The Juliet Shaw Legacy Project: Juliet Shaw's 12 Piano Symphony (an excerpt)

Juliet Shaw was arguably the most prolific pianist/thereminist of her day, with an unprecedented recorded output, dozens of hours of performances spanning from 1939 to 1988. She was tirelessly devoted to her music school, her piano students and to bringing world-class concert programs to Silvermine.
As if that weren't enough, she was a fervent proponent of the Duo-Piano repertoire and forming duo piano groups.
In what was perhaps her boldest effort beyond playing the theremin, over the years, she successfully brought to the stage a dozen pianos and a dozen pianists to perform her arrangement of her "12 Piano Symphony."
Although there are dozens of photographs of the symphony's performances from various years, there was nothing in the way of any video. Then, in December of 2022, the digitized footage from an unlabeled Open Reel EAIJ-1 video tape was sent back from a vendor I'd located in Ohio. There they were: excerpts from a 1978 performance of the 12 Piano Symphony shot by the NBC television network. Sandra and I were bowled over. It's one thing to see the photos, and another thing to get this glimpse of what happened in performance.

@@PaulKater And had it not been for Sandra's determination, that box might never have been found (especially because everything was all over the place in zillions of boxes. And bags. And envelopes. A folders. And loose stacks. And even more boxes. And... well, you get the idea.
