I could listen to Smit for hours - what a rugby brain. Shimmie moderating brilliantly as usual and always nice to see crossovers between different rugby podcasts
Ben Youngs so eloquent and measured. Barney is a rugby cerebral & articulates himself so well as always. Shim is a master at this podcast thing. Well researched along with his brilliant general knowledge of our sport. So many great podcasts in the mixer at the minute and the Boks Office is right up there with some of the best.
From a kiwi --- if Rugby is "the drug of the masses" ie the anticipation, the highs, the lows etc - then I think Ireland, although hard at the time, "lowering their dose" in the big picture can be good for them. They can learn about humility, underestimating opponents, expectations & pressure. Learn from it, understand it, manage it better. We know because we had it all wrong for nigh on a quarter of a century between World Cup wins. Up the Southern Hemisphere - we've had a good start, but it ain't over yet. 🏴
You should its light hearted and entertaining. For any South African fans there are several of your players who appear on. Handre Pollard is often on it as they all friends and play together at Leicester
Definitely the best Boks Office I have watched! The vibe between you 3 was great! Ben Youngs is a really good guy! And John Smit also had great insights! What made this show different? Work it out! What was the formula? If you can, you will take this show to another level!
Worked on the 2021 lions tour with the covid stuff. One of my biggest regrets is not attending the final match as security had said I could enter the stadium with my pass.
Brilliant! Great show always love the banter of ex and current players! Talking about experiences and some off field stories are what makes rugby such an enjoyable sport.👍🏉💪
I like Eddie but jeez what he did with Walllabies last year was weird ..players like Ikitau being left out word cup been one of Oz more consistent players during tuff times
39:53 if you go back and look at the slow mo replay of that tackle you can see the hope drain from Duhans face as he is going down. That was a game saving tackle.
The Rugby Podcasts getting together and collaborating it top shelf stuff. Ben I have been tuning in regularly to your show. Unlike the Good, the Bad, the Rugby, yours is far more upbeat and less arrogant. I find Haskell and Tindall too obnoxious for my taste and have too much of a lad atmosphere. Your show brings some balance.
Just a clarification on your caption, Ben Youngs is the most capped MALE English player. Please put some respect on Sarah Hunters 141 caps (the actual most capped English player).
I wouldn't be too worried, Ben hasn't picked a winner yet in these Autumn Internationals 😂 I hope England can put in a good performance and its a good game but I can't see them beating your Boks . Boks are too good atm 👍
When Scotland was 5 out and didn't want to scrum, why not go to a tap instead of taking the 3? They had alot of momentum and i felt need atleast 5 on the board.
Great chat guys - Best 8 in South Africa - how about Morne Du Plessis ...re Eddie Jones - if he is such a good coach how come he has never won a World Cup as head coach... Rassie in your heeead..
Young Joseph had to get a special dispensation at 17 years of age to play NRL top grade for all of you who are not familiar with the NRL one of the most hotly contested physical fast contact sport competition in the world
I think maybe we should rethink the Lions series of 2021. Yeah, the rugby was supbar due to the kack of gametime. And yeah, there were no fans in the stands. But those two teams went into what must have felt like alien conditions and put up a show in front of a world that had suffered. Almost all of us knew people who died because of Covid - I lost an uncle and two family friends because of it - and for the sports stars to come out and play the game as well as they could given the awful circumstances meant more to me than anyone of the players can ever know. Instead of looking back at it as a poor Lions series, thi k about it as being the greatest one of them all.
England did not sit on a lead in the same way as the NZ match. Just look at Ford's dropped pass to Lawrence which led to an Aus try. That was England trying to win a match with another try which they were criticised for not doing the week before.
I wouldn’t fall off my chair if England won. Smith needs to stay at 10 the full 80 though, and they need to attack and not play it safe. The Boks are good but they’re not as far ahead as some think.
I love the boks office but ben youngs is pure class on a pundit podcast level... Get that man to south africa, good to also see and here from barney again
john smit at 50 odd mins in saying they probably went a little too long with some players is peak hypocrisy ......dude cock-blocked bismark who was clearly the better player for years.....even tried smit at prop....
Bismarck was not a captain. Smit is one of the best captains we have ever had, and could slot in at prop, as well. You totally disregard the influence of a good captain.
England not for now but the future get Freddie back to 15 put your fastest guys on the wing teach Furbank to play 10 keep him on bench for impact your midfield tho? Who else
NZ supporters 5c worth.. I think the Spring Bok's will be too hectic for the English,, England are only good for 40/50minutes they have no variations in their game,SA will lift the intensity and England won't be able to live with them
@18 minutes... well there in lies the problem with English Rugby... with those 2 coaches leaving because of the environment and being irreplaceable, The 'environment' needs to change in order to keep those talented staff to build a better team. So the question remains... what is wrong with the environment?
🤔 well they have played finals, so it would still be Ireland as they have been 1/4 specialists for over 30yrs. Even Scotland managed to get past a 1/4.
@TheBuildKingR To a point yes, but Ireland have only started taking rugby seriously and come to the party in the last 10 years. France have taken it seriously for far longer.
@@NTL578 but then weren't France considered outsiders for the longest time ? Wouldn't we call them underdogs that finally cracked it , same as what Argentina have been building for a while?? 🤷🏽♀️
@lukhanyosotyingwa1680 Hmm sort of, they were more the team that would look like world beaters 1 week, and then Tier 2 the next. Didn't they make the first WC final?
Argentina showed how to beat the Boks. Yes it may have been a weakened team but still. They ran us ragged. To beat the Boks you have to be brave. I dont think England are.
I could listen to Smit for hours - what a rugby brain. Shimmie moderating brilliantly as usual and always nice to see crossovers between different rugby podcasts
Shimmie you are a class act with your amazing questioning
Shimmy asking Jon about the check is hilarious, he knows Brian getting that Sage money big time
As an Aussie, it's hard not to like Ben Young. What a wonderful speaker he is.
I don't say this often about English players... But I think I like Ben Youngs... 😂😂Shimmi is pure class as per usual! Great pod gents.
Love these shows! From a New Zealand fan
in Gold Coast Australia! Also lets hope for another
good weekend for the South
spain beat urugay so not a clean N v S sweep! also tonga lost to romania!

