@@courtneymichelle5746 the whole thing was not scripted, just some parts, most videos are at least partially scripted, she clearly knew beforehand that the taste tester was vegan, why else would she have made an avocado mouse when she could have just used cream. They had that part in there for dramatic effect just to make it more interesting, and it clearly worked since everyone is now riled up about it. Even if it wasn't scripted, it really doesn't matter, it was a bit rude but it really doesn't matter. If it truly was not scripted then the producer probably just panic and blurted out words, she was not trying to be rude. Sorry for going on a rant lol.

It's obviously scripted since they had the vegan taster set up for the blender episode ahead of time, so Alex probably was told ahead of time to make something raw vegan but she forgot that there was cheese in pesto.

I have a feeling that there was a "no dairy" rule from the start (which is why Alexis opted to use avocado for her mousse and use the soy as a substitute in the appetizer and to emulate the ricotta) but the producer definitely could have reminded her in a much better way. Heck, the guest is vegan, so it clearly wasn't something they made up on the spot. Alexis just forgot and the producer was kind of a jerk about it.

No because if you think about it alot of dairy has to be cooked or have some heat so using vegan options takes out the need for heat. I think they might have forgot because of this but cheese doesn't have to be cooked and can be eaten raw so they possibly panicked. But they could have done a thousand things to remove it but didnt

@@lukehoffman9742 avocado mousse doesn't require heat to make, unlike dairy. All of her choices were made because she couldn't use a source of heat at all.
Solan Novitsky you can make mousse- with dairy!- without needing heat. the only thing you need to “cook” with mousse is the chocolate, which she was able to get around anyway using the heat from the sun. literally the first thing that pops up when you search for a mousse recipe is a recipe that only needs you to melt the chocolate.

We know they told her beforehand, because there's no way she would have made all this stuff specifically with a blender if they hadn't. Heat or no heat, animal products would have normally been her first go to. And the fact she not only excluded animal products, but explicitly made it raw says it all. There's no way her producer wouldn't have said anything otherwise and they just added that scene to make y'all focus on the wrong thing

@@Tusk the lasagna had no dairy in it. the ricotta cheese she made was made using the nuts and that nutritional yeast.
Maybe they didn’t see the parmesan since they probably don’t even know what she was gonna do and they had to say no parmesan very quickly since she was just about to shred some in and probably ruin the entire thing bc of that.
Probably scripted. Doesn't make sense to let her pull out the cheese at all. Also Alexis purposefully avoided dairy when making the rest of the components, even going so far as to use avocado in her chocolate mousse when dairy would have been way simpler.

I think this is my favorite episode of this cooking show. I really want to try that lasagna, the mousse, really I want to try everything. I don't know that I ever will, but it's fun to think about.

You could also pull off a double boiler just by using the hot water out of the tap since it’s just regular tapwater it’s not breaking the rules. Just let the water run until it’s hot fillet almost to the top of the blender and then put a metal pan and to make it a double boiler the residual heat from the quantity of warm water should melt the chocolate

@Spookay T'is Me I agree she was acting. Unless its shot out of order she had already made other things with vegan recipes that she could have used meat or dairy. Like the chocolate mousse. I was wondering why she didnt use some type of heavy cream. Later on it made sense when they said no dairy. So she must have known.
@@evelynm238 I'm not sure able that. It seems that they shot it in none-linear order since one of the key ingredient for Pesto is Parmigiano-Reggiano or Pecorino Sardo. And her reaction looks more like she held back her annoyance because a block of cheese was on the table for awhile and producer didn't tell her till the last second.
@@evelynm238 dairy would require heat that's why she used the vegan alternatives most of the stuff doesn't require it.
They should have told her the dairy restriction earlier.
I think they shot that part first because she seemed to know the restriction for the first two dishes

Ik everyone is going on about how the producer could have expressed themselves in a different tone/manner indeed; however, let's not downplay the beauty of modesty that Alexis possesses! While under pressure she still displayed an amazing attitude while keeping her eye focused on her mission, which nonetheless was a success! Way to go Alexis! 👏🏽😌😊

Not only that, the damn block of PARMESAN is sitting on the CUTTING BOARD right IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA. I highly doubt a chef would have various ingredients lying around for the sheer convenience of decoration, unless the said ingredient is being used as a form of decoration for the plate. However, none the less, whether or not the cheese was going to be used for said involvement, the producer should have noticed when she set the counter with her ingredients. Waiting till that exact moment to announce the fact that the taste-tester was vegan, is poor observation and communication on Tasty's part. Using the phrase, "Do not put Parmesan in.", was a very inappropriate, and ill-timed comment to make while she was in the process of prepping the dish. Having an outburst like this in a realistic setting, especially to the person making the dish in the first place, could wind up having a pan, or even the dish itself, thrown at you, while simultaneously being told to "make it your damn self, then". One could argue, it was a curve ball they were waiting to throw at her, but if that is the case, Tasty has the shittiest idea of comedy one could comprehend.
On another note, I do commend Alexis for not allowing the change of events to hinder, nor completely tear down her dish. The lack of one ingredient does not always destroy the concept, but merely changes the pace of how a dish is interpreted.
Cajobu dude, I didn’t even know this was for a vegan, it was scripted so we knew it’s for a vegan and completely dairy free.
