- Tesla Model S Plaid vs Lamborghini Huracan drag racing at Dominion Raceway. Both cars are very quick, but the Tesla Model S Plaid definitely has an advantage over the Lamborghini Huracan. Considering the price and the fact that 99.9% of races happen at a red light or straight line, this is by far the best value one could possibly get and can safely destroy most cars including exotics.
100% agree. $110k and runs low 9s at over 150mph in the quarter stock. Pretty crazy.
Now compare the quality and the handling along with breaking....tesla quality control is not even the same level as Mazda
Eh quality isn't the best but it's hit or miss. Some are great. Regarding braking and handling, I still say overall I'd prefer the Plaid with the track package. It's not far off from a Huracan when it comes to handling and braking and blows it away in acceleration, the characteristic that is the most noticable. And it's still is easy to drive and costs way less.

A single iPad its not luxury whatsoever, but for the price it has to be missing some aspects I guess. When ur just cruising its so much more boring compared to being in a porsche or lambo. Which I've also be inside of. Way more of a experience at all times. Yea when u floor it u feel the instant torque but idk man, when u floor a high end sports car u feel like all eyes are on ur car ur the most important person on the road. Lol I know it's not true but just the attention a loud car comes with makes it cooler to drive IMO. I feel most others seem to think the same in car groups. Only tesla owners defend tesla. @Kj4real most last well over 10 years. At this point they are designed to last the life of the vehicle. You can't think of it like cell phones with many charging cycles. Most people charge their electric vehicle once or twice a week. And EVs have MUCH better thermal management. And the cells themselves are designed to last longer. Of course there will be some failures, which is why battery warranties are so long but law. But typically >200k miles is normal.

I know there's a difference between drag strip and road course, but both in reality are "tracks". There's a reason literally every drag strip has "xx at the track" events and talks about "track officials" and what vehicles are allowed on the "track".

I honestly wouldn't say way faster. The Huracan Performante did 6:52 at the Nurburgring, but this isn't a Performante. Also, the Plaid time at the Nurburgring isn't with the track package. I feel like the normal Huracan and the Plaid would have fairly similar total time, with the Plaid having MUCH higher top speeds at various points on the track.

after looking at alot of the comments and being that the tesla is in the $80-90k range im sorry but no argument can beat the fact that the tesla is the better car for the price... in the daily commute it beats literally everything.. the track excuse wont work cause lets be real u not tracking your lambo.. u probably bring it to the drag strip (where its slower than the plaid lol) once or twice in the 1st month and thats it for the life of the car.. You are not gonna be sending it around a technical track with corners shouting "im faster than a tesla around this corner!!" so that argument is out... buy a $7k -20kexhaust and say "i love the sound u hear this guys" and spend an extra $50-150k to get a turbo kit from ugr or sheepy in hopes to beat one ... tesla plaid with track package can go 200mph so anyone saying the top speed is where electric loses is false u not going 230mph on the highway or any track unless u are trying to kill yourself or u are just plain stupid. it corners better than most cars and not many high speed corners where u can consistently do 130+mph with no traffic...

Track time? Are you referring to nurburgring time? Tbh the Plaid isn't a track car. It handles solid, but not like a lamborghini. But it's crazy quick. I'd take a crazy quick car that handles really well over a significantly slower car that handles incredibly well. It's rare that anyone would push them to their absolute limit on the street for handling, but you can almost always floor it for fun lol.

@@shaybapple thats why you mod it. track wheels, track model v2, brake upgrade, a trackable steering wheel, wrap, and you'll be not far behind in terms of track performance. sure it looks a little boring, but honestly making these cars your own with mods makes the experience so much more fun and engaging instead of sticking with the way it currently looks because it "looks aggressive enough, it doesnt need it". then it starts resembling tuners and track cars (not including power mods of course)

I get what you're saying. No exhaust. No shifting. I come from several driver's cars before I got into EVs. I have to say, I do love driving an EV. The instant torque with no waiting to shift is great, along with solid handling and many other benefits.
If you guys ever buy a Tesla whether it’s a long range or plaid Tesla Model S, have a black interior and a white exterior. It’s the best looking for the Model S or any other model in fact.

Most people that "race" do drag racing. They are still decent when it comes to handling, though not quite on par with a Huracan. Unfortunately some are so competitive that auto-x divisions are banning them because they win everything lol.
1200 hp vs 630 hp and the huracan evo has a top speed of 214 mph a plaid has a 200 mph top speed stock so

Max torque at 0 RPM but probably lower top speed. Any fully electric motor vs a fully combustion engine will have a similar result. Electric cars are sick, so are gas cars but eventually all electric cars will be powered by renewable energy sources like solar and that would actually be epic. Gas prices wouldn’t matter anymore.

You know probably the reason is electricity doesn't need much time to spin the moter as it is electricity while the combustion engine takes time produce rotation motion and it also needs to spin the axle and then the power reaches the wheels that is why gas powered cars will be slightly slow than the electric cars

Gas engines need to rev and have completely different power bands. Electric motors give same torque across the rpm band and no lag.

The Plaid has over 400 miles of range. Doing max acceleration runs reduce range, but it also has regen when slowing down so it gets some of it back. 250 runs at a quarter mile is still only around 65 miles so that'd be easy.

@@lukabosnjak3829 looked it up for nurburgring, as expected evs get destroyed. Production gasoline 6.35 electric 7.33 thats a whole min difference.... as expected current evs just can't compete on the race track, perhaps in the future if they can reduce heat and weight.
@@MrVanDePol420 As I said, that was even before track mode, basically Tesla did it just have a quick record for presentation. Expect a new time soon with track mode and factory carbon ceramics, until that Laguna Seca time is a much more realistic representation although that car was modified

@@TechnicallyJeff The M3P starts to run out of steam after 80mph. The Vette had a higher trap speed at 1/4 mile, by 1/2 mile it would be gone, and it does not run out of steam.
This isn't a M3P. The Plaid traps 150+ mph in the quarter and has a top speed of 200 mph.
@@TechnicallyJeff Oops, I replied to the wrong video thread. Thought I was replying to a different video. At the 1/4 and maybe even 1/2 mile the Plaid would be ahead, but it would only ever hit 200 with the Track Pack enabled, which the one in this video does not have. Even if it did, the Lambo has a higher than 200 mph top speed and would at some point overtake it. But in the 1/4 mile, the Plaid is solid.
Oh haha yeah. The Lambo might catch it eventually, but the plaid would be so far out ahead for so long it'd take miles honestly.

An electric motor does not really meed acceleration. It can almost instantly reach final velocity.
Hence the instant torque. 0-10000+ rpm almost instantly.
People saying lost to a tesla so sad. Most people dont buy huracans to race. Dont need to win a race when u already won life. Plus the huracan has like 300hp less then the tesla and naturally aspirated. Unlike the instant 1000hp from the tesla. Hard to beat something that is instant. Also for the price of a tesla, u can build a car that can run faster. So stop comparing ev to gas. If anything put the lucid air sapphire against the tesla.

The reason that the Tesla can speed up this fast is the fact there is gear change happening and you can hear from the audio of the huracan that it had to change the gears
