I've' seen niche develop over the years but its incredible to see how its grown, as i haven't watched anything in a few years, thank you for the guide, this game is truly an amazing feat of design, and I love it deeply for that.
Quick tip! I make my nichelings go to right to the shore to have babies (ideally a few blocks away tho so they don’t get a leech) so that if a baby has bad genes, instead of wasting food on it by keeping it or abandoning it and having it steal food as an adult, I’ll send them to drown. I do this with rogue babies too, and wandering nichelings that I don’t want but also don’t want stealing my food. The only drawback is that it doesn’t work on creatures with water breathing. TLDR don’t abandon the nichlings you don’t want, drown them instead. (Edit: if you're on an island that doesn't have water tiles, the other quickest options are to have it pick a hazardous plant the moment it becomes a teen (ie cactus, toxic bush), or just leave it by itself and let a bluebird swoop it up)
My biggest problem is breeding ;-; I breed the animals too much and then I forget the pairs and then I acidentally breed a pup with it's mother O_O sometimes its not a problem but I get very impulsive and make wrong moves
all you have to do is check their immunity genes [last bar in the gene section] Breeding two creatures with the same gene means it has a high chance of getting sick. And can infect others
@@frogoverlord3471 You only breed them until you have different immunities if you have to take the inbreeding road, or if they're genes you REALLY wants passed down
Depends on if your doing story mode or not if your doing Adam and Eve you just gotta keep going till you find home island if your doing the not story mode one then you just get survive and exist
I feel this must be said as not many people may remember or know of this game but Niche is essentially a very poor version of the Super Nintendo game E.V.O. Search for Eden. E.V.O. is everything you are wanting Niche to be. Please find an emulator and play it, it is a beautifully unique experience.
I've had trouble with this game because after the tutorial section, the description of the mutations no longer displays. And that's a major part of the game! In this tutorial, I see the descriptions still display as normal. Is there some button I hit that hid the mutation descriptions?
Think you'll pass your biology exam now?
Yep
I sure hope so.
The b doesn't stand for Bravo, it stands for beta ^^
aaaaaah, I knew that. There was some lag between my mouth and my brain :P
@@Epokk ahhh, okay! Happens to me all the time :P
No its biology

wtf..
well thats fucked up
Sadly you have to survive somehow :")
welp, ya gotta do what you gotta do to survive TvT
I love how people’s solution to bad genes isn’t showing mercy and finding it a use in the tribe, it’s DROWN THE CHILD
Thanks for this guide, my animals keep dying lol

Who else looked this up because they've died a third time and haven't even reached the second generation
Here! Also did not manage to keep the homeland immunity
Aye! Archipelago sucks...
I just need to figure out a way to STOP BREEDING THEM IMPULSIVLEY BECAUSE I WILL RUN OUT OF FOOD
@@frogoverlord3471 I’ve pretty much quit at this point, replayed the game at least 20 times and failed every single damn time

Niche, somebody's biology thesis turned into a turn-based strategy game 🎉
Niche 🤝 biology majors
Thank you so much. This was the only short guide I could find and understand
Wait- doesn’t the B stand for Beta?
Thanks this helped so much lol
I played through the tutorial & some more. But does this game has a quest line or story? I'm not sure what I am supposed to do passing map to map.

Installing completes in about 1 minute 5 seconds!!!

It’s a glitch close the game out and bring back up
Please slow down when you speak! I would imagine there's people who cannot process how fast you speak.
My problem is that I want to watch this but he's talking too fast.. Slowing down the video doesn't help
