies when you walk in on the right I remember JCPenney before Sears and of course Macy's good old days bang bang was the club store it used to be at movie theater in there

I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon actually. The Sears and Macy's stores in this mall got closed down last year though.

I use to go this mall my dad took me as a kid in the 1980's and cross county in Yonkers think I want the Roosevelt Field too in Long Island good old days you can go to trader Horn new Mark and Lewis nobody beats the wiz Calder

The Westchester looks better than this mall now but even that Mall's going to probably die eventually online shopping & the pandemic has ruined everything.
I used to work at SEARS back in 2013 before the mall is starting to decline. Sad soon to be dead mall at the Galleria. No more Macy's. That is a game changer.
Hard to attract new people and regulars if things don't change. The mall still looks the same with the couple new food stands. Thank you for posting this video.
