    This is such a great video. It clearly and concisely makes clear why you absolutely, positively do not want to do this yourself. Your sanity is worth more. Give it to the dealer. :-)

    This video omits the part where you break several clips, crack decorative pieces of interior plastic, strip out a few screw holes, borrow another car to go to Autozone to find said broken clips and purchase crazy glue, and then never get your front fascia flush again like it was from the factory. Yup... taking my unopened honda factory oem fog light kit to the dealership so that they can do the install. Cutting bait on this DIY project even before I begin. (I some how expected this to be like putting Bosch Pilot driving lights on my 84 VW GTI … Oh well!) :D .

      There's the input from a man who's worked on cars and their reality. This was amusing and enjoyable to read, mostly because it described most of my last DIY jobs! Similar to your 84 VW driving lights, back in 1985 I easily installed under-bumper driving lamps on my college 1978 Mercury Zephyr to augment crappy headlights. Did it outside my college dorm with a drill, a $0.50 Radio Shack rocker switch for the dash, and a spool and 16 guage green wire.

    I did this on my rsx years ago, its actually much easier then you think lol just a wire behind a bolt, then plug and play. You're removing a bumper with a bunch of clips and a few screws. Not crazy. That 120min estimate is even a bit high unless it's your first time doing something like this. Don't be intimidated ppl 😁

    One thing nobody shows: you need to adjust the lights after installation. In the factory they adjust the lights mounted in the bumper and then they place the bumper on the car. For adjusting of new monted lamp you must bore a hole in the lower part of the bumper ( the black plasic ) korresponding to the adjustmet screw in the fog lamp and cover it after adjustment with some rubber cap. You need a loooong screwdriver for the justage.

    Good afternoon,
    I watched your video about the installation of fog lights at CRV, and I thought it was very good.
    I'm Brazilian and I really wanted to do this service in my car, could you help me with some kind of manual giving instructions on how to install these headlights.
    How: connection to be made, where to install the connectors, numbering of the pins I am using the original arrow with original activation of the headlights.
    I will be waiting for your reply, thank you.

    Ford used to leave the pigtails attached near the fog light openings, all you did was plug them in after attaching them and change the switch.

  • @RaynierFamilia
    @RaynierFamilia 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Well, i think i can make it easy💁🏼‍♂️. Get under the car, take off the botton cover and open the sides of the bumper(carefully) get under the car and cut the circle, install the fog lights and the wires... use an universal fog lights wires with a relay, just two directly wires to + and - of the battery, and one cord that goes inside the car for the switch, and them put the switch in an empty spot from your dash💁🏼‍♂️ no that hard

    This video might of answered my question: I have a 2006 Honda CRV and trying to find a new bumper but they all say "without fog light holes". My CRV has fog lights so I guess I buy the bumper without holes and cut my own holes, Right?

    It's easier to just buy the EX trim so you save yourself the agony of cutting your hands making a hole in your Bumper. Loosing brackets and few screws not to mention putting holes and scratches on your dash. By going with EX trim, you will also save the hassle of cutting up your roof,, don't even get me started on what could go wrong there? The leaky roof will be the least of your problems.

    I have a 2007, besides quality what is the main difference from the OEM style eBay fog lights to the OEM Honda fog lights? I don't think the eBay ones come with the switch yet they come with a push button type switch. Can you verify if the installation process would be similar?
    Price for eBay OEM style fogs are $35.99 and OEM Honda fogs are $274

    I was cringing when he was using the razor blade especially when he was cutting towards his hand, I was expecting to see him cut his wrist or finger at any moment. You need to get the right tools for the job both for safety and convenience. So if the bulbs burn out do you have to remove the bumper to replace them?

    • @williamfeliciano491
      @williamfeliciano491 ปีที่แล้ว

      i was thinking the same thing - all these awesome power tools to remove bumper etc. but a razor blade for the cutting. I thought i'd see some fancy cutting tool. Goes to show how that patent for the razor blade 120 yrs ago was genius. I guess he really needed a precise cut to prevent plastic burrs from interfering with install.

    So, you just tucked the fog harness cable through to the engine compartment and tightened the ground but you never showed where it conects to the anything.

    • @Peter-kt5rr
      @Peter-kt5rr 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You remove the power brake booster, drill a hole through the engine firewall, and route the cable through it below the dashboard. Easy Peasy. Just kidding!! But you are right... It gets tucked up into the fender... and then later in the video magically appears below the dash.. Great video, but he missed that part.

    Now show us how to keep those expensive and obviously time consuming and difficult to install lights from getting cracked by rocks thrown up from another vehicle. They didn't last long on my '08 and I'm not about to go through this again to pay $160 in replacement cost for each light housing.

  • @JR-kr1lv

    Looks pretty hard unless you know what your doing, body man, mechanic, electrical work, more than average, how much does it cost to install on a 2010 Honda CR-V EX 4WHEEL ? Why not not just another rocker switch on dashboard, that would make it much easier than pulling the directional switch apart, you didn't show where the wires went or what it looked liked at all. Just a wiring harness and bam, you plug in to wires into to pins. Like we know unless you show what to look for, like the pin connector and color coded now. Also where you snaked it threw the firewall also. Its not a cheap kit but they due make them cheap and great name brand that looks easy, that comes with a rocker panel. Why not just plug the low beam light into wiring harness kit so they only work with low beams only, just like a trailer harness kit does. Same thing but the front and you make it hard.

      They should be installed on EX AND EX-L MODEL'S. Its crazy that there not. Only seen 2 so far and WOW, What a huge difference on look's. It makes it look 10 times better and worth $500 more easy. They have aftermarket ones with different color's, not legal in my state at all. Want nice headlights, look at the Halo headlights. In black. There costly, about $350 a pair.