Ben Youngs is an awesome guest to have!
Boks office and the verdict are top top shows! Well done boys

Brilliant to hear from Ben Youngs
yes he is a great speaker
John's Eddie Jones impression finished me. 21:10
Ben Young's is such a nice dude. Will check out your pod 🇿🇦
It's really good 😊
For the Love of Rugby is brilliant. Ben and Dan Cole make a great team with lots of great chats. Highly recommend it! 👏

What a crossover. Well done, gents.
Epic episode!!!!! I LOVE this collaboration 😊 Thank you gentlemen...
Lenny... we love you! ❤
Great show lads! Lekker way to enjoy the post game banter!
Great chat lads. I can see Ben being a staple global rugby pundit. Good luck to all teams this weekend!
"Im here for the love of the game shimmy" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂 that finished me!
That John Smit has got a serious brain on him hey. I could listen to him all day...

Great content Ben!!Big up John & Shimmie!💚👊🏾🤙
Not to jump on the bandwagon but Shimmi asking the right questions makes this pod world class...what can you expect from a fellow Bosch boytjie though
Brilliant! Great show always love the banter of ex and current players! Talking about experiences and some off field stories are what makes rugby such an enjoyable sport.👍🏉💪
John smit can make a good radio
This is a top class episode. Brilliant, all three of them!

