Intermediate player here after years of not practicing. I found this video to be very helpful when getting back into the flow of things!! Grately appreciate it😊
1, 3, and 4 are practices I came up with over the years. (It's great to see a high-level professional cellist recommending them!) I love #5! And think my students will find it a fun challenge. Thank you so much, Wendy! I get so much out of your videos 🙂
Thank you so much for the advice! I am going to my first concert and needed some warmup tips. I love watching your channel and I have learned a lot from not just practice, but learning tips from your channel. Again I really thought this was helpful and appreciate how much work you put in to help cellists. Thank you kindly.
Thank you for this video. I’m a 1 year adult beginner, and I just bought my first Cello. It’s not like my old rent Cello which is tamer. I frequently make annoying noise with the new one, and there are several wolf tone area to me. This video really help! This is what I need at the moment.
I am a horn player (trumpet) and have never played, nor do I expect to play a cello. That said, watching this gives me an even greater appreciation for your art. Thank you, Wendy.
Thank you for ALL the videos you put out! I am a beginner(at 50) and have found your videos so helpful! I wish you lived in my town so I could take lessons from you! Stephanie
Thank you so much! Do the exercises last if I do them at home and then go to my cello class or it really better to do them right before you start playing your cello?
Can you do a tutorial on proper breathing techniques and muscle warm up exercises? I notice that I hold my breath a lot when playing and have heart palpitations at times. Probably because of the cello vibration on my chest. I also end up with sore shoulders and arms after playing. Thank you so much!
Thanks Wendy! This is very helpful. I just now discovered your channel and I'm glad I did. I'm a "Beginning" cellist in that I played with my high school & college orchestras sinply because I loved the instrument. However, when I started my career in teaching English, I stopped practicing regularly and only pick up the cello ocassionally if a friend or family member wants me to play for some event. Sorry for the long ramble. The point is: I'm grateful I discovered your channel and I know it will be a great help as I continue to play.
Timely 👍👍👍.......scheming on getting cello right now......probably should wait until next month......buuuuuttttt.....I been dying to get one......damn.....I get ecstatic and giddy just thinking about having one.....eyeing your "Top 10 Must Have" video......everything a flat out beginner needs there? How the hell do you tune it???!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I'll be hanging out on your channel .....probably find all I need to start there👍🎼👍🎼👍 Fleets of container ships filled with thanks and love💖🌈💖🎼💖🌈💖🎼💖🌈💖🎼 💖👍👍👍

Thank you Wendy 😍, you are very nice....
I will try these. Question; Bent thumb or straight thumb on bow hand?
Rounded thumb is probably better. Thanks
