Unova gives some nice competition with the Route 6 weather station, the Black version of Opelucid, what is probably rank 3 after Wyndon, Black City, all that aquarium shit in Undella Town, the Nacrene Museum and the only airport actually around. Nice stuff. 8/10. Until you think about Colress and everything Team Plasma did, that is. All of this shit, DNA Splicers, N-Solarizer and N-Lunarizer, Weapons technology, a fucking 15-story castle drilling up and surrounding the League, those Colress Machines, a flying pirate ship, the ability to just warp Ghetsis to the Shadow Realm for daring to even touch the cinnamon roll, and fucking Genesect. You managed to take an ancient predator and turn it into a literal weapon with a big fuck-off laser cannon on its back. Colress is just a flex god on the other regions. 10/10, you absolute unit. In terms of culture, man. I guarantee you that Unova would get a shit-ton of traffic just for Skyla and Elesa alone. We wouldn't even need the domination, but Unova has it. Iris is okay, and so is Alder, but Benga. My man be pulling out the genies, Lati Twins, and the lad even has some Shinies on him just to piss you off. The real meat, though, isTeam Plasma. These madmen went and turned Kyurem into doom cannon that can freeze a city solid in like 20 seconds. Sinnoh might have more gods and better trainers, but how're they gonna win if Cynthia's an icicle? Ghetsis can also just convince the other regions to give up Pokemon, only to turn around and Manifest Destiny their asses. Team Rocket may have the Boss, but Ghetsis is such a conniving bastard that he can take advantage of Giovanni for his own ends. Oh, and N's cool, too, I guess. The Pokemon, that's an interesting subject. Unova has the most Pokemon, so it stands to reason that at least some of them would be good enough to get it high tier, and god damn. Hydreigon and its bloodlust, Haxorus' raw destructive power, the sheer militarism that is Braviary, Gigalith's wedge, Contrary Serperior taking Leaf Storm's downside and making it an asset, Excadrill's status as a sweeping god, those sword bitches, those genie bastards, Meloetta, Kyurem's alternate forms, and Reshiram. Oh, what's so deadly about Reshiram? It only produces so much heat that it fucks up the weather, and manages to have any semblance of a niche in a metagame where Primal Groudon is so good that some people want to ban it to that place we don't speak of alongside its grumpy babysitterthat we also don't speak of. This is all with just fragments of the original dragon. I don't want to think about the kind of conquest power that the brothers had back in the day. Even with the amount of credit you are already giving it, I feel like you should give Kalos a bit more credit when it comes to their science. Like yeah, they're not discovering alternate universes and alien life, but this is the region where the Ultimate Weapon was made, which was made 3,000 years ago, and through the process of harnessing the power of dead Pokemon to make... more dead Pokemon, they created the Mega Evolution phenomenon, which would give them an edge in Pokemon strength if Alola and sometimes Kanto and Hoenn didn't also have that.

Also, Johto created the Poke’ball. If Hoenn, Alola, and Kanto can incorporate Mega evolution (which is a natural phenomenon, so I don’t know if I’d consider it science like Mewtwo, Deoxys, Genesect, or Silvally), so Kalos can only get a few points for discovery.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a franchise that does lore as well as Pokemon, and this video really highlights it. Also highlights why I'm not as into Gens II or VI
This idea just came to me while re-watching this. Maybe it would have been cool if each region’s respective professor played a role in the science category, since what each main professor researches is different from others.
This is 3 years late but I had the same idea as u. I only played the remakes of the Gen 1 games during the 2000s (Fire red and Soulsilver), so I don’t know anything about the majority of the professors, but I do know Professor Oak from the games I played and he was a beast and he also either created the pokedex or filled it? (Think he did one of the 2 but it’s been like 14 years) Either way I think he would boost Kanto in the science category
Theoretically if Johto isn’t developed yet has much stronger trainers than Kalos, then Johto’s potential would be super high, whereas despite Kalos’ incredible development and major populace, their trainers still suck dick so their potential is probably lower.