Ben is brillliant
John Smit - I'm here for the love of the game 😂
Aaah boys that was a good talk..enjoyed every minute. Thanks
This is my favourite episode by far!
Great show lads!!💯❤️👊🏾🫡
Shimmie doing his thing!!
Love the combination this week.
Quality stuff as always! Ben is good value too. Thoroughly enjoy these collaborations.
Love the banter
Good chat about Eddie - but want to know the inside stuff about Pieter de Villiers and Alistair Coetzee...
Great show, really enjoyed it
Yup, time to follow Ben's channel 🎉
love the vibe of boks office
Nice show, thanks guys
Excellent pod
Amazing again!
Can't wait for the next episode after the boks smash England by 10

34:53 one of the best Springbok 8s was Morné du Plessis
Thanks guy you're awesome
Just a clarification on your caption, Ben Youngs is the most capped MALE English player. Please put some respect on Sarah Hunters 141 caps (the actual most capped English player).
scotland focused so much on matching the physicality of the boks that they forgot that they can score tries by finishing off their good moves🙂
JDV getting angry enough to punch someone is weirdly funny to me 😂😂😂😂
Shimi you are really moving the needle 😂😂😂 push him for some more
Shimmie you are the best
As a bok, Ben's SA vs ENG prediction makes me nervous😂😂
😂😂😂 especially with how wrong he can be 😅
I wouldn't be too worried, Ben hasn't picked a winner yet in these Autumn Internationals 😂 I hope England can put in a good performance and its a good game but I can't see them beating your Boks . Boks are too good atm 👍
When do you get to wear your Springboks blazer as opposed to just carrying it?
When Scotland was 5 out and didn't want to scrum, why not go to a tap instead of taking the 3? They had alot of momentum and i felt need atleast 5 on the board.
Bob the best impact player we ever had? Has this man just forgotten or never watched Kwagga come off the bench? 😂
Great chat guys - Best 8 in South Africa - how about Morne Du Plessis ...re Eddie Jones - if he is such a good coach how come he has never won a World Cup as head coach... Rassie in your heeead..
We only won in 2007 because of him. Jake White had some horrendous losses in the lead-up to the RWC.

Great take! We all had something to look forward to when things were pretty shite!
Spare a thought for the Georgian coach who caught Covid on their tour to SA. He was hospitalised, but I never heard any follow-up whether he survived.
5 : 3 this week Cant predict Rassie
Nathan Cleary at flyhalf for Oz would be power
Great interview and view points. It’s going to be biblical
I hope England win. Might douse the Springbok love in for 24 hours or so
England did not sit on a lead in the same way as the NZ match. Just look at Ford's dropped pass to Lawrence which led to an Aus try. That was England trying to win a match with another try which they were criticised for not doing the week before.
The margins in these games are tiny... get the adjustments right and we could be in for an exciting game this Saturday
From the land of the long white cloud may I ask you didn’t acknowledge your call with the ABs Irish game? Been wrong twice with the ABs now
Might be a close one, Eng to get the win, if they don’t run out of juice after their two big games already.
Ahhhh 🥰...I'm heaven!
Dont waste my time hahahhah lovely ben 😂

Boks… by 15 points.
England will start well, but get overwhelmed in the last 20 mins.
I can’t believe JDV done that . Like I don’t think he has it in him.
Habana still catching strays 😂😂
Has he sold out or something? I don't understand why he doesn't feature more on these types of shows
@@breathe_3asy I don’t think so, just mates picking on their other mate cause they know he’s watching lol
Put RG Snyman or Eben at wing
Why is everyone banging on about how good Felix is? He's essentially fucked us. Created a half finished system at best and left us in no mans land.
So you would carry on working in an environment that you consider toxic? He owes you nothing. Did you try and find out why he left?
Duwey van Demcmillan 😀😀😀
what about jannie breedt as a great bok no 8?
One word, "No". From NZ.
NO WAY 😢😢😢
Nah. The Bokkie can have a bad day and still win.
Ireland's window is closed for a while.
wallabies to beat Wales for sure maybe Scotland
Aussies without Kerevi McMahon Coleman, Skelton, the Arnolds. All playing overseas on contract.
Kerevi and Skelton are in the squad though, just not selected?
@@Tomk79rhby oh i didn't know. Thanks for that
@alanbstard4
Well it's a good point that still stands. There are players not in the match day 23 so far that would surely strengthen the side 🤷
