Okay game crash course: The owl like birds eat babies with one gem. Keep adults with them so they don't get eaten. Rouge males with get your females pregnant and have bad traits. Your last male before the final baby died because you harvested thorns. The crippled paw makes it so they can't -easily- collect food of any sort. Bad genetic. Yellow outline is a friend you have yet to make/ don't hurt you. Red outline is not a friend and will injure you. Green is a friend. Bearyenas can have babies that will be friendly and you can make hybrids. The Dodomingo likes to steal permanent nests when you hit it it calls for more that just clutter the place. The flowery ports are easy islands. The ones with bodies are hard. The movement circle tells you how far a creature can move in a turn. As well as all other circles with numbers tell you how much of that action can be done in a turn like 2 fishing you can pick up two fish at once. 3 collecting means you can pick up 3 berries at once. The weird fern berry type thing heals aliments like poison or any other damage they have taken thus extending that creatures life. This is it for your crash course. You got this.

So, seeing as you start out with only 2 individuals, and siblings can mate with eachother and all that stuff, does this game also have inbreeding depression? Or is that overlooked?
Tyrom I have seen other gameplay it is not an official thing that they have said but I think it does exist because you get blind ones more often with inbreeding also I understand the lack of punctuation
If you inbreed you run the chance of higher overlapping immunities. Your animals will get sick and can spread that sickness to the rest of your animals and they'll all die faster, so it's best to watch the immunities of those you breed, especially if you're inbreeding. There's enough diversity with the first two animals that inbreeding for one or two generations shouldn't cause too many problems if you're watching to make sure they don't breed overlapping immunities. By that time you should hopefully find some wild animals to add to your tribe for more diversity
The game takes care of inbreeding using immunity genes in a way that you must have 2 unique immunity genes otherwise your nicheling runs the risk of catching the common cold and spreading it to other tribe members
