I think there was a 94 or 95 copper lincoln cent found too. Could be any year throughout the late 80's and 90's so weigh them all if you wanna find one..
Its actually 1981 and older re Copper pennies.1982 was the transitional year both Zinc and Copper released by the mint. My husband saved pennies for decades I'd guess the 1982 pennies were about 35% Copper 65% Zinc Alloy
I just wanted to confirm for everyone that you are correct. 1909 thru 1981= 3.1 grams. 1982 can be EITHER 3.1 OR 2.5 grams. 1983 thru present = 2.5 grams. Indian head pennies have a slightly different metal makeup, and I can't remember exactly how much they should weigh.
I find it hard to believe a cent dated 1989 would be copper because they changed over to copper plated zinc in 1982 which is 7 years earlier. Where did the 95% copoer come from?
I think the most important part to hear is how many of those were distributed? Is it one in 1 million? Because that wouldn’t make it a wild goose chase

I’m going thru my pennies and found 5 2009 pennies, one with no mint, a red 1982 with no mint, a 1986 with no mint, a 2018 no mint and I think a 1920 with a faint D.

I found out that Special Strikes are also made on old school planchets. So, I found a circulated 2009 that weighs 3.13. I was so excited until I did some research.

I have two Pennie’s. One is a 1953 with the one cent word on the back and the other is a 1941 with the one cent word on the back. I also have a weird 1 cent coin from Canada with the date of 1972. It has what looks like 2 maple leafs on the back. In new to all this. Is any of it worth something?
Hello, my friend... How are you doing, fine I'm hoping... I just came across a 2021 D, Jefferson nickel that has a GOLDEN EYE. But, it's just his his Right eye.
How about a penny 1882 no mint mark that weighs 2.50 grams & a penny 1982. With mint mark D that weighs 3.00 grams wy are they diferent do you know , thanks
$300 to have it appraised???? What planet are you living on? You can take it to a coin shop and they'll do it for free. How about buying a $4.95 scale and weighing it yourself?? SMH. 😅
Pennies like those are worth what someone is willing to pay for them.
Yes. And that is $3,525. That’s a verified sold auction at the end of this video.

Is there an estimated number in circulation for these?