@@Jdudec367 you really think trainers like lance, falkner, whitney, morty, jasmine, clair, karen, silver, Ethan, kris, Lyra and koga cant help lugia, ho-oh, the legendary beasts and celebi take down those 6. They gym leaders in kalos are so bad, johto only really needs one gym leader to fight 2 kalos leaders. Silver can take serena, lance can take out diantha, karen and koga can wipe out the kalos 4 together while will and bruno assist any who need it, like the weaker johto gym leaders
@@Jdudec367 problem is, no one in kalos uses mewtwo, hell, only a few actually use megas at all and the only mega native to kalos is diancie. Only korrina, diantha, lysander, serena and calem use megas. Lance has mega charizard X, karen has mega houndoom (masters is based off the main series so it actually counts) and bugsy has mega beedrill. Karen alone could beat those 4 solo. Also silver and a weak assist, we'll go with chuck, can beat the 3 weak af rivals from kalos Johto just has to many advantages when it comes to trainers. It having a bigger pokemon roster also helps it alot. Plus even without Giovanni, johto team rocket is still better then flare. If archer and lysander were to battle, archer would win just cause he has enough pokemon to make a full team as a opposed to lysander's 3 plus pyroar. Yes he has mega gyarados, but it cant cover the rest of the team on it's own
1:04 is now my new favorite food chain diagram. You all thought a legendary dragon such as kyurem would be the apex predator but really you should’ve been more afraid of swanna all along
I think if there’s a strongest Region, it’s Alola. Knowing Hawaii in real life, everybody knows the culture and that it’s a great vacation spot. Team Skull is more of a comical nuisance than anything (except for whatever they did to take over Po Town), and Lusamine is more concerned with stranding herself with Nihilego than destroying the world with Ultra Beasts. Still happens because Lusamine’s plan spawns their portals, though, so I suppose that’s credence for a strong organization. Same organization that made an Arceus sequel, anyways. The Ultra Beasts are what sell it, though. You have a living black hole, a Herculean bloodsucker, a 30-foot tall rocket with laser cannon arms, a piece of paper that can slice skyscrapers, and a prism that can become an alien dragon that consumes all light in a given dimension. Can’t forget the clown who is a living bomb, the colony of nearly unbreakable bricks, and the bat-wasp with corrosive venom. And with Crabrawler around, they may not even need the Ultra Beasts to win. Alola wins. I think. Probably. Major weakness I can think of is how young their Pokémon League is, though, but since the player is the canonical Champion, that gives them lots of points in favor of power.
Hoenn & Sinnoh throughout this whole video: *y’all hear somethin’ ?* also I’m disappointed boring Galar didn’t get its ass dragged across the Johto & Kanto’s border
Galar is beautiful and the culture are so interesting! Grand Hammerlocke, Magical Ballonlea, Steampunk Motostoke, and even Modern Wyndoners with their busy life taking mrt and flying taxi everywhere, the pokemon are strong and good at competitive battle, Hatterene, The Fossils, dragapult, cinderace, corviknight, etc + they can DYNAMAX!!!, The league felt so GRAND and EPIC and the trainers are strong (well i dont overlevel my pokemon and i battle them with the exact number of pokemon they are using), Raihan, Leon, Bea, imo the only weaker ones are Milo and Piers, The science.. they're experimenting on a new energy source for Galar for thousands year to come,The organization is sooo powerful with unlimited funding and yes i am talking about chairman rose company and not team yell lol
You're not wrong, but seeing that done to my 2 favourite regions hurt. I want a more difficult Kalos game. As far as Pokemon goes we still haven't seen Southern Kalos so it might turn out stronger later.
