    When I was younger l I used to enjoy the turn and burn trips but as you get older you just want to be home or at your interstate base home for the night.

      And that was a bit late, about 7:25pm, only get about a 15-minute window to get sunsets most of the time.

    I made it to Sydney and back down to Jugiong but did start at Numurkah. Jugiong was a good quiet place to pull up for the night..

      Stayed at the Jugiong Motel one time when bobtail, let me park out the back at the end of the driveway so not as far to walk, unfortunately went to bed before the counter meals started at the hotel.

    Just saw my old Tassie company SRT in the background. They've expanded to the mainland.

    Truck stops should be state of the art, one day business will work together to build proper truck stops with entertainment.

    • @australiantruckerrod1070
      @australiantruckerrod1070  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don"t think I will see anything state-of-the-art, But in fairness to the service centres, some truck drivers don't care and trash these places, Most of the entertainment comes from the people going there.
      When are you going to fire up that Harley and do some adventures, in thinking around Tassie first, before the big one around the mainland?

    How did you wing a good run out of Melbourne on a Friday Rod? 👌🤣

      Trust me does not happen often, 6:15 to 6:30 departure seems a good time for me most days, Ring Road and Craigieburn By-pass can be a hit or miss

    Unrelated question, trucks air conditioning can you have it on while your asleep?
    Does the truck need to be on? Maybe do a video on electrical do and don't.
    TIA.

      Electric cooler, runs on the batteries, lasts about 12 hrs, another driver has tried it out and will shut off if the batteries get low. Other run on diesel motors as with my last job, but are noisy.

      interesting truckies need one, when public can get on the road and drive 40hrs straight, bit of tweaking here and there and you can do do 5 M-Syd no breaks

      Know drivers with their own truck, only making the same or sometimes less than I do, one has been screwed over with false promises and had to fight for payment. ( large company), Cost needed to start can be high, I think a minimum of $100,000 in the bank to start to cover costs for 3 months.Too many regulations, Police and road authorities trying to fine you for every little thing. (owner fines higher than drivers.). Just have to find a good reliable company that will let you increase rates from time to time, as costs increase. Not saying you can't be successful just need to do it right.
