  • The NUX Mighty Space is a portable, 30-watt stereo wireless modeling guitar amp for electric and acoustic guitars and bass.
But the Mighty Space, as Guitar World Tech Editor Paul Riario points out in this demo, is also so much more. “It’s an amp, an amp modeler, a multi-effects processor, an amp head, it has a built-in wireless and it comes with a wireless transmitter, a drum machine and a looper,” he says.

As a bass player I am skeptical. Including bass guitar in these type of amps is always an afterthought and I doubt that has changed here. I cant even start to belive a bass guitar sounds good coming out of a 30 watt toaster running on batteries. Might sound good with headphones but since we never touch on the bass tones in these things I'll assume there are some decent sounds to be had through headphones or possibly with another cab but there is nothing spectacular and even with an extension cab bass players are going to wish they had spent their $450 on something with a bit more voulume and even more important more low end. There are still companies making gear for guitarists while treating bass players as an afterthought but these days there is plenty of gear designed with bassists in mind and thats who will get my money. A bassist who drops 400+ bucks on this thing is going to feel cheated when they realise it doesnt make for a very good bass amp.

I have personally tested the NUX Mighty Air and surprisingly, It sounded better on bass than guitar. So, considering that the NUX Mighty Space is supposed to be even better and also that it comes with a two-switch foot pedal and a wireless transmitter included and also the app that has everything too, I think it is worth those 400+ bucks considering that if you want a high-end overdrive+preamp pedal, you're gonna spend just as much.

In other words a knock off of the Positive Grid Spark. Even down to the strap amp handle. Wow.

Plus being $200.00 more than the Spark, big pass on this one!

Actually, it's much more than the Spark. It's wireless and portable, which the Spark is not. Plus you can change the IR's (Cabs) per amp, which you can't do with the Spark. You can move the signal blocks around as well. Can't do that on the Spark. And it will also power a 4/8/16 ohm cab as well so it doubles up as an amp head as well as a portable, stereo, wireless modeling amp. Hope that helps to clarify.

@@ThePedalGuy And you haven't even mentioned the built-in looper and the included footswitch for controlling presets and looper. Looper is just not available on Spark and the footswitch comes extra at 100+ dollars.

Built in battery, included wireless transmitter, built in drum loops, and can actually be used as a head to a cabinet. Worth the additional $. I’ve had two spark 40s. Got rid of first one then a year later forgot why and got another. Sold it not long after getting it. The spark 40 just didn’t “do it” for me.

I just like tube amps, I'm sure these amps get usable tones and are convenient.
But I just don't dig em.
I play old music played thru old amps ,there is no substitute

No they didn’t lmao. There are loads of these desktop amps in competition with the spark. And the spark has such a weird compressed low end to it.

Nice overview but sounds way too much like a NUX marketing promo. Not even some constructive criticism…