I'm just gonna say it unova has a total of 5 champions and the most gym leader of any region(yeah sure 3 gyms retired but ehhh they were replaced[not to mention 1 of their gym leader straight up became champion and the gym leader to replace her was a rival to the others back his prime] ) 2 players 3 NPC
The doesn't matter since both Steven and Cynthia can stomb them all The OG unova champion is pretty weak The players does not count tho like realy 😑 Iris is pretty good but her team lacks on variety which makes her easy to counter
Shouldn't native Pokemon include all of the Pokemon you can find in the wild, not just the ones introduced there? And regional variants should be counted with those reigons too.
Unova strongest cultural center in pokemon change my mind. lots of legendaries, a very good elite 4, probably the most culture because it's basically new york, has black city which is basically the future, and let's not even talk about their pokemon team aka the best story in the entire series.
Ngl, only clicked this video because the preview for it shows 4:17, which uses one of my videos' thumbnails. Not a complaint, just found it kinda cool. lol Nice vid, man.
I would say on Lysandre's best day....if XY were more so balanced difficulty wise he would be obviously be on part with the others. I mean his USUM team is pretty strong and not just because he has a legendary on his team.
The strongest region is gonna be either hoenn or sinnoh(maybe unova)The fact that hoenn has had 2 champs and 2 psudo legends and pretty good legends ,but sadly sinnoh just wins becuase hey we have like 20 legends including god.
@@kingced741 the legends on hoenns side cover the gaps pretty well. Plus hoenn has the battle frontier brains which equals the numbers. Brandon and anabel can sub un fir champs considering they through legendary pokemon around like candy (no joke, brandon has a full team of legendary pokemon in game and anabel has 3, one of which is mega latios) and steven, wallace and Brendan can match the rest and zinnia, who has Rayquaza, easily matches anyone in unova
@@blitz4779 okay no cap interesting fight. With Chern restroted to his original team not to mention hugh team its and not a cake walk for hoenn. Not to mention the fact that the evil team has a total of 9 executives that all needed at least 2 gym leaders to fight amount of competent trainers in both unova and hoenn are insane. Even if we take the physic elite four member out and send her back to her home region we still have Alders Son. And being that the player character from the 1st set of games is coming back and not to mention GETSIS seriously if going off of rainbow rocket he is seriously 2nd strongest and could probably take on archy and lava boi(I played sapphire). Another thing the gym leaders are active and will actully defend their towns and both of the unovan professor are kinda competent(Bianca ended her journey after getting either 6 or 7 badges and I just don't know about professor juniper)
Kalos was hard for me when I first played it, when I was completely new to the Pokémon games when I was nine. If I was competent back then I could’ve have easily beaten the entire thing without having a single Pokémon faint.
With the Exp Share upgrade it made it a lot easier to get through. Much less grinding when you can all level up at once. Probably the first region I have properly raised a Pokemon to level 100
Personally, if you need a tie breaker like you did with this video, you might want to consider the factor of older pokemon available as well. While Kalos might be weak when looking at the sixth gen pokedex, they also have access to quiet a few hard hitting older pokemon at pretty early stages.
@@laxusstrauss5945 arceus yes dialgia and palkia no if you think about it thematically and philosophically and logically life and death are alot more powerful than time and space
Bro Johto culture is almost peak culture in the pokemon games, but like 0/10 on science. A single Amphoros is responsible for the only lighthouse in the region. If it gets sick, any boat in a fog is shit out of luck.
If the regions focused on one specific Civ ressource: Kanto: Production Johto: Food Hoenn: Science Sinnoh: Faith Unova: Gold Kalos: Amenities Alola: Culture Galar: Housing
in johto's defense, they had some of the strongest trainers (ethan, lance, karen, a handful of the strongest gym leaders from the worlds strongest) DESPITE having virtually no technological advancements. on the flip side, EVEN WITH the advantage of having a pretty technologically advanced world, kalos produced an elite four that would lose to the pre-Kanto elite four in johto that were literally designed to be underleveled so that the game would last longer.
