Hey thanks for this! Are you considering any more tips and tricks videos or explanations? I've just started getting into this game and much of the content for it is years old. Thanks for this video and keep up the good work!
I’m glad you found this video helpful! Feel free to join the official discord, lots of people there are willing to help out new players. Despite much of the content being old, there hasn’t really been any updates to this game in years, so lots of tips will still apply. As for myself making new videos, perhaps I might lol.
Wait... _THAT'S_ what the home island port looks like??? I have 36 hours in my first playthrough, uncompleted and I've encountered it before but I thought it was savannah
Although it takes longer to set up, I went with the swimming nicheling strategy. The platypus beak is such a good gene. It's easy to stack up on worms for food. The water also only has leeches to worry about so it allows me to avoid more predators. Yes, it slows me down on certain maps, but for a majority of them, it's a good strategy. When I'm running low on home island immunity, I try to breed a nicheling with two home island genes if I can. Then all of said nicheling's offspring are guaranteed to have at least one home gene.

Cool
The one time I almost completed this game I realised I had bread out the home island immunity and wouldn’t be able to complete it 😅😢