@@trent800 but lance and ethan and bruno are all from Johto specifically. They grew up there, trained there. Agatha is the only mainland kanto member of the original e4, and koga is the only from the second e4. Johto has a strong Strong trainer presence even separate from kanto
Patrick Lynch the thing is Karen is in the Indigo Plateau e4 and that’s in Kanto. Plus it’s never been said where’s from afaik so I’d lean more towards Kanto than Johto
Also I'm sorry but France was literally tanking nearly all of Europe during the French revolution/Napoleonic era. The only reason they had that reputation is due to WW2.
I recently tried to beat Kalos as low Level as possible with in Elite-Team out of IV-breed and Ev trained Ou Pokemon and I have learned one thing, caves are really annoying if repel isn't working because you are 5-10 levels below the wild Pokemon.
If we're talking canon and lore here Kalos's legendaries and mythicals alone save it from being anywhere near the weakest. Zygarde 50 managed to curbstomp Mega Mewtwo X in the manga, Yveltal's out there having more destructive capability than Mega Rayquaza and is even able to nullify its powers, Hoopa's out there being able to summon the creation trio and use 'em in battle against just about everyone else. They're quite insane in that regard.
Gen 6 after seeing this vedio:Hmmm, perhaps we really should stop giving everyone except our native Pokemon a mega evolution for existing............Or you know what let's just drop Yeveltal in other regions
If you were to define native Pokemon as Pokemon that are found in that region even in they weren't introduced in that generation, Unova (B2W2) Kalos, Alola, and Galar all have a massive advantage. Their regional Pokedexes are fucking massive, all of which have at least 300 Pokemon to choose from, and that's before you even count regional variants. Kanto just has the original 151 plus Meltan and Melmetal per LGPE, Johto basically has the entire combined Pokedexes from Gen 1 and 2, and Hoenn and Sinnoh are barely above 200.
I think johto gets culture points for the pokeathlon honestly, where else can you watch an onix smashing a ball at blinding speeds directly at some random pidgey?

I only played the remakes of the Gen 1 games during the 2000s (Fire red and Soulsilver), so I don’t know anything about the majority of the professors, but I do know Professor Oak from the games I played and he was a beast and he also either created the pokedex or filled it? (Think he did one of the 2 but it’s been like 14 years) Either way I think he would boost Kanto in the science category
God hell of a good video man, always relish your uploads
this was such an amazing video, thank you for opening my perspective on the power dynamics of all of these regions
Might as well title this " Kalos Roast the reckoning" Cause this was savage XDD
Granted if there was a war Johto and Kanto would probably be allies
nah Kalos would be beaten by Galar as always
Optimus Pirate Unova would be the isolated one
Chris Ginny unova would be world police and dropping bombs on everyone
Optimus Pirate Sinnoh would threaten to sick Pokémon God and Devil on everyone if they don’t stop and make-up
@@trent800 Kalos would wreck Galar lmao
i like the editing it think its great, also this is one of the first video i've seen that doesnt slag off unova (the region i love) so nice one mate
Theoretically if Johto isn’t developed yet has much stronger trainers than Kalos, then Johto’s potential would be super high, whereas despite Kalos’ incredible development and major populace, their trainers still suck dick so their potential is probably lower.
Oh in a fight kalos is screwed
well true but kalos does have the stronger and more important legendary pokemon...
@@blitz4779 eh you have a point buuuuut...mega evolution all I gotta say plus kalos has a mewtwo that can mega evolve
Also silver and a weak assist, we'll go with chuck, can beat the 3 weak af rivals from kalos
Johto just has to many advantages when it comes to trainers.
Well, even just by being an expansion pack to Kanto, Johto still managed to tied with Kalos
Hoenn & Sinnoh throughout this whole video:
*y’all hear somethin’ ?*
also I’m disappointed boring Galar didn’t get its ass dragged across the Johto & Kanto’s border
Believe it or not, Galar probably stomps most regions
I wake up, to see my man's upload. Is this a dream? Stars did finaly align, for me to arise to all this lovely banter? (Slaping my self) YES!
Lysander literally looks like he’s willing to have his Piroar use crunch on my head.
THE E IN LYSANDRE SHOULD BE AFTER THE R! AND THE I IN PYROAR IS SUPPOSED TO BE A Y!
"...Kanto would be good if you're looking for a job"
And that's what makes it the most powerful
You're not wrong, but seeing that done to my 2 favourite regions hurt. I want a more difficult Kalos game.
As far as Pokemon goes we still haven't seen Southern Kalos so it might turn out stronger later.
I'm just gonna say it unova has a total of 5 champions and the most gym leader of any region(yeah sure 3 gyms retired but ehhh they were replaced[not to mention 1 of their gym leader straight up became champion and the gym leader to replace her was a rival to the others back his prime] )
2 players
3 NPC
N wasn't a champion though. It had 4 champions. Also to be fair....kanto/johto may have had the most amount of elite 4 members in total.
Galar also has 5 champions:
Leon
Mustard
Peony
Raihan
You
The doesn't matter since both Steven and Cynthia can stomb them all
The OG unova champion is pretty weak
The players does not count tho like realy 😑
Iris is pretty good but her team lacks on variety which makes her easy to counter
Cynthia is a bit weak ngl
I think people over hype her
The real weakest region was the friends we made along the way
Shouldn't native Pokemon include all of the Pokemon you can find in the wild, not just the ones introduced there? And regional variants should be counted with those reigons too.
Strongest region is definitely wherever pokemon insurgence takes place
If only that that was official. That or reborn
@@blitz4779 haven't seen reborn gotta check it out.
Unova strongest cultural center in pokemon change my mind. lots of legendaries, a very good elite 4, probably the most culture because it's basically new york, has black city which is basically the future, and let's not even talk about their pokemon team aka the best story in the entire series.
"testosterone portals".....what is going through this man's head while writing these scripts!?😂
Game theory: team yell are actually a bunch of simp’s
"Plenty of trainers that are sure to bang."
Then suddenly, Karen appears. Goddamn it. 12:13
Such a glorious upload to see on my feed this morning!
cool thought if galar and unova teamed up they'd probably destroy the world
just sayin
Just like real life
@@KipTM exactly
it be like getting the band back together and finish what they started
Hoenn is up there too
pokemon world war anyone?
Hoenn, Galar, Unova, Sinnoh vs Kanto, Johto, Kalos, Alola
Ngl, only clicked this video because the preview for it shows 4:17, which uses one of my videos' thumbnails. Not a complaint, just found it kinda cool. lol Nice vid, man.
"you may have spawned the biggest city in the world but we're still waiting for you to spawn a decent trainer" oh I'm dead-
I would say on Lysandre's best day....if XY were more so balanced difficulty wise he would be obviously be on part with the others.
I'd say its between those 2 and unova. Unova gas so powerful legends and alot of good trainers
5 champions on unova side
Also all both of the 2 rivals are up their and 11 gym in total unova got this in domination
Are we forgetting how strong cynthia is?
Thank you so much for all videos you made. You are one of my absolutely best youtubers ever. :)
Jsi borec.
Kanto and Johto would most likely be allied since they share a league and all.
Thanks for the laughs, I’m definitely subscribing!
Kalos was hard for me when I first played it, when I was completely new to the Pokémon games when I was nine. If I was competent back then I could’ve have easily beaten the entire thing without having a single Pokémon faint.
I beat the game in three days it was easy, most Pokémon games take a week or longer
Depressed Luigi all pokemon games are really quick the longest I took to play a pokemon game when I played non stop was 36 hours
With the Exp Share upgrade it made it a lot easier to get through. Much less grinding when you can all level up at once. Probably the first region I have properly raised a Pokemon to level 100
I can just solo every game with the starter. Pokemon was never hard just young kids not knowing how to play lmak
Only guy I can rewatch and rewatch
Everytime you upload a video, I know I'm going to be on the floor laughing for 10+ minutes :')
When your waiting for him to say Unova and he doesn’t say it once.
Unova is actually good.
Personally, if you need a tie breaker like you did with this video, you might want to consider the factor of older pokemon available as well. While Kalos might be weak when looking at the sixth gen pokedex, they also have access to quiet a few hard hitting older pokemon at pretty early stages.
What I learned from this video... my favorite region Hoenn will do well in the strongest region video
Top 3 easily
@Mr1upz I love your videos bros, so realistically accurate with opinions
“Kalos the weakest region in terms of weakest Pokémon”
Zygarde the Pokémon that decides what lives and dies: 😐
Arceus and the creation trio : hi there
@@laxusstrauss5945 arceus yes dialgia and palkia no if you think about it thematically and philosophically and logically life and death are alot more powerful than time and space

Mate, the editing is a fucking 10/10.
lovin the new music between tops/sections
"johto has slightly stronger pokemon" *laughs in aegislash*
I love this mans videos
*you win where it matters* that's oddly motivational
I love the Bully end theme you have
Bro Johto culture is almost peak culture in the pokemon games, but like 0/10 on science. A single Amphoros is responsible for the only lighthouse in the region. If it gets sick, any boat in a fog is shit out of luck.
This was one of the most interesting videos I've ever watched. Glad we ruled out lore because Arceus and Necrozma would've made things very lopsided
If the regions focused on one specific Civ ressource:
Kanto: Production
Johto: Food
Hoenn: Science
Sinnoh: Faith
Unova: Gold
Kalos: Amenities
Alola: Culture
Galar: Housing
Damn, now I really want a 4X4 game where you play a Pokemon region and compete for domination
Unova wasn’t even mentioned in the entire video lol
I would more likely use Marco Cosmo instead of Team Yell for the organization
Ok but you forgot that Hoenn already won the Science victory. They have gotten multiple rockets up into space.
in johto's defense, they had some of the strongest trainers (ethan, lance, karen, a handful of the strongest gym leaders from the worlds strongest) DESPITE having virtually no technological advancements. on the flip side, EVEN WITH the advantage of having a pretty technologically advanced world, kalos produced an elite four that would lose to the pre-Kanto elite four in johto that were literally designed to be underleveled so that the game would last longer.
Kanto and Johto are allies I mean they share a league which no other regions do
@@trent800 but lance and ethan and bruno are all from Johto specifically. They grew up there, trained there. Agatha is the only mainland kanto member of the original e4, and koga is the only from the second e4. Johto has a strong Strong trainer presence even separate from kanto
Patrick Lynch I wouldn’t really say Karen’s from Johto
@@spinceiling7442 ... isnt she? There are zero dark trainers in kanto. Will is the only true anomaly I think
Most underrated poketuber
You make some of the best videos on youruve
So we just not gonna mention unova or is that just a grey area
You know that yavaltal has the power to basically absorb every Pokémon nearby
In a ten foot radius*
Lysandre dressed up as MJF is hilarious
If you were to define native Pokemon as Pokemon that are found in that region even in they weren't introduced in that generation, Unova (B2W2) Kalos, Alola, and Galar all have a massive advantage. Their regional Pokedexes are fucking massive, all of which have at least 300 Pokemon to choose from, and that's before you even count regional variants. Kanto just has the original 151 plus Meltan and Melmetal per LGPE, Johto basically has the entire combined Pokedexes from Gen 1 and 2, and Hoenn and Sinnoh are barely above 200.
I just watched a grown man roast the shit out of my starter region for 13 minutes.
*likes*
NO MORE SAYING SH*T!
This video makes me want to see a mod for Civilization 6 that adds in Pokemon regions as civilizations.
Where’s they nap from at 0:08 ?
